Chapter 231 - Day 231: Complicated feelings (I)

At this precise moment, the peculiar sound of someone drinking what seemed to be some apple juice could be heard to recover the energy lost after exerting himself enough, although well... That was precisely what was happening.

After Blake said goodbye to Shara, he had gone back to the farm to start planting all the seeds he bought, and even though he was able to plant them all at the same time thanks to the help of the system, his runic energy had completely emptied.

He had to spend one of the glasses of juice he carried with him to recover a bit, and that also served as a reminder to go for more apples in the future. After he had finished planting everything, the next step had been to start watering all the plots, which had meant that, in addition to increasing the level of some skills, Blake had to spend a few more glasses of juice to recover constantly his runic energy.

'I think I actually overreacted with the number of seeds I bought, I'm not even half-done watering and I don't think I have enough apple juice with me…' Blake was concentrating on all the work he still had to do, but it seemed that the world was listening to his thoughts and wanted to help him a little.

At first he had ignored it, but quickly, Blake noticed the little drops of water falling on him. He looked up to see the image of the enormous roots of the Sharance tree serving as a roof over the cultivated fields, but through the small holes through which the warm sunlight previously entered, now it could be noticed as a drizzle entered little by little at the same speed that it was intensifying.

"Well... I guess this is a big help." Blake had moved away from the area before to look for a roof that would protect him from getting wet, he was concentrating on watching how the plots were getting wet as the drizzle was turning into complete rain.

Blake felt that he had nothing to do there anymore since the plots would end up being watered thanks to the rain, so he went up the stairs to the main room of the Sharance tree since he was thinking of something to do, and after a few minutes of consideration, he reached his bed and opened his inventory, and then took the recipes he had won at the festival since he was not going to waste them.

[Recipe learned: Needlefish Sashimi.]

[Recipe learned: Chocolate Cooki…]

[Recipe learned: Cherry Sas…]

Notifications popped into Blake's head every time he learned each of the recipes, and while it was interesting for him to learn all of them, he still didn't have the necessary ingredients to make them.

It had actually taken a few minutes before a clear idea of what to do next caught his eye and the rain wasn't going to stop him.

Blake went out the front door, and after being hit by the cool weather, as well as the characteristic smell of the rain in contact with nature, he stayed for a few seconds appreciating the sight of the drops of water falling all over Sharance, but his attention was drawn quickly turned to the mailbox that couldn't be touched by the rain, he opened it looking for something in particular, and once he found it, he started to move forward without protecting himself from the water that was now falling on him.

After a bit, Blake thought that it would have been a good idea to find something to cover himself with since now he felt like he was totally soaked, but to his good luck, he had no problem reaching his destination, and that was precisely the smithy of the town.

It didn't take long for him to open the door and go in feeling so that he was getting a little dry due to the temperature of the place, but he had advanced once more until he reached the counter and began to speak.

"Um… Hi, I looked at the letter, but…" Blake remembered the letter in his mailbox, but the information was still just as scant.

"I see..." As it wasn't strange, Raven's attitude was still there, although that reassured Blake since he still remembered what had happened the day before.

After that, a simple silence that Blake had forgotten reappeared between them, but unlike before, Blake could see Raven come out from behind the counter and then approach the area where Gaius used to work.

"I'll be back soon." Raven's voice had now been heard loud enough, but unlike the answering voice Blake expected to hear, a somewhat different situation arose.

"Um... This iron is feeling stubborn, maybe I should change my hammer, it's been a long time since I had a worthy adversary." Blake was able to identify that voice as Gaius's and simply assumed that he really was in the furnace area.

"Come on." Blake could also see that Raven didn't seem to care much that Gaius had ignored her at that moment, although he also thought that she had gotten used to his attitude by now. Blake had also listened to Raven, but he had a simple question to ask.

"Go, where?"

"It's part of the job." Blake felt that Raven was trying to confuse him somehow.

"Job?... Ah, it's about the request, isn't it?" Maybe that was obvious, but he needed to check everything.

"I repaired an item from Sofia, so let's hand it over to her." Raven had let out a little more information, but that was enough for Blake to understand most of it.

"I see…"

"Come on." Raven repeated that phrase one more time for Blake to start following her, but he had to stop her before that.

"Wait, Raven. It's raining outside, we should bring some umbrellas." Raven stopped at that moment and listened carefully to Blake's suggestion.

She opened the door only to be greeted by the same scenery that Blake had experienced earlier and, after a few seconds, she went back inside the smithy and up the stairs to possibly go to her room.

Blake remained to wait in that same place, he had even thought of going to say hello to Gaius while Raven returned, but it didn't take long for her figure to reappear. Now you could see an umbrella in her hand, it was a blue color without anything special, but anyone could tell that it fulfilled its objective.

Blake was about to ask her if she had found another one for him to use… But really, he wouldn't even have time to ask that question.
