CHAPTER 2
THIRD POV
"Jade?" Her mother called out when she noticed she had spaced out.
"Huh?"
Although it seemed as though she understood, she was not okay with the fact that she had to be in her body.
Yes she got a second chance at life but what the heck!
"Are you there, child?" Her mother asked again.
Before she could answer, a single knock came on the door and it pushed open, revealing a man in his late 40's, dressed in a dark blue tuxedo with a matching tie.
His blonde hair was neatly combed, coming to a stop at his neckline.
Judging from his outfit and looks, Aria could tell that he was none other than Jade's father himself.
The one and only Jay Jordan, rich businessman and pamper-master of the spoilt rich princess.
His gaze came out cold at first but when he laid eyes on Jade's body, they softened and one closer look at him, she could tell that his vision had began to blur with the tears that threatened to spill.
"Oh my daughter!" He lamented and briskly walked into the room to stand at her bedside. "My pearl. Oh I was so scared, baby."
And once again, she stared at him in confusion. Lthough she had come to realize who he was, she wasn't keen on these fatherly love and motherly love seeing as she did not enjoy such in her past.
Ignoring her look of surprise, he hugged her lightly, careful enough not to actually injure her.
"I know you may not remember me now baby, but the doctor said that it is as a result of the accident but you would get your memories back after some time."
'Hmm, memories. Do I really want her memories or do I just want to actually forget?' Aria thought within her.
"Look, your mum and I are so happy to see you awake. It gives us so much joy. You know you were out for three days straight. So imagine the shock and everything when I was informed you were awake."
For a moment there, Aria did not do anything. She just sat down listening to everything he had to say and gosh did he speak till she got tired of listening, still he wasn't showing any signs of being tired.
Finally, her savior appeared in form of Jade's mother.
"Darling, I think she is tired. Let us allow her to rest."
"But, Mira, I have so much to tell her," Jay protested.
"I know darling but she just woke up. It wouldn't be nice to overwhelm her this way. The doctor said so. That we should not try and force her to remember things and darling that is what you are doing, forcing her."
"But…"
She raised her hand, stopping him from speaking further. "No. I won't have it. Just take a look at your daughter's face. She is lost. Please you will have ample time with her later. That is enough now."
"Fine. If you say so. Only because she is tired."
Mira rolled her eyes at him. He was always like that whenever she Jade got hurt but on a normal day, he was always too busy to care about other things.
Jay was the kind of person who believed that as long as there was money, he could give his child all that she needed.
Ring! Ring!
Both Mira and Jade averted their gaze to the direction the ringtone was coming from, Jay.
"Oh my, sorry. I would get this call quickly dear," he smiled at Jade and tehn touched his wie's hand as he headed towards the door to answer his call.
"Hello, yes?"
On the other hand, Aria could not be more than happy that he got distracted. She was so tired already. Even the flashback she had was already mind draining for her and she wanted nothing more than to rest her head while figuring out what in God's name was happening to her.
Just when she was about speaking to Mira they heard Jay half yell into his phone and knew that something was wrong.
Immediately he ended the call after giving a directive and walked up to them.
"Umm, I am sorry darling but urgent matters at the office. I need to return."
Although he sounded apologetic, the sad look on Mira's face spoke some unknown secrets and to Aria this was perhaps a usual occurrence and at that moment she could not help but pity the woman and now, pity herself since she was stuck in their daughter's body.
"It's alright. I would watch her. At least until my meeting late in the afternoon then I would send for Miss Gracie to look after her."
"Okay, whichever works best for you. I would come back once I am done. Bye." He leaned in and pecked his wife on the cheek before moving over to Aria and doing the same thing.
"Be good baby, daddy would be back."
With that, he rushed out of the room and away from the hospital.
Once Mira was sure her husband was gone, she heaved out a deep sigh! And managed a small smile at her daugjter.
"Do not mind your father. He would make it up to you. For now, I would allow you rest and go speak to the doctor. How does that sound?"
"Okay."
"Good girl. Be right back."
Like that both parents had successfully left her without her asking them to. Once she was alone again, Aria took in a deep breath.
She still had not being able to wrap her mind on what must have happened. More importantly, she wanted to find out what exactly happened to her body.
Picking up the phone again, she unlocked it, accessed it and found that it was Jade's phone.
Luckily for her, there was a fingerprint unlock on the phone and she quickly unlocked it then went straight for the camera.
Quickly, she took a picture of herself and looked at it.
Her whole mind had hoped that when she did that, her true self would show but no matter how many times she looked, she still had the same reflection in the mirror.
"No, no, no, no! This can't be happening," she muttered and then slapped her face a little bit hard.
She picked the phone again and checked but she was faced with the same annoying face of Jade.
"Come on! Where is my body? Why am I in hers?" Aria whimpered as her eyes began to sting and tears… flowed out freely. "No, something must be wrong."
