Chapter 266 - Day 266: Bribery (IV)

They say that when you relax you don't feel that your surroundings are very important, you don't want to know that time is running its course, you don't want to think about what to do next, or even satisfy some basic needs. You just want to keep experiencing that wonderful feeling, even wishing it would never end, but as it is quite obvious, it is very difficult for something to last forever.

With the coming of the end there was a feeling as if it had just lost something and didn't know how to really explain it, and it that this was exactly what the little wooly was experiencing at that very moment.

Ten minutes had already passed since it had accepted the proposal of that blond-haired human, it had decided to eat that apple since its hunger was stronger than its sense of survival, although that was closely related, so it was a little strange.

"Okay, now you're clean, isn't it nicer that way?" Blake had a calm expression as he directed those words at the wooly. He had already finished cleaning it completely using his brush and had also noticed that the wooly had finished with its apple. He had literally left nothing of hers, so he had pulled another apple from his inventory and given it to it too, and by the way it devoured it, you could tell one hadn't been enough.

The wooly had listened to Blake's words and realized that all the leaves and branches from before were nowhere to be found, besides that it felt incredibly comfortable since its stomach was full enough to feel satisfied.

It saw how the human in front of it was putting away that tool that he had used to clean it, everything indicated that this would be the end described, it even saw how he got up from the ground, letting the situation become quite calm.

"Well... This might sound strange, but... I'm looking for a monster that can help me on my farm, so I didn't want to do something that might scare you, of course I'm not forcing you to do anything, I don't know if you already have a place to live here in the woods…" Like his words, Blake felt very strange, it was as if he was trying to sell the wooly a house, he was telling it all the features of his farm and the barn that would serve as a home for it. He didn't even know if the wooly understood everything he was saying, but there was no denying that Blake was trying pretty hard. "So... I was wondering if you'd like to be my companion monster or something."

In the distance, Nana was covering her mouth, she already felt that at any moment she would explode from not holding her laughter due to the situation, it wasn't because Blake was doing something embarrassing, well, maybe a little... But she's having fun because she remembered the first time she had tried to bond with a monster and the process had been much the same.

The wooly had been overwhelmed with all the information Blake had just told it. It kind of understood what everything he said meant and it actually needed a place to live since it didn't know where it was. It didn't feel like Blake was lying to it, even kinda liked him after all he did.

"And I promise I'll give you apple juice every day." And as if it were a bribery, the wooly's ears twitched a little after Blake's words and it approached him without any impediment.

"Baaa!" That sound carried a new tone that Blake could relate to the fact that the wooly agreed to his offer, he even lowered his hand to pat its head and the sheep-like monster put up no resistance to any of this, even getting a little closer more to Blake to get on with it.

"Nice to meet you, my name is Blake. I hope to count on you from now on." Blake also experienced a feeling of satisfaction at that moment, it seemed that he had succeeded, maybe he cheated a bit by tempting the wooly with promises, but he would make sure to comply with them.

"Well, that turned out a lot better than I expected." Once everything had calmed down enough, Nana's voice reached Blake's ears again.

She approached while Shoku followed behind her still protecting her. The wooly was aware of this and became a little alert, it knew that those figures were next to Blake, but they were still strangers to it... Although all that would not last long.

"Come, little one." Nana crouched down a little at the same time as she took a bamboo shoot out of her sack and called the wooly.

It didn't think twice and ran towards Nana and then took the bamboo shoot and began to devour it without wasting a single second. Nana just chuckled a bit before reaching her hand up and caressing the wooly's ears, and to Blake's surprise, his new partner didn't reject any of Nana's actions.

"Hehe, surprised?" Nana didn't need to ask that question as she could see Blake's expression, so she started to explain a bit. "I decided to stay out of it since you were pretty excited about doing it yourself, so I couldn't tell you that something woolies love is bamboo shoots."

Blake could perfectly realize that just by seeing the wooly enjoying the sprout that little by little was disappearing in its mouth.

"I see, although I was also surprised that it didn't reject you or run away from you, I guess being an instructor has given you a lot of experience." Blake watched as Nana stroked some exact points of the wooly, causing the feeling of relaxation to come back surrounding it.

"Well, you're right on that point. The first time I bonded with a monster I was just a child, so I already have quite a bit of experience, especially with woolies since I'm in charge of taking care of them at home." Nana didn't say that to brag, she said it because she felt proud of everything she had achieved as an instructor since she always wanted to be one ever since she had a conscience.

For that very reason, she was excited and happy that Blake was showing interest in all that little world, and she would do everything in her power to help him.

"You said it was a success, but I'm sure it's not that simple." Blake said what was on his mind, the process had been quite interesting, but he felt that Nana was hiding something else.

"I like that you noticed." Nana stopped stroking the wooly before staring at Blake. "It indeed seems that you already get along with it, but that's just the first step, I hope you're ready, hehe."
