"I already said no, Chanyeol." His father spoke coldly as he averts his eyes from his son's pleading ones.
"But dad-"
"A no is a no. Go to your room." He commanded.
"But I got a friend in my current school and he always gets bullied so I need to stand up and protect him! He's a good friend dad, intelligent too! I just really want to..." His voice died down when his dad looked at him sharply.
Chanyeol sighed when he realized that he knew his father. Of course, he would never let him do the things he wants, why would his father agree in the first place.
"Honey, maybe it's a good idea for him to have good friends, he's still young." His mother backed up quietly as she got closer to the young kid staring devastatingly on the floor.
"We already talked about this, our son isn't one for having friends," Mr.park exclaimed, shutting his wife.
Mrs.Park sighed in defeat as he caressed Chanyeol's cheeks. She felt bad for even trying.
"Baby, daddy is right. You can find good friends in the elite school we are planning to enroll you with. Besides, there will be sports there, you can be a basketball varsity player in that prestigious school. It will be fun, darling." Mrs.Park smiled as she tried to lift her son's spirit.
However, it did the opposite as Chanyeol felt the welling tears in his eyes.
Chanyeol's palms crumbled into balls as he felt really sad and upset at the same time.
"Only this time that I felt that someone really cared for me, a real friend that is always there for me, I only asked once! You're never here, do you even know what it feels like, being isolated in this huge mansion in silence? All I want is a friend! And you can't even give that to me!" Chanyeol shouted, pushing his mom's hands away from him before going upstairs and slamming the door with a loud bang.
"You know that he could not have friends," Mr.Park spoke in silence.
"I can't see the problem of why an eight-year-old young boy couldn't have friends. He doesn't have a family who's there for him." Mrs.park spoke before sipping into her glass of wine.
"What you want will never happen," Mr.Park responded.
"I don't know.. It's my son's wants, not mine." Mrs.Park spoke. She reached her phone and dialed a number before putting it near the side of her face.
"Find Chanyeol a good school near the city, and find this Byun kid he always talks about." She spoke.
"Funny because the boy doesn't have any background information. But it said that his mother have three different jobs. Assuming they are poor." Mrs.Park raised.
"Enroll those two in a better school. Send someone to talk to the head of the school and pay this boy the first year tuition but make it look like a scholarship. I don't want people thinking what's with our connection to anyone here in this town." Mr.Park ordered.
"Thanks." She mumbled before putting down the call.
She looked at her disapproving husband. His face showing regrets of what he just said now.
"Even just this once, give him a taste of happiness." She sighed, drinking all down the red wine on her glass as if hoping that what she just did is a good thing.
"I'll tell him that you changed your mind." She announced before going upstairs to surprise her son with something he'll definitely like.

The golden morning rays found it's way over the luxurious curtains as it blinded the sleeping Chanyeol. He rolled over on his bed groggily as he struggled to ignore the headaches that he had gotten from the basketball championship party last night. His head pounded and he grumpily regretted drinking lots of alcohol every time he wakes up with a hangover.
He groaned as he stood up with his long lanky and wobbly legs, taking two painkillers from his bedside drawer and plucking it at the same time.
Sighing in relief when there's no girl on a bed with him right now, realizing that it's not a good time because his parents would be at the mansion.
He doesn't really remember how did he get home. The only thing he remembered was that he was at the party with Jieun, and he definitely got drunk. He tried remembering but the remaining memories are just blurred lines.
He looked up at the grand wall clock above his step-in wardrobe and his eyes widened as he realized that he's late.
Cursing, he quickly entered the shower and after taking the quick bath, he got dressed as fast as he can and he put on his shoes and bag as he exited towards the front door in a rush.
Late to take his best friend to school.
"Chanyeol, eat breakfast first before going to school!" His mom who was busy on his MacBook shouted while the cook set the breakfast in the dining table but the giant was really in a hurry to be able to eat his breakfast.
"A surprise you're home but I'm gonna be late! Bye! Love you!" Chanyeol replied in haste.
He hissed when his car got a dent on the left side nonetheless he started the engine and drove fast to Baekhyun's house.
While he was driving with his left hand, he fetched his phone by his free hand and opened it. He saw dozen of messages from Jongin, Lay, and Jieun. While he was on the verge of ignoring the messages from his teammates and his girlfriend, his eyes fixated on the only message that was sent him from Baekhyun.
He immediately opened it.
Baekkie🙌:
Go home early. Have fun giant! Don't u dare drink too much liquor! See u tomorrow! Be safe, K?
6:14 Pm
He cursed before driving faster.
Baekhyun is not a party lover. He never was. Besides, Chanyeol would never let the smaller go in one though. He never even attend a single party except at Chanyeol's grand birthday parties, of course, and that alone was that Baekhyun would stay at Chanyeol until all the visitors where gone. He doesn't want the crowd and especially the liquors to tolerate any luxurious parties that Chanyeol was getting with. He would rather do part-time jobs or read books all day long rather than to attend at such trends. -or what he calls, waste of time. Waste of money.
