Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: A Test of Skills

The final quarter of school came, and it was outside in a large courtyard and the instructor was an Asura man but without the extra heads and arms, had red hair and ripped shorts. He also had no pupils and a vest on. It was obvious the man was a body builder since he had solid muscles all over his body. "Okay, you must be the students. Call me Mr. Kai, I'm your instructor for this course. And don't let my look fool you, I'm not prone to rage at all unless someone messes with my students. Now let's get this started, we're gonna break you down and bring you back up again, so first group, come up and use whatever powers you have until you can't stand back up." he said, and the students did just that. It took 30 minutes but eventually they were on the ground exhausted and unable to move at all. Mr. Kai picked them up and put them on the dugout to heal up. The next group came up and did the same. Suzaku looked nervous, mainly because he was a bit chunky for his age and he had more power than most. Him getting tired was the least of his problems. Kalgad psyched himself up so he'd be ready to show off his skills along with Ray.

Mr. Kai then called up Suzaku's class group and everyone but Suzaku was tired out a bit quickly, which surprised everyone since they haven't been training for that long, and it was for the exercise. "Seems we have some home schooled kids here. That's good. Just means we'll have to try other methods. Suzaku, Kalgad, Zheng, Orchid, Eve, Isobu, Ray, Kyubi, Isaac, line up. It's time for the obstacle course. Try not to pass out halfway through." he chuckled, and then spawned an obstacle course from the sand. It had all sorts of different, yet energy draining challenges. They all went at them for about an hour and they ended up so exhausted that they were barely able to move an inch. Mr. Kai picked them up and brought them to the dugout and let them heal. "Mother of gods....my whole body hurts like I just got put through a meat grinder on rush hour in a restaurant. I feel like Suzaku's balls after the first week of summer." Kalgad said, but Suzaku didn't have the energy to smack him for it. Eve chanted a healing spell that was slowly working, but her energy level was low and was healing minor fatigue. Just then, they were all caught in a binding spell, and forcefully teleported somewhere, much to Mr. Kai's surprise, and looked around for the caster. He began to get furious as someone was messing with his students, and rushed off to find them, burning his footprints as he ran with inhuman speed. He traced the spell origin to the Mazoku lands, and flew there so fast the flames he emitted from his feet turned blue, and he landed like a meteor, then ran to find his students. He found monsters in robes doing a ritual, which was causing them great pain as it was draining their life force, making Mr, Kai clench and grind his teeth in a rage. He clawed at the monsters in robes, and freed his students who seemed to be going pale, so he drew blood from his palm and called out to the god Agni to restore their life force and keep them safe from their harmful magic. The wish was granted, and Mr. Kai got up and cracked his knuckles. "Alright you creeps, who's ready to burn first? You messed with my students, you pull a cowardly trick, now you use their life force for some ritual? You'll all suffer my inferno!!" he yelled as he charged at one of them who had crab like armor, and aimed for the joints on his body. He used his blood as a needle, sending blazing energy into it, causing the crab monster to burn from the inside, all the while his rage was causing his power to grow exponentially with time.

The more Mr. Kai fought, the more his power grew, until his aura seemed to turn into fire itself, and burn the ground around him. With one swipe of his hand, he caused a wave of searing hot energy to launch out like a wave and burn the other two monsters, then began to power down as the fight was practically over. He picked up his students and flew back to the school while they were still asleep, and put them in a spare room to sleep, deciding not to tell anyone of what had happened, and went back outside to continue teaching. But he definately wanted to know who exactly those creatures were, and regretted burning them to dust.
