"Looks good, although there are still areas to improve." Taking one last look, Blake banished that information and closed his eyes with anticipation of what would happen the next day.
...
...
/Tuesday, Spring 15/7:00 AM/
After finishing taking care of the field full of cherry grass, Blake was wondering what to do, there was still time for the contest to start, so he went to the small mailbox outside his house to see if anyone needed help.
[Lumber help.
Client: Daria
I have no materials for my art! It's your time to shine, dear assistant!]
Reading what was written in that letter, Blake didn't have to figure out any riddles as he realized it was too simple, so he went back to the ground floor of the tree and felled several pieces of wood until he thought they were enough.
Following the same route, Blake arrived at the peculiar house surrounded by statues and colors that you would relate directly to a rainbow, and noticing how the door was half open, he opened it completely so that the same view as last time entered his eyes and he came closer to take a closer look at the surroundings.
"What a huge canvas, is it a self-portrait?" Despite the strange and abstract figures that were in the place, a huge canvas seemed to cover almost the entire wall with the image of the eccentric Daria. "Actually, Daria is very talented, I even feel as if at some point all these works could come to life."
"That's the feeling I always want to convey!!"
"Aaahhh!" And again, the town artist's entrance was accompanied by the startled Blake's scream of terror.
"It's such a bright day, everything seems alive and dazzling!" The joy in Daria's voice could be felt from miles away.
"Yes... Good morning, Daria."
"Oh, I hadn't seen you, what brings you here, dear assistant?"
"I'm here for your request." Blake did not take long to explain the reason for his presence.
"That's right, after all, you are my faithful assistant!"
'Yes, I think I won't be able to get rid of that title anymore...'
"Actually, I've run out of wood to carve, and inspiration has called me! Run and get me three pieces of the best quality wood! I can't let this feeling go away!" At least Daria's words were easy to understand.
"Well, I've already come prepared, these should be enough." Taking out the wooden pieces from his inventory, Daria expressed how satisfied she was.
"As expected of my assistant, you are always one step ahead of my needs! This will be enough to create a new masterpiece!"
"So, you do woodcarving too?"
"Of course, art comes in myriad forms and I must be able to master every one of them! Imagine if I could carve the Sharance tree, I could make a towering statue that would put all other wooden works to shame!" That worried Blake to the point that he had to refuse.
"I'm sure you shouldn't do that! The Sharance tree is like something sacred, plus it's where I live!"
"Hmmm... Just kidding…! For now..."
"I heard that!" Blake no longer knew if Daria was really joking.
"Anyway, thanks for your help assistant, hope to see you later at the fishing contest, I have work to do right now!"
"Eh... You're welcome." And leaving the house, Blake could hear some loud noises and things falling as if a disaster was happening inside, but hearing the characteristic scream full of energy, he thought that it was best not to worry.
[Request completed.]
'Well, at least I have this.' And after choosing one of the boxes in front of him, a face full of disappointment quickly formed on him. "Why is the only thing you give me a simple piece of iron?!"
That scream was directed at no one but the system, in the last few days, Blake had completed many different requests and in each one he had the opportunity to get a mystery box, but in all the attempts he had, the only thing he got was materials of monsters or useless things like colored grass.
He knew that everything was decided by chance, but still, he couldn't help but try to complain to that invisible entity that never really paid attention to him.
"Forget it, it's almost nine o'clock, I better go to the square before it's too late." Continuing on his way and seeing how the town was again enveloped in decorations and the bustle of tourists, Blake reached his destination just in time for the start of the contest.
