Chapter 268 - Day 268: Will (II)

While all this was taking place, Blake had decided to close his eyes to concentrate a little more. That feeling that the flow of runic energy that had come out of him was in contact with something else was still present, he was also aware that this strange phenomenon was due to the wooly, but at the same time, he let it all take its course.

Little by little, the glow between him and the wooly intensified to the point that Nana had to squint at her as the light bothered her eyes a bit. Blake still felt like he was touching the wooly's paws, but now, he could relate the feeling of his runic energy to something.

If he had to describe it anyway, it was as if his fingers were slowly entwining with someone else's. All of that was accompanied by something that was all the stranger because he was experiencing some feelings that he felt didn't belong to him; Calm, curious, and a little fear.

He didn't know how to explain that, but at the same time, Blake felt that the end was near because his runic energy was intertwining with the wooly's at a high speed, which made all the effects from before stronger, but it didn't last long enough for them to affect him much.

"Ahh..." Blake suddenly opened his eyes as he let out a small gasp and noticed how some sweat had accumulated on his forehead.

"How are you feeling, Blake?" Nana's smile faded when she noticed Blake's condition, so she hurried over to check on him.

"I'm fine, don't worry… How did everything turn out?" Blake wasn't feeling particularly bad, one way to describe it was like he'd just run full speed for a few minutes, but he was already recovering.

"Oh yeah. I think you should experience it yourself." Nana's words were enough for Blake to turn his gaze to the wooly. It had fallen to the ground; it didn't take long for it to get back on its feet and it shook its head repeatedly because it was experiencing something similar to Blake.

Both Blake's eyes and the wooly's had met at that very moment and Blake opened his eyes even more since now he was feeling something that had happened recently again.

"Can you feel it?" Nana's question was clear enough to Blake, so he was quick to respond.

"This... Is it the feelings of the wooly?" Perhaps Blake's question sounded strange, but that was what Nana wanted to hear.

In short, besides being self-aware, Blake was paying attention to some feelings that he knew didn't belong to him, he had felt exactly that before, but now he thought he knew the reason for that.

"You are correct, that is the result of a successful bonding!" The emotion was quite noticeable in Nana's voice, she was happy that Blake made it through without a problem, so she didn't hesitate to start explaining. "The fact that you bonded with a monster brings with it several points to consider, one of them is the fact that you can experience various feelings from the monster you are bonded with, you can know if it is happy, hungry, scared; this is a great help for the instructors in the ability to understand the monsters."

Blake took note of that; besides that, he did not doubt Nana's words since right now he could tell that the little wooly was somewhat confused, but at the same time it was transmitting a feeling of tranquility.

Although the feeling was quite special, Blake could tell that it wasn't entirely new. The system had a similar function since every time he concentrated on a monster, some information about it appeared, including its state of mind. The same thing happened when he saw the wooly for the first time, but that did not take away the fact that the new phenomenon he was experiencing was very different.

"For example, during the festival, you made some woolies angry and I could feel that because of my bond with them." Nana used that example to make it a bit clearer. "Another interesting aspect is that a monster can only be bonded to one instructor unless the instructor cuts that bond with the monster, or the monster returns to the forest of beginnings."

That information answered the question Blake had at the time. His sight had returned to the wooly again, this one was cleaning a bit of the dust that had been left in its ears without any concern, which made Blake hope that nothing bad happened to it.

"And last but not least, bonding with a monster makes it easier to command it so to speak." That last confused both Blake and the little wooly. "What I mean are the instructions you can ask the monsters to perform, for example…"

Nana approached the wooly again, she touched one of its paws and a peculiar feeling surrounded them for a few seconds, there was no word from Nana, but a second later, the wooly let out a small happy bleat before starting to walk away until it reached the area of land for crops.

Blake kept watching this curiously, but then he understood what Nana wanted to show him. They were both looking at the figure of the wooly in the distance, it had just pulled a red grass from the ground and then returned with it between its paws at a fast pace.

"Baaa!" The wooly drew attention again indicating that it was back, it had brought the small red grass closer to Nana as if to say that it was done with its work, Nana took it while thanking the wooly by stroking its head and taking out another bamboo shoot from her sack, which made the wooly's eyes shine with excitement again at the same time that Blake could feel the happiness it was experiencing.

"I suppose you have a few questions." Nana put away the herb she had given the wooly before turning her attention back to Blake. "Simply put, what I just did is connect with the wooly and convey to it what I wanted it to do, the instruction was to bring me some weed near here, so it did exactly that."

Yes, it did sound very simple, but that didn't take away from the fact that Blake's mind was filling with questions about to flood Nana.
