"The dream?" He nodded, a small smile on his face. I mirrored it, then urged him to eat.
He ate like a very healthy child, and except for the rain of compliments, he said nothing and focused on his food.
"So, what now?" I asked as I swallowed a bite and he looked up, the corner of his lips smeared by the juice from the steak.
I leaned forward and kissed it off then sat back. He looked positively surprised, and it was a look I loved to see on him.
"Isn't that just hot?" He said a little absent mindedly, and I laughed. "I think we should go together."
"To?"
"Your dad's place. We will go and come back with him the same day, even though I know it will be hard for him to decide to leave the house he and your mother shared. Too many memories. But she is gone and the memories will only haunt him, so it's better this way. What do you think?" He took another bite and looked up at me.
"Well, It's just...are you really okay?"
