The people in the manor are panicking. They are currently being attacked by a monster who seems incapable of dying.
"What is happening?" Simeon asked one of the people running around.
"Second Captain! Someone is attacking our base!"
Another explosion occurs on the other side of the mansion.
"I can see that! Tell me why are you not doing anything?" He asked angrily.
"It's impossible! She just can't die!"
He clicks his tongue before pushing him out of the way.
"Useless!" He utters in frustration as he rushes to the scene.
He can hear the sounds of battle on the hallway, so he quickly runs there with his fiery speed.
Simeon have a skill called Speed Burst. It is a fire elemental skill that boosts his speed tremendously. It also makes him a bit stronger whenever he activates it.
It took him a few moments before he arrives at the hallways, only to see the last of their members crumbling to the ground, unconscious.
The witch who have done that turns to him with a smirk on her face, looking like she is mocking him.
"How dare you!"
It's been a long time since he saw someone blatantly disrespecting his guild by attacking it. The last time he remembers is when the B Rank Guild, Draupnir, have humiliated their leader like it is nothing.
"Oh? Aren't you the one who stomps the poor little hero's head?"
He glares at her. "So your her companion? Your pretty brave, to attack here alone!"
He activated his Speed Burst, releasing some streaks of flame in his body. Then he glares at her as he takes a running stance.
"Of course. It seems like no one can harm me after all!~"
"I'll make you eat those words!"
Simeon rushes at her with incredible speed. It looks like he is a streak of light as he quickly appears besides her, his hand at the ready to grab her face.
She didn't even resist as he slams her head to the floor and then slides it to the ground, causing a line of destruction on the carpeted floor.
A trail of blood can be seen from the line of destruction, her body is lying on the floor with her head deep on the ground. He looks at her crumpled form and laughs at her.
"Hah! So she's just a weakling after all.... huh??"
Surprisingly, the fallen witch just stood up using some sort of mysterious force. It felt like some forcefield is letting her stand up as she just patted her dress before looking at him.
"Is that all?"
Hearing her mocking tone makes him feel insulted. He quickly takes a stance to defeat her once more.
"You seem to be more tougher than I thought. Then how about this?"
He once again turns into a streak of light, his speed alone making it so that he can't be followed by the naked eye.
In a split second, he is already besides her and have punched her in the stomach. Then, he did a barrage of strikes from different parts of her body. After hundreds of hits, he appears in front of her as her battered body is just falling to the ground, his fist just near his waist as he charges up all of his flames in this punch.
"Explosion Punch!"
He releases the punch, hitting her with the charged force of his fire element. As the fist made contact on her flesh, it explodes, causing the mansion to shake for awhile.
The witch's body flew to the hallway and goes straight to the other side of the mansion, hitting the wall and even destroying it. The momentum of her thrown body slows down and she descended on the gardens of the mansion, now battered and full of soot due to the explosive power of his strike.
Within the mansion, he takes the time to breathe. He felt so tired doing that move.
He have used up most of his magical reserves. He can only use it once, so he decided to use it now before that witch even thought of fighting back.
"Now she's truly dead..." He muttered to himself, sure of his victory against the witch.
"I'm not so sure about that."
"Wha-!?"
His head turns quickly besides him and his eyes widened when he saw the witch that he just beat up standing there with a smirk on her face. Even with her clothes in tatters, caked in blood, and is covered in soot and dirt, she is still there standing and looking down on him.
"How!?"
She giggles like his confusion is amusing. "I am the Witch of Disaster. Nothing can kill me. Well, nothing that I am aware of." She answered without any concern.
Simeon can't believe it. His barrage of strikes chained with Explosive Punch is enough to kill a person a hundred times. He is confident that even a dragon will die by his fist.
"Impossible! I don't believe this!"
He is in denial.
He roars at her as he once again tries to strike her. Even with his tired body, he wanted to destroy the fact that she can shrug his strongest attack.
She sighs. "This is boring." Then she stares at him.
He froze.
'What is happening!? Why can't I move?'
He tries to move his body, even using his Speed Burst to force his body out of his situation. It didn't do anything at all.
'Why is it silent? Why does it feel like nothing is moving at all!?' He is internally panicking as he struggles to move.
But not even a nerve is moving from his muscle. He is just frozen there, like a statue standing on that floor with his eyeballs only moving and his teeth gritted.
Merzalfit looks at him in the face, making their face closer as her eyes stares at his.
Just looking at her eyes, he felt something primal within him. It's like his base instinct is screaming at him to run, to scream, or to beg for mercy.
A realization occurs on his brain as he was forced to stare at her aquamarine eyes. Her eyes seems to be staring deep into his soul.
'She's a demon!'
With that realization, he fell unconscious. His eyes turning up until only the white of his eyeballs can be seen.
~~o~~
Another explosion occurs, causing the ground the shake. Even with this situation, Elio is just sitting on the bed with a calm expression. The only companion she have is the weight of the shackles on her limbs and neck.
