(If you didn't read my note from yesterday this chapter will be from a different perspective)
She was going to die
That was all Daiyu could think about, she was going to die, and she was going to do so because she had been a fool and had not been carful enough.
Now as a demonic cultivator and part of the Ghoul Ape Sect main family she had had grown up to expect certain amounts of treachery, even "pure" cultivators were known for being a petty and twofaced bunch, but Demonic cultivators were marginally worse. They were known for torturing their enemies and even going as far as to use them as cultivation resources after smiling at their faces and calling them brother
However, it was a well-Known rule that the manipulation of a disciples trial result was punishable by a very painful death, so she hadn't expected to be her allowed supplies to be sabotaged before she even entered the Blood Forest.
Only around one in thirty disciples survived the trial but those who did were allowed access to the teachings of a teacher of their choice making the risk worth it so the idea of tampering with these already perilous trials was considered a disrespect to the prospective teachers
After years within the dark life of political intrigue and espionage she had believed she had made a few trusted allies, but the destruction of her supplies said otherwise, only her small circle of trusted subordinates had access meaning not only had she been ruined but she had also been betrayed
Thankfully for the past few days the heavens had smiled upon her or at least had grown tired of cursing her as she had been gifted with a streak of good luck!
Beast attacks had seemingly stopped and she had even stumbled upon multiple fresh carcasses with fully intact spiritual cores! Which on its own was disturbing but judging from how their throats had been cut cleanly and apparently without the animal realizing she could judge that it had likely been from a sword or long dagger and done by a skilled professional
This meant the possibility that she had a hidden ally! She assumed this was due to someone, maybe her father discovering the destruction of her rations and materials and decided to make up for the loss?
However forgetting what her father had taught her from a young age she had lost her vigilance and because of so she had woken up from the branch of the enormous tree she had made home to find her small makeshift tent and the belongings she had collected within her time here on fire! The culprits had dragged her out of the on-fire tent while she was disoriented and all she felt was a pain in her head as it went black
When she regained conciseness, she found herself bound and gagged facing three figures, one that she was familiar with and other to not so much.
The first two she didn't recognize but considering how they acted and looked at both her and their leader, one could assume that they were simply nameless nobodies, not even worth her attention and clearly just lackies for the boy in front of her…
This one she recognized and how could she not, after all she had seen that smarmy smile any number of times, Hu Bolin the grandson of Master Hu the sect's 4th elder. He had on multiple occasions attempted to court her and she had rejected him every time
He was simply disgusting, in all fairness so were most demonic cultivators but he was especially repulsive. After he had attempted to court her for the first time, she had made one of her servants run a background check on the boy. He appeared to have the3 nasty habit of brainwashing those he was interested in, either boy or girls, young or old he didn't care, before playing with their minds or bodies and ultimately eating them alive…RAW like a female mantis after procreation
Now he was standing triumphant in front of her having taken her weapons and tied her up with the combination of a use of drugs in her water and his personal schemes
How did she know this?
Because he wouldn't shut up about it
Interrupting his evil monologue, she said harshly
"So, what now? Are you going to bore me to death? Either kill me or let me go, either way I dot want to be around you. Otherwise, I wouldn't have rejected your pathetic attempts at asking for my hand so many times!!"
As she spoke and insulted, he seemed to go silent, and his face turned a mixture of red and black, leaning towards her until he was nearly nose to nose with her angrily spoke to her face voice trembling with rage "You're Courting Death bitch!"
{A.N Oh my god he Said it!!!}
"Do you have any idea what is going to happen to you? the trial doesn't end for another week and we have you all to ourselves" he whispered to her in a revolting tone indicating toward his two thugs who appeared to be literally drooling
Resisting the urge to throw up in his face, she made a show of squirming under his repulsive gaze she began to move her hands toward the hidden knife in her dress ready to cut his throat at moment's notice the second he untied her.
"Do you really think I'll allow you to touch me!?, I could snap these ropes in a second if I wanted to!" she bluffed knowing full well that this was nothing but a ploy. She was beginning to despair at the thought of what was about to happen to her
He only looked even more confident and laughed at her "go ahead then! Ha-ha those are ropes made form the hair of a class 4 beast!!" he chortled
That was when she began to lose hope and as his disgusting hand began to reach towards her, she began to prey to any and all gods to save her or at least free her from the ropes
"Please whoever has been helping me, I beg of you to protect me just this once. I have never needed protection before, and I swear I never will again so I will give you whatever you want" she screamed towards the sky, causing the three boys to become confused
Three things happened after she said this…
One… Hu Balin turned so pale that he seemed as if he had eaten the very moon itself as something that she couldn't see appeared behind her and let out a hiss that sounded as it were from hell itself sending shivers down everyone presents spine
"Kekeke Deeeeeaaaaaaal"
The next two things happened almost instantly after; her ropes were cut away as if they were nothing but blade of grass along with the hand of Hu that had been reaching towards her face
And Zhao Daiyu knew that she had been helped by something that was definitely not human
