Chapter 140 - Day 140: First Cut (II)

Blake had been using the cure spell repeatedly by this time, he could see his life bar getting lower each time he received an attack from the raccoon despite trying to block most of them, he was also aware that his runic energy was wearing out every second, but there was nothing he could do to fix it at the moment.

After escaping from the previous attack, Blake had ignored all that and then launched himself against the raccoon, it had not been intimidated and did the same giving a new battle roar, its fists through the air accompanied by its sharp claws with the sole objective of tearing Blake to pieces, but as if he were an elusive mosquito, none of them truly reached him just leaving a few simple minor wounds on the blond's body while a slight increase in temperature was felt right at that moment.

"Power wave!" The runic ability imbued with the element of fire was the one that Blake was most used to using, but he hadn't decided to do that for no reason, remembering all the confrontations he had with the raccoon, that particular scene had appeared in his mind and he used that move to check if he wasn't wrong.

"Gaaaaarhhh!" A sudden groan of pain came from the raccoon, it was being surrounded by the flames that were generated from Blake's sword feeling the pain continuously on it, obviously it could have gotten out of it or dodged it, but it was too busy carrying its hands on its head while taking a defensive pose while enduring this whole situation.

'I was right, it's protecting that strange leaf as if it were more important than its own life.' What Blake was referring to was the peculiar green leaf with yellow tones that was always on the raccoon's head, in their first confrontation he had wondered for what reason the raccoon had suddenly escaped, but after better analyzing the memories he had of that night, he had realized that one of his fireballs had hit very close to that leaf at the same time that the raccoon had desperately grabbed it protecting it.

And despite having become that beast, that strange leaf had never left its head making Blake realize that it seemed to be something precious to it.

Even in that situation, Blake did not miss the opportunity and, knowing the supposed weakness of the raccoon, he began to launch a large number of fireballs in the direction of its head. The raccoon still didn't move from the same position, but obviously its roars of fury couldn't be ignored by Blake.

The enormous amount of damage was fully visible thanks to the values that came out of the raccoon, Blake was sure that if it continued in the same way it would be a matter of time before he would be the victor, but he could not enjoy that feeling when the battle seemed back to favor the opposite side.

The fire continued to surround the raccoon and it was also aware that things would end badly for it as the seconds continued to pass, it could not bear that something happened to its beloved treasure, but despite this, there was something that kept inciting it to do the blonde to pieces and not allowing it to think straight.

Ignoring the fire around it, the raccoon removed its paws from its head at the same time that something new was passed, from the same place, more precisely from the leaf that was on its head, a huge wave of wind was generated surrounding the raccoon and then to be expelled, thus extinguishing the flames that were around it, but that was not all, once that small phenomenon ended, the same green aura approached the raccoon again so that it later raised its paw in the same direction and that a disk of wind that was already familiar to Blake formed, but unlike all the ones he had seen, this one was totally different.

"Damn!"

"Fwoossshhh!!!" Unlike the attacks with the same theme that Blake already knew, that wind disc was quite unique, the mere fact that it was more than twice the size of the normal ones and that the huge amount of wind runes was visible on it was enough to for Blake to be on full alert for what was coming next.

Just the sound of that same blade of wind was already worrying, it cut through the air in the time that lasts a breath getting dangerously close to Blake's figure, he was fully aware of that and had quickly invoked several shields of light in front of him in addition to raising his shield in the same direction with all his hopes that it would be enough to stop him.

It only took a few seconds for all this to happen, the blade was not affected in the least by what it was going to face and advanced with incredible speed to then hit the shields that Blake had created, they took full the attack and, although everything seemed to end with some kind of explosion from both spells, the shields were the only ones that disappeared at the moment they were cut as if they were simple butter so that later the blade continued with its path and collided fully with the shield Blake was holding.

All this had happened in slow motion before his eyes, the moment he realized how useless his shields were, Blake had already prepared himself to receive the attack, but if he had known, perhaps the best thing would have been void it when he could do.
