Angeline woke up without Jacob. She had been waiting for him for more than fifteen minutes, so she thought of going out after leaving a note on her husband's table.
"Hi," she immediately greeted the woman outside Jacob's door, facing the three handset telephones lined up and a stack of documents in front of her. "I'm going out."
The woman nodded in surprise but Angeline continued walking.
"Who's she, Ruthie? I thought Sir Jacob was alone in his office."
Angeline turned as she heard the impolite conversation, the woman she spoke to a while ago at her husband's door was talking to this woman standing in front of the table. Two pairs of eyes were focused on her, and she was aware that they were talking about her.
"Don't be loud. We'd be fired if she could hear us," said the woman who she spoke to earlier.
"Don't say bad words. It's ma'am Angeline, sir Jacob's wife ..."
"Wife? She doesn't look like that."
