Chapter 232 - Day 232: Complicated feelings (II)

In a nutshell, the scenery outside hadn't changed much, raindrops were still falling from the sky that was taking on its gray color due to the clouds that were filling it at the moment, and it didn't seem like it would stop for a long time. But, to Blake, that didn't matter much as he walked forward feeling the wet ground under his boots, and held the umbrella stand tight as the sound of raindrops hitting it entered his ears.

'Well… If someone asked me, I would never think of ending up in this situation.' Recalling the previous scene, it wasn't too hard to guess that Blake had already left the smithy accompanied by Raven, and since there was only one umbrella, well… they had to share it at that moment.

Maybe Blake could have ignored that situation or not thought about it too much, but Raven's presence was something he couldn't ignore…

"I like it…" Raven's voice seemed to escape her mouth like a small whisper, and Blake turned in her direction trying to figure out what exactly she meant.

"Do you like it?" Raven also turned her attention to Blake since she believed that he hadn't heard her, and after a few seconds, she saw no reason not to explain.

"Yes, I like rainy days... You might feel it's strange."

"Well, I don't think it's something strange, maybe it's not my favorite climate, but I can still enjoy a rainy day... Although I think I would prefer to do it looking through the window drinking something hot." Blake did not want to miss the opportunity to start a conversation with Raven since they were in that situation.

"..." Without warning, Raven had returned to her characteristic silence, her gaze was a little lost at that moment, which made Blake think that the interaction between the two of them was going to end once more, but it seemed strange to him that Raven seemed to be seeing a little beyond his figure.

"Something happens?" That silence had lasted a few minutes, Blake realized that they had already left the pharmacy behind and it wouldn't be long before they reached the mansion looking for Sofia, so he wanted to know what was going on with Raven.

"Are you seriously not going to stop doing it?" Raven's question, like many of them, was a little lacking in context, but it wouldn't be necessary for Blake to ask for it. "I'm sure there's enough room for both of us... Why are you letting your shoulder get wet?"

And with just that, Blake knew that she had realized what he was doing… It was true that they were sharing the umbrella, but Blake had left the part of his shoulder outside its protection to give Raven enough space.

"Um..." Blake was about to give that explanation, but he didn't even have time for it.

"Don't do it again." Raven had looked directly into Blake's eyes, which made him unable to escape those blue eyes. Raven had taken his arm and brought him closer under the shade of the umbrella, this made Blake feel like his arm bumped into Raven's a little, so now, he was even more aware of the situation.

That new scene didn't change the rest of the way, plus both Raven and Blake had nothing more to say as they were busy with their own thoughts.

In the end, the home of the Sainte-Coquille family was not long in coming into their vision and the speed of their feet sped up slightly as the rain had intensified with the passing of the minutes.

Raven was the first to reach the front door to use the small roof for cover, Blake also joined her and put the umbrella away while he mopped up some of the excess water. Raven didn't say anything else to Blake and just opened the door without even knocking.

"Uh... Shouldn't we ask for permission before entering?" Blake asked a question that wasn't really strange at all.

"I always enter directly. Sofia told me that there was no problem in doing so." And with that simple answer, Raven took off her boots to avoid dirtying the interior and began to move towards the stairs of the second floor leaving Blake without yet another option but to go after her after doing the same.

It wasn't long before they came to a new door and, as before, Raven simply opened it without asking. Blake's view had been replaced with a somewhat large room, plus the details, decorations, and furniture in the place were already enough for him to feel that he had entered a whole new world due to the elegance that these conveyed.

"Oh, bye to both." And that peculiar greeting belonged to a young girl with violet hair that blended perfectly with the image of the place.

"It's good to see you, Sofia." Blake was the first to return the greeting. "First of all, let me apologize for the way I entered your room."

"There's a lot of trouble for that, hehe." Sofia had covered her mouth before letting out that little laugh. "But I don't wonder... Is something wrong, Raven?"

"Here..." And after that word, Raven took out a small box from her pocket and then handed it to Sofia to tell her to open it.

"This earring…!" Anyone could see the surprise on Sofia's face at the same time that she seemed to turn her attention to Raven looking for some kind of explanation.

"I fixed it, so I came to give it to you."

"But... I thought you said it could be fixed." Blake analyzed Sofia's words, understanding the parts that she spoke with opposites.

"I... You said it was special, so I tried a little... although I don't know if it was what you expected." Listening to that little explanation, Sofia turned her gaze to the small earring that was still in its box, although it wasn't long before to express what she felt at that moment.

"My! It's completely horrible! I am very sad right now!" Sofia's expressions combined with that aura of happiness that surrounded her made the image somewhat curious, and Blake couldn't help but laugh nervously at it. "This earring is very important to me... I'm so unhappy that it's fixed! Thank you, Raven!"

Sofia had moved closer until she was a short distance from Raven, she had taken her hands while continuing to thank her, and unlike the emotionless expression that should have been on Raven's face, you could see a somewhat warm look on her and it was quite difficult not to get a little lost in that image.
