'So it's not something strange.' Blake had just read the information that the system gave him.
In a nutshell, what Raven had handed her was a pair of scissors, but contrary to the common image of one, those scissors were a bit different. First of all, they were much bigger, Blake had taken the handle of these in his hand and could barely cover it completely, the blades looked incredibly sharp, and were possibly made of iron or some similar metal.
"Since Baal is a wooly, you will need to cut his wool on some occasions, especially in summer. You can also get some income by selling it and you can even use it to make some accessories, but that's up to you." Raven was explaining all that smoothly, even her voice was louder compared to any other day, and that was what kept Blake's attention occupied most of the time. "I also wanted to give you something else."
Raven had returned to search for something in her sack until she came out of it a new bag she soon handed to Blake. He opened it to see what was inside it and frowned a bit since he didn't know what it was exactly, but Raven noticed that.
"It is the general food for all monsters, they can eat it and it is very good for them, although some food rich in runic energy is also perfect." Blake listened carefully, but he was having serious doubts about it.
In the bag Raven had given him was a large amount of grass, by the looks of it anyone could compare it to straw, so that made Blake hesitate a bit. He remembered that Gaius had mentioned something about monster food in the letter he had left, but Blake decided to check it out for himself by taking some of that herb and using the help of the system.

It was then that Blake was able to accept everything as true. In addition to himself, he also trusted the system a lot, so there was no more doubt regarding food for monsters… Although the fact that grass could be used for upgrades made him feel strange, it was still not too positive.
"This is all very helpful. Thank you very much, Raven. I remember that Gaius told me that I could look for information with Shara on how to feed the monsters, but that was going to take time. I think I would be feeding Baal with apples if it weren't for you." Blake thanked Raven for the small gifts, those were things he hadn't seriously thought about, so he no longer worried about possible problems that might have arisen.
"You can do it, but I wouldn't recommend it, monster grass is something essential to their diet after all." Blake and Raven were a little surprised by Nana's sudden appearance.
It seemed like she was over her little disappointment and she went back intending to be part of the conversation.
"Oh, these scissors are perfect, they seem top quality." Nana had practically snatched the scissors from Blake's hands and was now appreciating them carefully. "You should use them when you get the chance, I don't think Baal has ever cut his wool once, so it will serve as practice."
Baal had returned with the group, but he had heard something worrisome, so he decided to go explore the surroundings instead…
"Well... I must say that this will be a new experience." Blake now realized that taking care of a monster required a lot of responsibility.
Blake asked this question since he didn't have an answer, the idea of cutting Baal's wool was very much on his mind, so it would be nice to know when he could do that.
"That depends..." Raven didn't give a direct answer, but even though she wasn't incorrect, Nana would elaborate a bit more.
"It is true what Raven says. Many aspects change the time it takes for a monster to produce various raw materials. Taking woolies as an example, if they are fed standard quality monster grass and there are no health or climate problems where they live, you can cut their wool about eight times a year." Although the number is not It was tall, it was already more than Blake expected. "The main reason for this is the feeding of the monsters, besides their physical forms, the monsters are almost entirely made of runic energy, so if you cut the wool of a wooly, and feed it grass for monsters with large amounts of runic energy, their wool will grow faster and its quality will be better."
Blake wrote it all down in his mind, he would also like to try all of that on his own as he had quickly thought of the advantage he had. His crops probably received some improvement thanks to the system and the Sharance tree, which made his quality several times higher, so if he grew his own monster grass, the effects should be quite positive... Although for that he had to give a visit to the flower shop first.
"I just hope you don't cut their wool in winter unless you modify the stable so that there is a comfortable temperature for Baal, woolies are quite delicate with the cold." Nana mentioned that last thing about it, still remembering the scolding she had received from her father when she cut the wool from the woolies just before winter, so it was a fact that was very much on her mind.
…
The small talk ran its course after that. Both Nana and Raven were giving Blake advice on monster care and both he and Nana also told Raven about Blake's little adventure bonding with her first monster.
Surely they could be talking about many things for a long time, but the sunlight turning an orange color made them aware that it was already a bit late.
"I think I'll retire; I left Gaius alone and I have to see if he's not exaggerating with work or he's asleep somewhere." Raven said those words to say goodbye.
"Oh, that's right, time flew by. I think I'll go to the restaurant; I'm starving." Nana put her hands on her stomach to make what she was saying clearer.
Blake took it upon himself to thank them both for the help they had given him, he also told Raven to thank Gaius for his work. Nana caught Raven and convinced her to walk her down the road, so both they and Blake said goodbye to each other.
Blake watched as their figures disappeared from his vision once they left the fields of crops. A small sigh left his mouth. Today had been quite interesting, and although it wasn't over, the new world that had opened up in front of him would keep him busy in the future.