She felt some hope in her heart, thinking that Kiryo or the Guild Leader is here to save her.
She patiently waits for the one who is going to save her, not even bothered at the weights on her limbs.
After waiting for awhile, she heard the sounds of footsteps outside the room before the door has been suddenly slammed open. The one who enters the room makes her eyes widened in shock.
"Why you...!?"
Merzalfit swipes her hair to the side before smirking at her. Her tattered dress and pitiful state is already gone, and she looks pristine once more.
"Oya? Are you surprise?"
"Don't tell me...!?"
"Hahaha... yes. I'm now a part of that guild!~"
Elio looks at her in disbelief. She can't believe that the Guild Leader will really recruit the witch.
"I refuse to believe this!"
"Haha... no. You'll just have to suck it up!~"
"Grr..."
Merzalfit giggles once more. "Okay. I'll stop teasing you now."
She raises her hand and flicks her fingers. Suddenly, the weight in her limbs and her neck suddenly vanishes. She can feel her powers unrestrained once more.
She stands up and noticed that even the dull ache of being with those weights have also vanished. She felt like she is more healthier than ever.
She glares at the witch.
"What did you do?"
"What? Are you curious?"
"Just answer me!"
She chuckles at her expression. "You know, you are so cute when your angry... okay I'll say it, so stop releasing those water. I don't want to clean my clothes again..."
She raises her hand with an amused look, trying to placate her as she looks at her dangerously, some water droplets are forming on the surroundings.
"While I explain it to you, why don't we leave this place?"
"Hmph...." She just snorted but complied to her suggestion.
As they are walking out of this room, Merzalfit decided to explain to her what she just did.
She uses her Sin Factor. The Sin of Indulgence.
The power to turn everything lax.
It is an ultimate power that forces the world to become inactive. By using this power, she can cause a lot of things to happen in her vicinity.
Like for example, she can stop everyone from moving by making the concept of "Movement" to become "Lazy". She can teleport everywhere by making the concept of "Space" become "Lax". There are many ways she can use her Sin Factor.
As for those spirit suppressing shackles, she just turn them inactive, fooling the world so it sees those objects as already "Dead". Because those objects have met their ends, they will just crumble into nothingness.
"What a disgusting power..."
"Ow, your words pains me." Merzalfit replied while exaggeratedly holding her heart with a hurt expression.
"Stop it! Your not funny!"
As they are walking, the surveillance drone meets up with them.
["I'm glad that your okay!"]
"William, why did you ask for this wench's help!?"
["Well... she is the only one I can ask for. I am worried about you so I take her offer."]
"But she's evil!"
["Not really. She's just maliciously mischievous, but she's not totally evil."]
She heard the witch laughing on the side, making her feel mocked.
"I can't accept this! This is against the teaching of the Words of Light!"
Behind the screen, William is curious about that.
["Words of Light... I don't recall hearing anything about that...?"]
It is true, he didn't have any knowledge about it.
The only thing he knows is that the player uses the Heromaker, which the player can rename whenever they wanted. The Queen's Kingdom is being threatened by the Evil Forces, and the heroes chosen by the Heromaker must face these fearsome creatures.
Their enemies are the Demon King, The Demon God, and the Source of Evil. Nothing else has been stated other than a series of stages where the player must control a total of four characters to fight against different monsters.
There is not word about the Word of Light there. So this is a new info for him.
"Of course, the Word of Light is the heavensent words of the One True God himself! It is the absolute law that everyone must take to heart!"
["Well... whatever that is, that's not relevant to what is happening now. You need saving, so she will help you regardless if you like it or not!"]
She pouted. "Fine! But I still won't acknowledge her!"
With that, she glances at the witch besides her. The witch is patiently waiting for her to finish her conversation. She seems to be content just hearing them arguing.
"Are you done now?"
"Yes." She said in a flat tone.
"Great! Now let's leave this manor before something happens!"
They have already arrived at the entrance unimpeded. So they are just going to walk pass there...
["Wait! I can see someone approaching you fast!"]
With his warning, the witch quickly covers Elio behind her. Elio is surprised when the witch did so, even though she is being openly hostile to her.
A strong gust of wind assails them, which Merzalfit repels with just a swipe of her arm.
On the hallway where no one was not supposed to be, there are three people standing there. In the middle is a person in a robe, his chiseled body is a bit exposed. On both of his side are two other men who are fairly handsome.
"Girl. I suggest you stop doing that before you are put in a world of pain. I'll make sure you won't feel anything if you surrender!"
The one in the middle, Gustav, threatened as he cracks his knuckles. He is glaring at her with an intense stare, his eyes looking like those of a wolf.
"Oya? Why don't you make me?"
Merzalfit is confident. She is just giving them an amused look, like she is not even worried about the three obviously strong people in front of her.
The fight is not over yet. She still needs to fight these three before they can leave this place.
