Antrodos and Laussinna rode their horses through the rain-soaked countryside, their thoughts heavy with the knowledge that they had missed yet another important moment in their children's lives.
"We should have been there for their birthday," Antrodos said, his voice filled with regret. "It's not right that we're always away on duty."
Laussinna nodded, her face equally solemn. "I know. But we have a duty to the kingdom. We have to protect our people."
"I understand that," Antrodos replied, "but what about our duty as parents? Our children need us too."
"I know," Laussinna said softly. "I miss them so much. But we have to find a way to balance our duties. We can't neglect one for the other."
Antrodos sighed, feeling a deep sense of guilt wash over him. "I just wish we could be there for them more. I don't want them to grow up without us."
Laussinna reached over and took his hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "We'll find a way, my love. We'll make it work. For our children's sake."
Antrodos nodded, his heart heavy with emotion. He knew that his wife was right. They had to find a way to balance their duty as Royal Guards with their duty as parents.
As they rode their horses towards their home, Antrodos and Laussinna couldn't help but think of their children, and the moments they had missed. But they also felt a sense of determination. They would find a way to be there for their children, no matter what. They were a family, and nothing could break their bond.
