"Even with the union of each of the guardians, it was not enough to face that strange enemy, in addition, its ability to contaminate the runes had caused several disasters around the world with which many innocent people suffered the misfortune of perishing just like the world they knew... It seemed that the entire history of Futhark and life would be extinguished as the legendary golem continued to be present, it was an inevitable fate, or so many thought." Marjorie's words did not fully describe the overview of that situation. That land full of life that was once Futhark was being reduced to nothing as the days passed, the era that had supposedly been the most powerful and full of geniuses was not even enough to help in that battle, but when the simple fact that the gods of the world also had to use all their power just so that the destruction brought by that enemy was not imminent, it was quite clear that it was something that most mortals could not intervene in. "As a last option, and at the cost of their own being, the guardians decided to sacrifice themselves to seal that being that was beyond the power that they themselves could achieve, it is also said that it was not the decision that they themselves made since the fact of sacrificing themselves meant that their existence until that moment would completely disappear, and that that decision was the one that the runic energy had given to each of them."
Blake could sense that the story was reaching its main climax, and although Marjorie's words seemed to have some incoherence since the guardians were present in Futhark in the present, he said nothing and simply continued listening attentively.
"In the end, and fortunately, that last option had ended with the legendary golem being sealed in an unknown location, but at the same time, Futhark could feel the disappearance of its guardians. The survivors of each race, some even on the brink of extinction at the time, were now surrounded by an environment where survival was an easy-sounding word to say, the land they stood on had dried up, rivers and oceans were disappearing a worrying step, horrible darkness was rushing to all corners of the world at the same time that storms and hurricane winds made the caves or rubble of the kingdoms the only protection for the survivors, but in addition to that, the pollution left by the legendary golem did not stop even after it was sealed, and in addition to contaminating the few Futhark territories that had survived the disaster, the monsters, even though care should be taken with them, had now become true monsters that they only sought to destroy everything in their path... And all of that was the result of the contamination of the runes, which were known as the dark runes." Marjorie had closed her eyes unconsciously, perhaps she had been infected enough with Lynn to do the same, but that action didn't really seem strange after everything she explained.
Simply put, the arrival of the legendary golem had been the trigger for the destruction of the Futhark, even the situation after its sealing had not made any changes and it was only a matter of time before the Futhark of that moment returned to being an inhospitable world and without a trace of life as in the ancient stories, but the present era was enough for anyone to realize that something had to happen for that whole situation to be resolved relatively.
"Yes, it seemed that the end of the world had arrived, the hope of many had been broken while some others just hoped that their life would end as quickly as possible so as not to continue suffering or endure seeing what their reality was now… But as if a ray of hope appearing in the deepest, darkest despair was concerned, something happened that anyone who researches the history of the era of disconnection will find it difficult to believe the first time they hear it." Blake had adopted a serious face the entire time as long as the story had lasted, he was still trying to imagine that scenario with the data that Marjorie was sharing with him, which made him feel quite complicated about it, but paying attention to the last thing Marjorie said, he couldn't believe what I was about to hear either. "It felt like it was all a dream. That was the description of all the survivors of that disaster, and the reason for this was because, from one moment to the next, all that pollution, destruction, and desolate environments had completely disappeared."
It was like Marjorie had said, when all seemed lost, it was as if the Futhark had its own consciousness and power, which it used to clean up all the damage done by the battle against the starborn enemy, which made the idea that the runic energy really was aware of the world and was the creator of everything known up to that moment was even stronger than in the past.
The earth regained the life that had been taken from it, the withered forests were filled with a bright green color, and the rivers, lakes, and oceans shone thanks to the fact that the blue sky was once again seen in all its splendor as were the rays of the sun covered the earth and natural disasters disappeared without a trace.
The world was changing in front of all the survivors of the disaster until little by little Futhark returned to being the world they knew, and in the end, all living beings in Futhark could hear four roars coming from each of the continents that served as a signal so they would know that the guardians had returned, and with them, the peace and tranquility that had been lost long ago.
"Despite all that, it wasn't like time had been reversed or something. All the lives lost, as well as the destruction of the territories and powers that once dominated part of the Futhark, were gone or reduced to ruins that now lie scattered and hidden throughout the world. The aspect that the person responsible for making Futhark reborn was the same runic energy, that energy that was always present in the world, was once again the most acceptable option for everyone, that could not be solved without giving something in return, and it was seen represented in the quality and quantity of rune energy that could now be found in the new Futhark, which had made something clear to everyone… The existence of sovereigns and sages was no longer possible."
