Chapter 222 - Day 222: Bartering (IV)

"Okay, five thousand two hundred coins, I won't accept more than that!" Sakuya yelled in some frustration after discussing the price with Blake for a few more minutes.

"Then we have a deal." Now it was Blake the one that had a smile that was quite annoying for Sakuya, but he was quite happy with the result.

It wasn't long before she took out a sack full of coins from inside her dimensional sack and then handed it over to Blake while he handed over all the wool he had with him… Although that was a bit curious to saw.

On the one hand, Sakuya was happy since she had actually obtained all that wool for less than what she would have to pay, but the difference hadn't been incredible to her either. It wasn't as positive a result as the price she got from the third-place girl since she was even able to buy all of her wool for less than half its price… And no, she didn't feel bad about that.

"Remind me never to do business with you again." Sakuya said as she narrowed her eyes and watched as Blake played with the bag of coins, tossing it several times in the air.

"Don't worry, I'll always be happy to make deals with you even if you don't want to." Blake was obviously joking with Sakuya, but she just pouted before turning and starting to walk away since she didn't feel like talking to Blake anymore.

He simply laughed to himself before realizing that he was now the center of attention of several people, but he just said goodbye to escape from that situation... Once he was calm again, the first thought that came to mind His mind was to go visit his friends who were now in the tent that served as the infirmary, but when he felt the worrying aura coming out of that place, he turned to walk away from what was there, although something new also caught his attention.

[Bartering skill, increased.]

The system notification showed a new ability for Blake, and it didn't take long for him to see exactly what it was.

{Bartering skill. Level 1. 20%

A skill that increases as you sell items. Increases intelligence and makes it easier for you to learn sales techniques.}

Blake thought he understood this new ability, but like most of the ones he possessed, he simply let time help level it up bit by bit.

Now he was appreciating his surroundings a bit, clearly there was no shortage of situations where he was recognized and congratulated for having won this year's event, and he appreciated their kindness, in addition to the fact that some of those situations involved the other members of the town.

"Rainbow! You put on a great show, dear assistant!" Daria's animated voice attacked Blake's ears causing him to jump a little in surprise.

"Thank you. I didn't see you during the event, Daria."

"Actually, I was kind of busy and can only make it almost to the end, tell me, did you get any wool?" Daria did not hesitate to ask about that material that she was really interested in.

"Sorry, I just sold everything to Sakuya." Blake spoke the truth without hesitation.

"Ooh… Hmm…" Daria adopted a thoughtful expression after hearing that. "Looks like I'll have to sell a few more paintings this month…"

Saying that, Daria waved goodbye to Blake before running off. He could somewhat understand what she meant by what she said, but he didn't have any more time to think about it since someone else had just caught his eye as well.

"It seems that you have grown well in all this time that has passed, and the surprising thing is that not even a month has passed since you started." That delicate voice reached Blake's ears quickly and he was able to identify it without having to see who it belonged to.

"It's all thanks to your help, master." Blake was quick to act considerate in front of one of his masters.

"Ufufu, it's nice to hear that, but it's obviously due to your effort as well." Shino had watched the whole event quite carefully, especially since she treated it as a small showdown between Sakuya and Blake, she wasn't rooting for either one in particular anymore. That didn't seem fair to her, and she simply focused on seeing the performance of each one.

Sakuya was already quite experienced so she was most likely to win again, but in the end, Blake was a surprise to everyone.

"I just wanted to congratulate you and apologize a bit for disappearing without explaining too much, did my master do something to upset you?" Shino knew that Mei had done something that had to do with Blake once she disappeared after she and Marjorie recounted the oddities he possessed.

She hadn't seen her since then, but even though she wasn't worried about her, she was curious if something had happened to Blake.

"Nothing happened, the great master was very nice." Although Blake might have a couple of complaints, he kept it all to himself, besides it was true that she acted nice after she experimented enough.

Shino's face had a somewhat confused expression after Blake mentioned the term "Great master", but she guessed that her master had done something to make Blake end up calling her that, so she didn't want to pay too much attention to it.

"I see... Well, besides congratulating you on your victory, I also wanted to tell you that I'll take care of Ragna, so you don't have to worry." Although her teacher was away, Shino took it upon herself to take care of her little brother... Or at least so she considered it.

Hearing that, Blake nodded since he understood and had no complaints, though he was quick to tell Shino that Ragna was possibly still in the nursing tent before watching her say goodbye to him.

Blake was once again alone thinking about what to do next. The festival hadn't finished yet and that was quite obvious once you could hear the background music and the laughter of various people, as well as the lively talks around the place.

The delicious aroma of various dishes of food in the distance caught Blake's attention, he took a quick look at his runic energy bar that had just dropped a bit, but that didn't stop him from wanting to get closer to try a little, but it seemed that he would have to give it up since someone else had come with a simple question.

"Um… Can I still take that tour you were talking about?"

[Progress… Saved.]
