"Now! Jump!!"
"Wait, don't tell me that...!" Blake realized what she was trying to do, but his only thought was to jump at that moment when he saw exactly how Marian summoned a huge wave of wind and directed it at the fireball for the next instant everything was incredibly clear what was going to happen
"Boommm!!" A new explosion, although not as loud as before, was heard right behind Blake causing both him and Marian to be thrown into the air again as panicked screams came from both.
Again, you could see how the surroundings began to collapse, but luckily for Blake, the rubble and rocks that collapsed after that last explosion were continuously accumulating until a huge blockage was formed preventing the accumulation of water from continuing on its way. At the same time, new noise and dust filled the initial room where Blake's body was passed out while Marian's figure was on top of him.
It is not known how long it really was, but noticing how the moonlight entered through the holes in the ruins was enough to know that it was already late, and feeling the cold of the night on his body, Blake's mind returned to work at the same time that he was greeted by the voice of his dear friend.
[Defense skill, increased.]
"I'm dead?" Not feeling his body was the first thing that came out of him, but Marian's voice made him realize that wasn't the case.
"No, although I wouldn't rule it out yet, do you want a quick checkup?" Ignoring Marian's comments, Blake slowly struggled to a sitting position on the hard stone floor and felt exhaustion suddenly hit him once more.
"Ugh!" A groan of pain tore from him and Marian asked a rather obvious question.
"Does something hurt?"
"Yes, everything, for example..."
"Look on the good side, you're still whole, hehe." Looking at Marian's smiling face, Blake felt that it was a fairly common situation, but at the moment, it was not at all a situation where he could just calm down.
"Not fun to hear after almost dying twice in a row!"
"Yeah, I'm sorry about that, I didn't think the spell would be of that magnitude, in my defense, I'll say it was the first time I've used it." Marian lightly banged her head in an attempt to sound funny.
"That just gives me more reason to freak out!"
"Okay, okay, your next visit to the pharmacy will be free, what do you think?" Taking one last breath after calming down and releasing all of his pent-up feelings, Blake was finally able to stand up as he watched as one of the ruins' entrances had been completely blocked.
"Well, I should be thankful I'm still alive."
"Yes, although being with me you can't die."
"You know, I really doubt it." Blake was still a bit annoyed, but he was really glad to be alive.
"But, anyway, I must say that it was really exciting, I could feel all the emotion running through my body and how my heart was beating like crazy."
"That happens when you run for your life."
"But there's one question that hasn't left my mind." Marian didn't seem to be paying attention to Blake's comments, but she really did have a very big question on her mind.
"Which?"
"Why don't we just teleport out of the ruins?" And hearing those words, Blake didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
"Forget that, I was too flustered to think logically, besides, I don't think we would have had time to cast the spell. I was just following my will to live!" And after more teasing comments from Marian, they both finally came out of the forest and Blake walked her to the pharmacy.
…
"Now, promise me you won't say anything about this, if I know my grandmother well, she'll spend an hour lecturing me if she finds out what happened."
"Don't worry, I won't say anything about you making a huge explosion and we almost died in the forest." Blake gave her his word as he replayed all the past events.
"Fine, but why did you have to specify it so much?" And when Marian finished her question, she felt fear deep inside her as she heard a new voice.
"Silly girl! I knew it was you!"
"Grandma, but...!"
"I told you not to use that spell yet! Now come in, I have many things to tell you!" Marjorie had already grabbed Marian by her neck to drag her inside, and it was then that Marian realized what had happened.
"Blake, you...!" In front of Blake, it could be seen how Marian was taken against her will, and screams of horror came from her as the door was closed indicating that only a dark future awaited her.
"I didn't know that revenge was so sweet." Obviously, Blake had spoken more on purpose, seeing Marian's face of despair was enough for a sense of satisfaction to fill his body and cross her name off his list of revenge.
And once he realized that there was nothing left for him to do in that place, he headed to the town inn after noticing how his new clothes and his body were covered in dust and a burning smell emanated from him.
…
"Welcome!"
"Hello, Pia..."
"You don't need to say anything more! The bath is always ready for emergencies, please use it, Ahaha!" Quickly thanking Pia, Blake followed the same steps as last time and went straight into the bath to relax in the hot water afterward, avoiding falling asleep like that time as he remembered everything that had happened that day.
'Now that I remember... I should have kept in my inventory the things that the raccoon stole... I hope they didn't explode too... I guess the Blake of the future will take care of that.' And forgetting about the problems, he closed his eyes and let the warmth of the water surround him, making only the sight of his figure and the stars visible at that moment.
