Chapter 48 - Day 48: Elemental affinity (II)

"It's a recipient crystal, you just have to flow your runic energy to it, and depending on your affinity will shine a different color. If it shines with a red light is that your affinity is fire, if it is yellow it will be earth, the blue color for water, green for wind, black for dark, white for light, pink for life, and cyan for space." And listening Instructions of his master, Blake did what she said, concentrated, and felt as if he was in his body the runic energy began to move little by little in the direction of the small crystal he had in his hand, he thought it would be difficult since he had never done it, but for his surprise, he felt that the whole process was very natural, and like him, Marjorie also was very curious to know what would happen. "Hmm... How strange, the crystal would normally glow as soon as the slightest amount of runic energy entered it."

And despite her thoughts, these were interrupted by whatever was happening in front of her. Meanwhile, Blake was not fully aware at that time, he was feeling every stretch of energy in his body and was experiencing something new for he did not know how to explain.

"What's this?" The reason for that question, was because he was no longer in the pharmacy room at that time, even though he had not moved from himself, his mind seemed to have reached an unknown place to him.

The site was simple to explain, it was practically a dark area where the only thing you could see were eight threads of different colors floating and flowing in what appeared to be the complete nothing. Blake, despite the strange situation in which he was, did not get nervous since he actually had a feeling too familiar with those strange threads while he saw them flowing without stopping. Once he saw those strange objects more carefully, he realized that each one had its characteristics and related quickly with what Marjorie had previously told him.

Each thread had its own color and this was equal to that of the various elements that exist in the world which made them relate to them, Blake focused on the red thread that was closer to him and, as if he was called, it went further closer to Blake. Just when he was less than ten steps away, Blake felt as if he had just been put into an oven and even though he didn't think he had a physical body at the time, large beads of sweat fell off his forehead while feeling the scorching heat that thread gave off.

To leave that situation, he quickly moved away as best he could be making that feeling go away quickly. Blake managed to calm down enough and after a few seconds he began to move towards a blue thread, and as with the red thread, walked up to Blake by itself and, like a deja vu, he experienced an equal feeling unpleasant, unlike the red thread, the blue thread gave off an almost unbearable coldness. Blake felt his muscles stiffen and holding his own breath was difficult, he was sure that if he remained a single second more, he would become an ice statue, so he hadn't taken long to try to escape again.

And as if he knew Blake's situation, the blue thread walked away from itself, causing Blake to breathe comfortably and the heat he had lost returned to his body, and at that precise moment, an idea was formed in his head of him.

'What was not supposed to be just discovering what my elementary affinity is? Why is this happening?... Or, is it...? Perhaps these are the elements inside me?' That idea was formed from the nothing, but once he took a closer look at where he was and how familiar it felt with the energy that each thread gave off, little by little it took more sense. 'So that means that my greatest affinity is not fire or water? Will I have to try each of these threads?'

Thinking about everything so he had passed when approaching the last two threads, Blake had a face of suffering and resignation. He did not think too much and believed that the best thing would be to finish everything as fast as he could and as soon as he had the slightest feeling of danger, he would move away at the first opportunity he had.

Blake did what he planned and went from thread to thread continuously. After moving away from the blue thread, he approached the green color where to his misfortune, several gusts of wind seemed to cut every fiber from his body, after that failure came to the yellow color where he did not have a second when he began to feel like it If his body dried little by little while it was hard for him to move, in the white color one he couldn't see while he felt how the light that it gave off tried to enter his body. The black thread created a sense of deep fear that seemed to drill in his mind making him panic, the pink thread began to revitalize his body and Blake felt very comfortable at first, but once he realized that the energy of his body did not seem to stop to the point of feeling as if it were to exploit, he walked away as fast as he could until he entered the area of the last thread present and he couldn't help but shout what he felt at that moment.

"Each of those damn threads was nothing more than a deadly trap, instead of trying to check if they had an affinity with me, it seemed that they tried to kill me in their place, if one day I can somehow get my revenge, I swear I will!"
