Chereads / Demonic Prince Grey / Chapter 10 - Born to fight

Chapter 10 - Born to fight

Grey looked the principal up and down for a second before shaking his head, "Definitely not. Just like an ordinary old man."

The Principle abruptly stopped laughing looking towards him seriously, "You should be careful of such things."

At this point he stood and began to walk away with heavy steps, his head drooping towards the ground, he sighed "No matter how ordinary or harmless something seems, you should atleast know what it is before making a judgement."

A herb you go to pick may contain a deadly poison or a harmless old man like me may posess the cultivation to kill you just by thinking about it."

He turned his head back with an unnoticeable look of pity, "For example the blood oath. If it weren't for the king making such a mistake it would be unnecessary."

Once again vanishing into thing air, Grey was left alone ruminating upon the Principals' words. 'It should be normal to give back to the academy for its help so there shouldn't be a problem with the wording of the oath, so there is a problem with joining the army?.'

'Oh well, no point overthinking about something I have already done I'll just take care of any problems that come as they come' Upon thinking this Grey returned to his home to carry on his cultivation.

..........

The next day, Grey had arrived at the General combat class.

The teacher standing in front was a large muscular man, his size multiple times larger than any one of the students. Hideous scars covered his uncovered chest as he looked down disdainfully in anger.

"Not one of you wimps are willing to fight first! What kind of class have I been given, Huh? How am I supposed to teach a bunch of cowards who won't even dare show off their strength?"

One of the kids stood out arrogantly clearly trying to show off after being provoked by the teacher. "Teacher Bruce, I will go first."

Bruce walked forward towering over him with his immense stature yet the kid looked back arrogantly making an effort not to to show how scared he was.

Bruce waited a second before breaking in to a joyous laugh patting him on the shoulder violently. "Good, good. It seems you aren't all cowards, now who wants to fight against this..?"

He looked towards the kid inquiringly to which the kid immediately responded in joy. "It's Shen Tu, teacher."

Looking towards the others he said "Since nobody seems willing to step out," His eyes scanned everyone, "You. Grey was it? Fight him."

Without speaking Grey jumped upon the stage looking in the direction of Shen Tu waiting for him to move.

"Begin!"

When Bruce's voice rang out in the air Shen Tu immediately swung his fist towards Grey. "Grey? You're the one who wants to fight against young master Yan Ming? What gave you such arrogance even with your talent you stand no chance."

Grey laughed silently to himself thinking 'He was clearly the one challenging me.' But he responded with a punch on his own.

To the side bruce was spectating their exchanges. 'No, no what on earth are you doing? Was this Grey even taught to fight at all? He won't stand any chance if this continues.'

Even someone with no experience at all could see that Grey had no clue what he was doing. His movements were stiff and just barely sufficed to dodge Shen Tu who was evidently taught before.

In the midst of his dodge another punch came howling towards Grey at an unexpected angle.

Under the pressure of Shen Tu's barrage of blows Grey felt a strange surge in his blood. As Shen Tu's Fist was about to connect everyone sighed to themselves.

"Grey clearly never stood a chance, This was unfair to begin with."

Bruce snorted aloud. "Will your enemies care If you're inexperienced. It's his own fault." Upon saying this everyone looked to the stage in astonishment.

Contrary to Grey, who was seemingly unable to dodge this punch, being defeated the one who was hit was Shen Tu.

At the last second after feeling a movement in his blood Grey had instinctively dodged, even returning a blow of his own.

Bruce who was just about to declare the end of the match also stared at the stage with the same astonishment. 'Was he just faking it before? No, its not possible for him to fake such inexperience so accurately.'

Shen Tu stood up looking at Grey, "Lucky hit, it won't happen again." He rushed at Grey trying to end the battle but to his and everyone else suprise Grey was rapidly improving his abilities even to the point that he was actually starting to pressure his enemy.

Grey was currently immersed in a strange feeling of joy. It was as though he was born to fight and improve himself brought a wonderful feeling.

'Is this related to my bloodline?' He thought to himself.

As he was feeling this a kick landed on Shen Tu's Jaw sending him flying out of the stadium and back into the crowd. Blood streamed down his face as he looked towards Grey indignantly 'How did I lose to a kid on the same level who seemed to have never fought before? Is this talent? In a short few minutes of fighting he can improve so drastically that even someone who has practiced for multiple years is not his match. Maybe he can actually beat that Yan Ming if his cultivation improves fast enough.'

Grey stared back with a cold look. "Teacher do I win?"

Bruce snapped out of his astonishment. "Grey is the winner."

"Grey was that really your first time fighting?" He asked.

Maintaining his cold look Grey responded. "Do you think I'd waste time letting him beat me up if it wasn't?' Stepping down from the stage he sat down in the middle of the crowd seemingly thinking to himself.
