Chapter 128 - Day 128: Catch the Most Fish Contest (II)

"So... I guess that's another thing I should hide." Blake had already understood what his supposedly special physique consisted of.

"That's right, although it's not too difficult to do, I don't think anyone can see you use all eight elements... Though, maybe I should say nine elements instead."

"Haha, that's right…" Blake couldn't help but laugh lightly at that.

"By the way, have you found out anything regarding it?"

"Well… I learned how to do this." And from Marjorie's point of view, Blake had suddenly disappeared causing her to concentrate as best she could to feel any trace of him.

"I'm sure it wasn't a teleport, there was no reaction from the runes at any time, and I can't feel a single trace of runic energy from him."

"Hello." And when Marjorie heard that voice coming from behind her, Blake was greeted again by a blow from the broom that seemed to have become a new enemy for him.

"Don't scare me like that! I'm not a young lady anymore to put up with that!"

"I'm sorry!" And after more angry shouts, the atmosphere seemed to calm down once more.

"Now, what exactly was that?" Blake was scratching his head at the same time he answered.

"It's an ability I discovered using this new element." Holding his attention, Blake concentrated on explaining as best he could while avoiding mentioning that it was actually the time element.

"I see, first of all, no one besides you is capable of perceiving the runes of that element, so it makes sense that you can become practically undetectable, and it seems that they also prevent your runic energy from being detected… You should seriously train it, I am sure that it will save your life on more than one occasion."

"I'll make sure to do it." Blake was aware of that and he also wanted to see what level he could take his skill to in the future.

"Okay, I think that's all I had to say, I'm glad you're still healthy, hehe." Once he heard that, Blake quickly thanked her as well as apologized for everything he had done up to that moment.

He only received a few words of comfort, and after she was brought up that he should make sure to train his magic, the door was suddenly opened by Marian.

"What's going on?" Marjorie asked.

"Shara just came by to tell me that the mayor is calling everyone to gather in the square."

"Now what does that decrepit old man want...? Ah, that's right, we'd better go, we're done here after all." With no other choice, Blake followed behind the Granddaughter-Grandmother duo until they reached the huge square where you could see how most of the town was already gathered to later hear the familiar voice of the mayor.

"Well, I would appreciate it if you allow me your attention... First of all, I apologize for the hour, but some preparations kept several of those present busy, and I did not want to disturb." Noticing that he had everyone's attention, Wells continued with his speech while small murmurs were produced in the crowd. "I wanted to announce that the contest to catch the most fish will take place tomorrow like every year."

And just as he said that, an emotional scream belonging to Carmen was heard by everyone.

"Perfect, this will become my 20th victory, hahaha!!"

"Don't be overconfident, this may be my year, hahaha!" Carlos's own voice tried to compete with his sister's.

"You say so, but the fish always run away when they see your face, hahaha!"

"This year I will wear a mask, I have everything planned, hahaha!" The scene that seemed to have turned into a competition to see who had the last laugh was quickly ignored by everyone present, and they took a step away from the pair of siblings.

"Okay, if there are no more interruptions, I'll continue... The rules are the same as always, as its name says, the winner will be the person who catches the most fish!" The emotion could be felt in the atmosphere, it seemed that the town took that same attitude every time there was a special event, and that same feeling was enough to affect Blake.

'I lost the last event very sadly, this time I must put in more effort.' That was the thought in his head.

"As always, damage to the trapped fish will be avoided, they must be stored in the buckets of water that will be delivered the same day for later counting. The event will start at nine in the morning and the results will be given at six in the afternoon, if someone does not deliver the fish they caught before that time, they will be disqualified, I must not say it either, but if someone is discovered doing any cheat, you will be directly disqualified and will not be allowed to participate next year." The instructions reached everyone clearly, Blake was already thinking about what would be the best strategy to use, but when he remembered how his fishing level was still at level one, he only let out a small sigh hoping that luck favored him this time. "And that's basically all, if anyone has any questions this is the time to comment, if not, you are free to withdraw if you wish."

Having said this, some people approached the mayor to talk to him while the others left the place, Blake did the same once he realized that he no longer needed to be there and he walked away a little and then reached his home by teleportation.

"These days have been a bit busy, the festival will be a good respite, although I would have liked to have known about it earlier to improve my fishing skills a little more." And when he had just said that, his gaze managed to reach the small calendar that had exactly the mark on its date of the contest plus a small note to the side that must have been put by Shara.

'I made sure to mark the dates of the festivals so you wouldn't miss them, hehe.'

"Well, I guess I'll have to thank her later." Blake shuffled the calendar a bit as he realized there were several new festival names on it. After checking them out, he walked over to his bed and lay down, then looked up at the ceiling and a thought came to his mind…
