Chapter 111 - Day 111: A normal day (I)

A light gray line had come out of Blake's hand as he lowered it and it was shot with great speed in the direction of the attack coming towards him. The size of the cut that the silver-eyed boy made was several times larger, but contrary to what anyone would think, the moment the two attacks collided, a roar was heard that would be enough to alert the entire forest at the same time that a battle began between both attacks to determine the winner.

The pressure and phenomena that occurred in the surroundings made the situation even more unique, the gusts of wind came out of the impact making it impossible to approach while cracks appeared throughout the place that implied that at any moment it might collapse, but that only lasted for less than a breath when the result was visible to everyone.

Even though the slash that the silver-eyed boy made was obviously a runic ability that used the earth element as a base and it was noticeably strong, in the end, it couldn't resist the gray line that Blake released when it was pierced and the gray line continued on its way until it was right in front of the boy.

He was greatly surprised by what he had just seen, he was completely sure that Blake would not be able to stop his attack, so seeing how that line was a short distance from him, the boy quickly raised his sword in the hope of stopping it causing a new sound will resonate throughout the place.

Just as he blocked it, he quickly realized that it had been a mistake, even using all of his strength and runic energy he couldn't help but be pulled back as he felt his arms go numb little by little and that movement did not seem to stop.

The pain was running through his entire body and he knew it, but if he was distracted for any reason, he was sure that things would not end well for him. That line kept pushing him no matter how much effort he put in, he even heard how his arms made strange sounds as they tried to withstand all that power, and once he realized that his back was against the wall, he used the last bit of energy he was left with the sole objective of resisting at that moment, but even though he believed that this would be the end of him, the sight before him was quickly replaced by the ruins completely full of rubble and destruction everywhere.

Just then, the attack had completely dissipated causing the silver-eyed boy to be able to breathe again. He looked at Blake and realized that even though he was better off than him was, Blake was holding his arm with an expression that only conveyed pain.

'Damn, why didn't anyone tell me it would hurt like this?' Even though Blake had successfully performed that move, it had apparently come with some side effects, it felt as if his entire arm was about to break and an enormous amount of pain coursed through him as he realized that his runic energy had been reduced by an enormous amount, but he expressed no further pain once he saw the state the silver-eyed boy was in.

He still hadn't stopped thinking about Blake's attack, it really seemed that nothing would be able to stop it and he told himself that maybe he was just lucky that it disappeared at that precise moment, but leaving that aside, he felt like everything his body was heavy, he could barely move his arms from the position they were in and he barely had any runic energy left to do anything else, plus he still had trouble breathing normally, and seeing how Blake was looking at him again, he knew that the result was obvious.

They both fell silent again, they were still focused on recovering as much as they could in case one of them thought to continue the fight, but just when only their breathing could be heard, the sound of the boy's sword breaking was enough for everything to end.

"Heh, looks like I have to accept that you won this time." The simple laugh that came out of him was enough for both of them to realize that the battle was over.

"You say that like you lost on purpose." Blake was still holding his arm as he said those words loud enough for him to hear.

"You can think that if you want." The tension between the two seemed to have disappeared at that moment, both were still looking at each other, but it didn't take long for the silver-eyed boy to start moving again and move away from the area, not without first saying a few last words and then disappear in a halo of light. "By the way, what is your name?"

"Blake, my name is Blake."

"Hmm... I'll remember." What had just happened left Blake with a host of emotions that he couldn't digest, he didn't know why that person started attacking him in the first place and the pain he kept feeling in his arm didn't understand it made him think clearly, he had used that runic ability mainly because it was the strongest move he possessed at the moment, but realizing the effects it had, he reminded himself not to use it lightly again.

[Would you like to learn the "Screw rock" spell?]

[Would you like to learn the "Dessert ripper" runic ability?]

Those notifications shouldn't be much of a surprise to Blake, but something that really caught his attention was that, for the first time, the system was asking him if he wanted to learn a spell without needing a scroll, he didn't understand why it had happened this time, but he didn't complain and decided to learn both skills.

Noticing that there was no longer anything around that he could consider a real danger, he quickly used a cure spell to make that pain go away and teleported out of the place until he was back at the huge tree that was his home.

"Sigh… Luckily apple juice is enough to recover runic energy… Now, who exactly was that person?" He kept asking himself that same question, as far as he remembered, it was the first time he had seen that boy, he was sure that it was not someone who lived in the village, which made it even more strange that he entered the Privera forest. "What was he doing in that place? From what I saw, it seems that he was also a runic... Hmm... Maybe if I ask in the town someone will know about him."

He had already reached the center of town and asked several people the same question, but he received the same answer from everyone without exception.

"It seems that no one really knows him, maybe he was just there by chance." Taking that as the most logical answer, Blake gave a slight sigh and thought about what he could do next since he had no more tasks for today, and he only needed to look around for his attention to find the peculiar plank of wood that rested in the sun.
