Max, Illyanna, and Agnes walked to the kitchen for dinner, chatting and laughing as they went. They were looking forward to the meal, as it was always a feast when Matterinna was in charge of the cooking.
As they entered the kitchen, they were greeted by the delicious aromas of roasting meats and fresh bread. Matterinna was at the stove, stirring a pot of simmering soup.
"Good evening, my little ones," she said, turning to smile at them. "How was your day?"
Max, Illyanna, and Agnes all chimed in at once, eager to share their various adventures and discoveries. Matterinna listened with interest, nodding and smiling at each of them in turn.
When they finished talking, Matterinna beckoned them over to the table, where bowls of steaming soup and platters of bread and cheese awaited them.
As they began to eat, Max couldn't help but notice the way Matterinna moved around the kitchen, effortlessly preparing food and keeping everything running smoothly. Despite her youth and beauty, she was like a mother figure to them, always looking out for their well-being.
"Thank you for this delicious meal, Matterinna," Max said, wiping his mouth with a napkin.
Matterinna smiled. "It was my pleasure, Max. You and your sisters are like family to me."
Illyanna giggled. "You're like our mom, Matterinna!" she exclaimed.
Agnes nodded shyly. "We love having you take care of us," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Matterinna's eyes softened. "I love taking care of you, my darlings," she replied, her voice warm and gentle.
Max watched the exchange, feeling a sense of gratitude for the woman who had become such an integral part of their lives. They were lucky to have her, he thought, and he made a mental note to thank her more often for all she did.
As they finished their meal and began to clear the table, Max, Illyanna, and Agnes all felt a sense of contentment and warmth. They knew that no matter what challenges they might face in the world, they would always have each other and Matterinna to rely on.
