Chapter 221 - Day 221: Bartering (III)

"I wanted to leave out too much presentation, but I can't seem to do it, although I'm sure many will be surprised since a winning streak ends today." Wells's words alone allowed many to guess what that meant, especially everyone who recalled the events of the past few years. "She was the first-place winner for ten consecutive years, but even though that ended today, it doesn't stop us all from being aware of her great ability, so second place belongs to Sakuya!"

Although much applause was heard after that, the people close to Sakuya turned their gazes to her unconsciously.

"Sigh... I had a feeling that this was going to happen." Sakuya was the one who gave that slight sigh before commenting. She already had a feeling that perhaps the position of first place had been snatched from her once she heard the point difference from earlier, but at least she didn't feel bad knowing she wasn't that far from winning again.

"Congratulations, Sakuya. You really tried." Blake was still next to her and said those words of congratulations, although Sakuya didn't take them that way.

"You're happy because you know you won, right?!" Sakuya had a menacing look on her face at Blake's words.

He was about to say that that wasn't the case and that he was happy for her so he could calm her down a bit, but before any words left her mouth, Wells's voice filled the surroundings once more.

"Okay, with that being said it's pretty clear that what's next will be this year's first-place entrant… And I want to finish this already because my spine is killing me, so… In the first place, with a score out of 6130 points, he did some things worth remembering during the event, and his performance entertained me enough since his physical ability is quite noticeable, it's also his first time participating in it, but I must say he put on a show worthy of admiration, and without further, the winner of this year's event is… Blake!"

Blake was still in the same position as before, about to say something to Sakuya, but when he heard Wells's words, he turned to look at her once more and could only let out a nervous laugh while scratching his cheek a little.

"Congratulations..." Sakuya narrowed her eyes as she "congratulated" Blake and they both began to walk towards the area where they were supposed to receive the prizes for their respective positions.

Only a few minutes passed, but now a scene was being watched where Blake listened to the sound of applause and words of congratulations that came to him at the same time that he appreciated the wooly-shaped trophy that was in his hands.

He was also surprised to receive many recipes as part of the prize, and he knew that he would take full advantage of them. All that didn't last long really, the award ceremony had been quick and Blake had saved the prizes he was given as well as returned the huge spoon he had used during the event, although he was also interested in another aspect.

In addition to the typical prizes, they also gave him all the wool he had obtained from the huge wooly, he appreciated that detail... Although he really didn't know what to do with all that wool.

"Blake, would you be interested in doing some business?" Blake was thinking about what to do so that now he could enjoy the festival since he was free, but Sakuya's voice came to him again with a somewhat strange question.

"Business?" Blake asked the question subconsciously since he didn't understand what he meant by that.

"Right! I'm sure you'll be interested." Now Sakuya's face was graced with an amused smile, but surely there was some hidden thought behind it and she wouldn't let Blake try to steer the conversation elsewhere. "You see, I'm interested to buy you all the wool you got."

Blake kept quiet for a bit trying to figure out why she wanted to do that, but Sakuya saw this and couldn't help but clear things up a bit.

"I know you don't know this, but I always take advantage of this event to get some high-quality wool that the wooly drops every year, it's incredibly useful for making many things like artifacts or just selling it as raw material, so I wanted to ask you if you were interested in selling it to me." Blake didn't expect such an honest explanation, which made him doubt even more. "So let's make a deal, I'll buy all your wool for three thousand coins, what do you think?"

Actually, Blake was very tempted to accept at that moment since he didn't know how he could take advantage of so much wool, but he wanted to use the help of the system to visualize everything a little better.

{Large fleece. Level 1.

Fleece from a Wooly. Can be used to make balls of yarn. If you put it inside your clothes, the cold will never penetrate your skin.

Effect on upgrades: DEF +5

Selling price: 700G.}

Blake carefully read the information that the system gave him, all of that belonged to one of the piles of wool he had with him, there didn't seem to be anything too strange, but when he counted all the pieces of wool he had with him, he knew that the coins that Sakuya offered him were not enough to buy everything.

"Actually... I guess I can't take less than six thousand coins for everything." Blake had been busy staring at nothing for a while, though he was looking at his inventory and system information.

"Six thousand?!" Sakuya had also expected Blake to snap back to reality after she saw him lose himself in his own thoughts, but she hadn't expected him to counteroffer double what she initially offered. "Tsk... I thought you didn't know the sale prices; I hope you don't blame me for trying to make some extra profit."

Sakuya was not considered, the world that merchants lived in was a very cruel one, but it seemed that Blake was not just a lonely sheep for any wolf to feast on.

"Relax, I can understand that a bit, but I already made my offer." Now Blake had a small smile on his face when he saw Sakuya's expression.

"Hmm... How about four thousand coins?" Sakuya attacked again offering a new amount.

"Five thousand five hundred." And although Blake lowered the price a bit, it was still something that Sakuya wanted to continue fighting for.

"Four thousand six hundred."

"Five thousand four hundred." That scene actually lasted for a few minutes, even a few people had come over to enjoy the little spectacle, but in the end, no one could deny that watching that heated price battle was quite entertaining.
