Chapter 121 - Day 121: Explosive adventure (III)

Blake's breathing was somewhat tired and he felt like some drops of sweat ran down his forehead after not stopping for a second, he was about to use one of his special moves to do some damage to the raccoon, but before he even finished that thought, he felt how the temperature suddenly increased by several degrees at the same time his attention was completely caught by the figure of Marian who was being surrounded by a peculiar reddish light and many runes were visible around her.

It was then that Blake realized that in her hands was the huge syringe that she carried everywhere, but right at the tip of it, a small sphere that seemed to be made entirely of fire was slowly taking shape at the same time that the surroundings were being affected by that phenomenon.

Blake could feel the heat flooding the entire area, for all he knew, what Marian was doing was probably a spell, but from his point of view, he couldn't tell if it was completely safe as more runes were swirling around her.

More sweat began to form on his forehead and his already tired breathing became heavier, he felt like that sphere a few meters from him was pressing him and that most likely he would not come out unscathed if he was hit by it.

The raccoon was not in a better condition, when it realized what was happening, it had subconsciously stopped attacking Blake and moved away a bit, it was experiencing the same sense of oppression at the same time its instincts continuously screamed at it to get away as fast as possible.

Blake even started to worry about what state Marian might be in since she was the one at the center of it, but his concerns had to take a backseat when he heard the scream coming from behind that huge red sphere.

"Explosion!!" Marian's voice echoed throughout the room as that same sphere had shot out from her syringe.

Everything seemed to happen in slow motion in front of Blake, he could notice how exactly that sphere had passed a few centimeters from his head only to turn around at that moment and see how it fell slowly in front of the fearful raccoon.

He didn't even hesitate a second when he ran with all the strength he had left and took Marian by the waist and then put her on his shoulder while remembering what her words were a few seconds before that were enough for him to understand what she was talking about it dealt with exactly the spell she had just used.

He used everything he had, made a dash, and jumped with his sword trying to advance as far as possible, he was even about to stop time to gain that extra time, but it was not possible when he heard the huge rumble that convinced him even more of the kind of situation, he had gotten himself into and that it would be a miracle if he came out whole this time.

"Boommmm!!!" The whole place shook after that huge explosion that surely the entire Privera forest managed to hear at the same time that the fire caused by it advanced at full speed through the corridor where Blake was running trying to save both his life and Marian's at the same time that he heard the screams of panic coming from her.

As he went along, he realized how the site was collapsing as well as the fact that water seemed to begin to flow from the cracks, and the simple reason for that was because he remembered that the ruins they were in were located just below the lake that was in the forest besides that just when he had to change corridors, the huge wave of flames was completely replaced by a set of water that was even faster.

"Run faster!! It almost caught up with us!" Now, Marian's voice sounded like one of utter panic that was impossible to ignore.

"Stop repeating the same thing, I can hear everything behind me!" Blake wasn't even paying attention to the tiredness of his body, the only thing on his mind was to get out of that place as quickly as possible and save his life and then complain to the world about his bad luck.

"Blake, can you throw a fireball behind you?!" Despite that, it seemed that Marian had come up with one of her brilliant ideas.

"Yes, but why do you want me to do that? I'm sure the water will eat it up like popcorn!" Blake wasn't sure why she was asking that question, but the feeling in the words she said next made him no longer care.

"Just trust me!" Blake didn't even hesitate, they were already in an incredibly bad situation and nothing could be harmful enough to make him regret it once again, so he threw his hand back and a ball of fire came out of it at the same time he heard Marian's voice and he realized that things really could be worse.

Blake had turned his head so that in his view only appeared as the small ball of fire compared to the huge volume of water it was about to collide with, and that only made him think that he could be in its place if he stopped running for a simple second.

He was cursing inwardly at the situation, and he told himself that if he got out of this, he'd walk away from the ruins for a while... Or maybe not.
