Jia was honestly feeling sorry for Zoey. The poor girl was groaning in pain and clutching her stomach when they both came back from their classes and she put her to bed.
She tucked her into bed and asked her if she wanted to eat chocolates to ease the pain in her stomach. Yep, her roommate was on her period and not in the walking mood. Luckily, she wasn't moody and snappy, she just didn`t want to talk unless it was necessary.
"No, soda and spicy chicken would be great though," Zoey answered before gasping and clutching her stomach.
Jia pursed her lips and nodded. She then got her phone and left the room before dialing Roy`s number.
At that moment, Rose and Clary entered the room with their bag packs.
"Hey, is it true that Lisa is going out with Marcus Opill?" Rose asked as she tossed her bag pack against the wall near her bedroom and move to jump onto the couch nearest to her.
"I thought she was going out with Hector Ullis?" Clary asked them both.
"Really? Then what`s this deal with Marcus?"
"Marcus wanted to put some moves on her but she rejected him, she was actually secretly going out with Hector," Jia pointed out.
Clary sighed happily, "Who knew, right? They do make a lovely couple, she`s so tiny and she`s so big and-"
"Pick up the phone!" Jia yelled at her phone before groaning.
Rose and Clary exchanged amused glances before Rose asked her who she was trying to kill.
"Roy. He isn`t answering my calls. I want him to tell Cole to come and visit his girlfriend who is dying and she`s craving spicy chicken!" Jia answered. Frustrated, she changed her mind and instead dialed Chase who thankfully picked up.
His image showed that he had just come back from classes because he was still in uniform. Rose chose that moment to disappear into her room as Clary took her place on the couch.
"Thank goodness, is Roy with you?" Jia asked.
Chase shook his head," He and Mike are doing their Major Research paper so they`ve gone to Pyrus to interview the witches there."
Jia pouted, "I guess that would explain why he wouldn`t answer his phone."
"What`s up?" Chase said as he put down his weapons and took a seat on what Jia guessed was his bed. In the background, she could hear voices but she couldn`t really hear what they were saying or who was speaking.
"If you could find Cole and send him-"
"I don`t care, "Chase cut in and Jia frowned at him. She was very more confused to see him glaring at someone beside him, off-screen," This Research paper is important and I will not be failing just because you don`t want to do it."
The sorceress cleared her throat, "Umm, Chase, is everything alright?"
Chase turned back to her with a smile," Sorry about that, I was just yelling at my assignment partner."
Jia pursed her lips and nodded but she looked very startled," Okay. Umm, about Zoey, could you grab Cole and ask him to come over to see his girlfriend?"
"Why? Is something wrong?"
"She`s dying," Clary answered as she put on her ear pieces and switched on the music player on her phone.
"What?!" Chase exclaimed.
Jia smacked her forehead, "Just send him over, please."
"Fine, but you`ll need to help me with a favor." Chase said as Jia frowned at him.
"Okay, what is it?"
Chase gave her sheepish grin, "My assignment partner and I were asked to do our Major Research paper on a sorceress from Viola, one with sky abilities and the other with earth abilities. Since I have the earth ability covered, I need you to help my friend with the sky ability."
Jia rubbed her forehead, "Fine, I`ll be over in a bit."
"Thanks, you`re the best!" Chase said before he hung up.
The blue eyed teenager turned to eye her petrifying friend, who was at the moment in her own world of music before she left to change. After she was done, she left a note letting the girls know where she was going before leaving Clary with specific instructions to keep an eye out for Zoey. As she was leaving, Rose joined her, reminding her that her second interview was this afternoon.
"I`m sorry, I forgot," Jia apologized as she and Rose stood outside the School entrance, waiting for Rose`s ship. On Monday night, Rose had received an email informing her that she needed to come for her second interview on Thursday.
"Don`t stress," Rose replied with a chuckle," It`s just an interview, the thing everyone should be worried about is whether I do pass the interviews."
"You will, I have faith in you," Jia assured her.
Rose smiled at her friend before her ship descended in front of both girls. After the girls boarded the ship, the Van Helen Heiress gave instructions to drop Jia off at the Saton Knights Academy.
When Rose dropped her off, Jia walked through the entrance with a spring in her step. If she finished early with Chase and his partner, then she`d have time for a movie night with Fiona. The boys around the school look to be just finishing their classes and were either doing extra training outside or writing in their books.
She didn`t waste any more time and headed straight to the Sophomore's Wing. Once she made it to Squad Five`s door, she entered without knocking.
"I`m here! So who am I helping?" Jia asked before she froze.
Chase was there with Dylan, Tristan and Cole. Dylan and Tristan were still in uniform while Chase and Cole were dressed in their civilian wear.
"Thank goodness you`re here, Tristan could use all the help he can get," Chase said as he stood and went over to hug her. Tristan glared at Chase`s back whilst Cole chuckled.
Jia was returning the hug awkwardly when Dylan turned and began to disrobe.
"Okay, I`ll be outside," Jia said hastily as she pushed Chase away and left the room.
"Hey, wait up," Chase yelled as he ran after her. He had managed to stop her outside of Squad Ten`s room and grabbed her shoulders to prevent her from leaving the school, "I know this is bad."
