It's full moon now. I didnt know or realize when I let go of the bags I had been holding and ran to the side of the road, having to stop as a car passed by. Once it was gone and the road was clear, I ran with all I had, to the small collection of trees on the other side. It didn't seem spooky from when I had seen it back then, but as I got closer, it looked denser than ever.
I brought out my phone and turned on the flashlight, then started to walk slowly into the clearing. I tried to envision where he had gone from earlier, but all of it just looked the same and dark, and I just resorted to letting him know I was here.
It did bug my mind, however. He had once shifted in front of me and was simply a large cuddly dog through it. So why did he feel the need to hide now? Was it because this transition was beyond his control? Was it because he was scared of what he would become?
I swallowed down all negative thoughts and walked forward. "Kyran?"