He was indeed a nerd-at least, that's what other people tell him. Because if you are an introvert with roundly eyeglasses wore on your head, people consider you as a nerd or worst, get called as a geek. He's a total opposite to an active Chanyeol. He was silent and a well-composed person compared to his extrovert best friend. Baekhyun likes staying indoors while Chanyeol prefers outdoor hangouts and activities. Believe it or not, he doesn't have friends to talk much unlike Chanyeol who's friends with everyone in social media or in person. Chanyeol was the definition of magnet, especially to girls. But a danger to people who try to an eyesore to him. Baekhyun is nobody compared to his famous talented basketball player best friend. The nobody and the famous.
Ten years had passed, and there they are. Stronger friendship than ever.
Even though Baekhyun grew more reliant on Chanyeol, he got matured rationally over the past years-childish in the most unexpected things yet most of all, caring and loving as always. He had a scholarship, the reason he got into this prestigious school where Chanyeol attends. It's a 10% chance to get there, and he was one of the lucky 10%. His mother doesn't get stable paychecks and so he works part-time. Although he hadn't bestowed a tall height, he had this cute petite size, adorable and patient, innocent mind, blinding smile, and bright eyes. He got this preciously pale complexion, and he was often told that he looks way prettier to be a boy that he disagree on. He has uttermost shyness and low self-steam making him even look smaller and vulnerable.
Chanyeol grew tall, truthfully talented, and broodingly handsome. His body was well built. Prominent jawline, deadly smile, perky ears, dark eyes, and jet black hair. He got a toned chest, six perfectly chiseled pack abs due to continues visit on the gym and with his passion in sport. He got this large calloused hands evident that he was with a ball in his entire life. He doesn't only get the fame of being the best basketball player on their campus but also considered as one of the most handsome teens that shows up every season in school papers. He got wealth, business inclined parents, and all. He's practically perfect.
Despite the big difference between their social standards, they made the most beautiful friendship anyone would dream for.
Chanyeol immediately smiled when he saw Baekhyun patiently waiting in front of their house. He yet again cursed from the pounding pain on his head but didn't show any expression because his best friend would probably scold him again.
The smaller was just sitting there in the shed while admiring the sunrise when he felt that someone blocked the alluring Sunday's in front of him.
Once Baekhyun saw Chanyeol's car that came in front of him, he stood up contently and dusted off his baggy pants while fixing his old round glasses. The taller motioned Baekhyun to get in, which the latter happily obliged.
"Hey," Baekhyun jokingly punched Chanyeol's shoulder without reasons-he just feels like doing it. Well, maybe he did have a reason because he could see right now the forced smile plastered on the giant's face.
"Yeah, I'm sorry. I didn't notice the time. I prom-" Chanyeol started apologizing but Baekhyun interjected.
"And you drank lots of alcohol, got drunk, and you got home super late and you're having headaches now, because of your hangover," Baekhyun's eyes lingered on Chanyeol's features. The taller on the other hand shrugged apologetically.
"So I made you this," Baekhyun exclaimed, eyes rolling playfully yet glowing as he showed a disposable cup in front of a driving Chanyeol. The giant just grinned and sighed in relief.
Chanyeol knows that the latter would always understand him. The only person who will completely understand him. And the only person who was always correct about what had and about to happen about his life. He was like an open book to the smaller so did the latter from the very first start of their friendship like the smaller knew Chanyeol like the back of his hand.
"What is it?" Chanyeol asked. Smiling but nonetheless focusing on the road.
"Tea for hangovers. You've gone many parties these past weeks like crazy, so I studied about hangover teas to ease your headache." He smiled. He stuck his tongue unconsciously as he struggled to open the lid. It took time for Baekhyun to open it tho, buying time to make a certain giant chuckle.
It may be so usual but Chanyeol can't deny how adorable Baekhyun's features are, with his big ancient round glasses hanging loosely around his nose, his brown curly hair covering his forehead, his fair complexion, and how he opens the freaking disposable plastic cup with struggle. It is just so cute.
Once he finally opened the lid, Baekhyun ordered him to gulp it all down.
"Drink it now before it gets cold." He motioned the cup and made Chanyeol drink slowly but surely, trying not to pour on his best friend's uniform.
"Steady...steady...nomnomnom. Some more!..done!" Chanyeol gulped it as if it was sweet and made a thumbs up on his right hand while matching up a derpy smile for Baekhyun.
"Feel better?" Baekhyun asked, wiping the remaining beads of the tea on the latter's lips with his thumb. Chanyeol inwardly cringed from the bitter taste but nodded and smiled.
"Mm. So much better." He smiled brightly that would put the sun to shame.
It really made him better. More than he expected. But he feels like it's not because of the tea but because of how Baekhyun cares for him.