"Bad? Try awkward and humiliating. I don`t want to be in a room helping Tristan after the stunt he pulled at the Mixer." Jia exploded at the Knight as she turned to face him. Chase flinched slightly and looked around before silently thanking the Goddess that no one was walking down the corridor at this moment.
"What stunt? What did I miss?" Cole asked eagerly as he joined the two teenagers.
Chase shot him an annoyed glance, "This is why we tell you to not make out with your girlfriend at every party you go to, you might miss out on the interesting stuff."
"Oh that was interesting to you?" Jia asked him. She had folded her arms and was frowning at Chase.
Chase groaned, "Jia, He was just being guy."
"Don`t give me that excuse," Jia snapped as her eyes flickered silver. Both boys took an uneasy step backwards before Jia took a deep breath to center herself. Making sure that she wasn`t startled, Chase stepped forward again with his hands clasped in front of him.
"Please Jia, this paper is important to me. I need to get a good grade, if I don`t then all the other tests I did would be for nothing."
"I don`t appreciate this."
Chase ran a hand through his hair, "I know Tristan was a jerk on Saturday, I get that but he is also the jerk that got paired up with me on this assignment and since I can`t do anything about it, I need my good friend Jia to help me."
"Seriously, what happened on Saturday?" Cole asked before he gasped, "Wait, does this have anything to do with Tristan and Dylan throwing punches when we came back to the dorm."
"There were punches thrown?" Jia asked, clearly interested now that violence was mentioned.
"Man, don`t you have to go and see your girlfriend?" Chase turned to glare at the blue eyed Knight.
"Oh yeah, what `s up with her anyway?"
"She`s on her month, she needs spicy chicken and soda, now go," Jia said as she went behind the charcoal grey haired Knight and pushed him forward.
"I`m going, I`m going," Cole mumbled before he continued onwards.
Chase watched Jia huff before she nodded reluctantly at him. He smiled before grabbing her hand and pulling her back to his room where Dylan was just leaving. Tristan had already changed into his civilian wear and was gathering a notebook, textbooks and a pen.
"Going out," Dylan said unnecessarily as he left before Chase entered with Jia right behind him. He then left the two with instructions to work on the assignment while he went to the library to finished his part of the research. Jia took a seat on the floor near Tristan's bed and waited for him to sit down across from her.
"So what is this assignment about?" Jia asked as she picked up one of his pens and began playing with it. Her attention solely on the pen.
"If you don`t want to help me, I can do it on my own." Tristan said as he took note of the way Jia was focused on the pen and how she refused to look at him.
Jia sighed and put down the pen before looking at the raven-haired Knight, "I told Chase I`d help you so I will. Now start talking, explain this assignment to me."
Tristan eyed her skeptically before nodding and opening his notebook to pull out his assignment paper and began to read out the instructions.
"Okay, so this assignment is about analyzing and strategizing. "he explained, "I have to analyze a target and figure out how to defeat them, in some cases, I would be going up against a sorceress with Air abilities and that will be you so I need to know the extent of your magic."
"Like my attacks or how I usually attack?" Jia asked.
"Don`t all sorceresses attack the same way?"
The sorceress arched a brow at him, "To answer that question, let me ask you this; do all Knights fight the same way?"
"No."
Jia snapped her fingers and motioned for him to start writing. The Knight picked up his pen and began to write in his notebook, "Exactly, for example, for Zoey, whose powers are on Gravity manipulation, she can fight off multiple targets by making them, heavy or light but she takes time when she has to switch between what she wants. For Clary, it petrifying magic, she can go one on one but a majority of her power can be used once to petrify a large number of targets."
Tristan nodded and glanced up at her, "And what about you?"
Jia tapped her chin thoughtfully, "I can hit multiple targets with certain spells, so most of the time, I`m a long distance fighter but once in while I can do close quarters combat and that is where my lightning manipulation comes in. I can create certain weapons from my lightning to aid to me."
"Like what?"
"I`m mostly a spear type of fighter but I have mastered daggers and sometimes I fight with a scythe," Jia answered. Tristan nodded and made note of that on his notebook.
"Are you the only one who can do that?"
"Kyra can do the same, her shadow manipulation comes into play because even weapons have shadows but her power has a limit. She can only create shadow weapons from shadows she`s seen with her own eyes unlike me where my weapons can be conjured up from my imagination."
Tristan hummed and scribbled on his notebook before he put it down and opened a textbook that had a bookmark on a page before he read through it. He then glanced up and asked, "Okay, is your magic originally a defense or offence magic? And do you get powerful in certain conditions or places of origins?"
Jia nodded," I do. Okay, to answer your first question, originally, my magic is offensive or so says my grandmother. The magic originally came from her mother, it then skipped my grandmother, got passed to my mother and then finally me."
"And the second question?"
"So, I`m usually powerful at most times but if I were fighting in the middle of rain or a storm then my power is increased by ten times. As for places of origins, I`m not sure about that. I was born in Azazel but my mother was born here so things are a bit jumbled up in that department."
Tristan put away his textbook and began writing again, "Would you be able to use Combine Magic?"
"Yes, but only with magic that is a bit chaotic."
"What do you mean by that?" the Knight asked with a frown.
"Lightning and storm magic is in essence a chaotic element on its own, it would need to work with another chaotic magic. Kyra`s magic for example, would be a perfect combination with my magic. Storms and shadows."
Tristan hesitated before asking, "Doesn`t chaotic lean more towards dark magic?"
