"HEY, BABE, it's past 1 pm already," Angeline reminded her husband, who was half-closed eyes looking at her. "You said you have a meeting?"
"I know," he curtly nodded. "but don't worry, I sent someone to take over."
"Oh! You could have told me," she said. Darted a glance at her.
"Does it make a difference?"
Angeline ignored his cold and distant attitude toward her. She was well aware of how she hurt him with her sudden decision. But not his hand that gently caressed her back.
This man does not know that his body is betraying him, she mused but curved her smile so as not to hear a snide remarked from his wounded pride.
"If you only told me, we could have gone to a more appropriate place than your office."
He eyed her quietly; then, his chest heaved deeply. "Can you tell me why you must go to that country? Is it because there's more there that you can play with?"
