On the main street of the Third Western Residential District, a beautiful woman with a pointed light orange hat and a slightly revealing outfit walks confidently with a mysterious smile on her face.
The night sky illuminates her beauty, making her stand out. Her dress are as pristine as new, like the altercation awhile ago haven't happened. Her peach hair sways on the moonlight, showing the smoothness of each strands of her hair.
She is like the queen of the night as she confidently walks on the paved roads, walking straight to the manor on the distance.
"Haha, so that's the manor huh... I hope someone is capable of harming me there!~"
Her eyes lit up in excitement, looking at the one the locals proclaimed as the strongest guild in this district. She have some expectations about their strength, having heard it by those people that she "Interrogated".
She is excited. This is a whole new world where no one knows her identity. A new place to encounter never before seen principles and sights. She is happy that she managed to get to this world before the other witches.
She is also curious if there is something in this place that can kill an Immortal. This is a whole new world, so something like that might be possible.
'Well, I should finish this one for now. After this I can do what I want!~' She thought to herself.
William have underestimated how much she likes him. Merzalfit sees him in a positive light, and likes him enough that she won't make trouble for him.
The thing that slips up on William's mind is that the world where she originated all hates the witches. The only perspective he got of her is the encounters from the people who have the knowledge of these witches.
Which means she is always hated there and no one truly wants to be associated to her. There are those who worships her and the other beings who are near in her strength or equal to her, but they don't see each other as friends and more like dangerous friends who will backstab each other on the first opportunity.
William is the very first person who treated her like a person. He is harsh, but he is not harsh enough that he always promised to kill her. He is just acting like she is somewhat annoying but is still taking care of her somewhat.
It is her first time being treated to food, and also not being kicked out of the house with a hurl of abusive words. He is just telling her to stop coming and come back to her world, like he just felt she is annoying.
It might not be what he is trying to convey to her, but it is how she sees his actions. William is too gentle to him compared to the people from her world.
She have taken a liking to the people of the guild. There is Kiryo who silently acknowledges her presence without talking too much, and then there is Elio who is overly hostile to her, but is so stuck to her beliefs that she is not attacking her because she is not doing something bad.
It's a novel experience, and she wanted to stay for a bit more and see how this guild progresses.
So for now, she have to help them. Now that she has been registered and all, she would like to show off.
Imagining the face of Elio when she comes there to the rescue makes her chuckle in amusement. She thinks this will be very interesting.
She stifled a laugh as her gaze focuses on the manor, her eyes lighting up in excitement and malice.
~~o~~
"This is boring."
"Stop complaining! What if some of the main members hears you!"
"Tch. I can't really help it. There is nothing happening!"
That's what the two guards in front of the gate are saying, talking to each other in the idle and peaceful night.
They are just the lower members of this guild who aren't even seen as a proper member. These people are known as the Interns.
This is practiced widely on the whole nation, and many guilds used these precepts for running their guild.
The concept is like that of a pyramid. There is the Guild Leader, then there are the Guild Administrators. The third are the Guild Generals, and below them are the Guild Officials. Then there are the Elite Members and the Normal Members, which are below the Guild Officials. Finally, there are the Guild Interns.
Interns are those who works odd jobs like being a guard, being a janitor, a cook, or just being the handyman of those above them. Basically, they are the lowest one from the ladder.
Being Interns, they can be called as temporary members because they only have a grace period of three years. If they can't show any of the requirements of that specific guild that they joined in, they will be kicked out of the guild regardless of their willingness.
Revoking their affiliation is simple. They can just go to a specialist who can edit a Guild Card and erase everything written there. That's how they can effectively null their participation to their guild.
These two are guarding this gate. They don't know much about the affairs of the guild, being Interns. They felt that they are extremely lucky being accepted as Interns on this guild.
It is a D Rank Guild. The strongest guild in this residential district. They also live in this district so they are lucky enough to be accepted here. The salary for Interns are ten silver coins every day, which is more than enough to live and also have some leisure while they are at it.
That doesn't mean they have to be so proud about it. One wrong word, and they might suddenly get kicked out.
It is widely known that most high tier guilds are arrogant. They always look down on those who have no talent or are just low in ranking.
"Hm? What's that?"
"What are you talking about?"
"Look, there is a beautiful girl coming to this place!"
The two of them smiled lecherously, seeing the appearance of the witch. The way she walks is enough to cause their hearts to beat erratically. They are becoming excited as she got closer.
"Hello miss. What are you doing here?" One of them asked with a malicious smile.
"Oya? It is a nice night isn't it, gentlemen?" The beautiful witch gave them a bewitching smile. "As for my purpose. Did you see a small girl being taken here?"
"Huh? I dunno..." He tries to get closer to her with a smile. "But maybe I might recall if you try and accompany us?"
Her eyes flash coldly for a moment before she quickly changes her expression into that of a sweet smile.
"Oya? I think I'll just do it for myself!~"
Before they can understand what is happening, they suddenly found themselves flying on the air and zooming to the walls at the doors of the mansion at incredible speeds. The gate they are guarding awhile ago seems to have been pried open by their thrown bodies.
"Eugh!"
"Argh!"
The two of them slams to the door, opening it aggressively. The people that are present on that room are alarmed at the sudden entrance of these two.
On the forcefully opened gate, Merzalfit can be seen with her hand raised like she just pushed someone. She is grinning as she gaze at the mansion, an aura of malice is behind her.
"Let this show begins!" She declares with a lick on her lips.
~~o~~
Above the skies of that mansion, William is currently overlooking how Merzalfit deals with the problem. He is using another surveillance drone.
There are five surveillance drones that Kiryo left in here. The one he usually has been destroyed, so only four remains.
"Ugh... I hope they don't ask for a refund..." He mutters to himself.
His eyes focuses on the screen as he looks at the many Red Wolf Guild Members surrounding the witch. The witch seems to be amused and is playful as she spread her arms. She seems to be trying to tell them that they can make the first move.
Insulted, the people on the mission attack all at once, stabbing her with their swords. Just the sight of a girl being turned into a porcupine by their swords causes him to wince.
"Ugh... seeing it in real life is just disgusting! How did she even see this as amusing?" He whines in disgust.
In the story of Sin Factor, Merzalfit occasionally does things like letting people attack her first before she did the next move. Her reasons for doing so has not been clearly defined.
There are theories from the fandom that she kept doing that just to mess with people, while others says that she might be looking for a way to kill herself.
The last reason is less likely because the game haven't portrayed her like that. There are no indications showing that she is in agony of her eternal life, or she has been desperately looking for it. She likes to troll people around and cause whatever chaos she can do.
Regardless of the reason, he didn't want to see that in personal. Even if he knows that she is a strong witch, seeing a beautiful girl bleeding and being stabbed repeatedly is just extreme.
He might have no qualms about killing people, but that doesn't mean he likes seeing mutilations. Anyone who likes seeing that have a mental problem.
The fight continues on the screen. It seems like the Red Wolf Members are shocked as they see her shrugging off all their strikes like it was nothing. Even with their lightning spells or fire spells, she is just taking it with an amuse smile.
"Ugh.... she is playing with them." He felt like palming his face.
She looks so unbothered, like she is not even there to rescue someone. It felt like she is on a school field trip and is just there to have some fun.
"Did I even do the right thing?" He mutters to herself in wonder.
Finally, the witch seems to have been satisfied with their participation. She uses her intense pressure to halt them from moving, making it look like the world has been suspended in their perception.
He shakes his head at the status of these people.
He decided to lower the drone until it is besides the witch. Merzalfit seems to be taking her time, terrifying the frozen people with her laugh and stare.
"Hey, aren't you going to look for Elio?"
["Oya? Sorry sorry... I'll get right into it!~"]
She sounds so nonchalant that it is pissing him off, but he decided to calm himself down and let her do her own thing.
"Please do it quick. I am worried about her."
The witch looks at the drone, which feels like she is looking at him on the screen. Her face looks amused.
["Haha, I might not be seeing you right now, but imagining your concern makes you look cute!~"]
"Shut up! Just do it already!"
["Alright. As you wish, Guild Leader!~"] She said with a wink.
'She's messing with me!' He thought with a click of his tongue.
Merzalfit goes to one of the members that have been frozen by her, then she asks him where Elio is located.
It seems like he is not that loyal as he quickly told her about the location of the basement where they kept the people their guild takes a fancy on.
After asking about that, the witch flicks her finger. Suddenly, every frozen people loses their consciousness.
Then she enters the manor. As for him, he decided to follow besides her using the surveillance drone.
