Day 8.
The following day, Xander's fever had lowered and his cold had slightly disappeared luckily due to the favourable temperatures during the day.
Aria sighed in relief. His health was a little bit better.
After a long boring day the night was finally here. One thing that frustrated them so much was the fact that there wasn't anything to do other than sitting, sleeping, exploring and fishing.
They were lucky that they were all together otherwise if it was a single person life would have been hell for him. He'd probably die of loneliness.
Suddenly Aria felt a slight uncomfortable feeling in her stomach. Both her mouth and eyes widened in shock!
'No no... not now it can't be! '
She inwardly wailed cursing the day over and over. It couldn't be her periods right?
She prayed so.
Of all the time why would they come now? She felt like strangling herself to death. What the fuck was she supposed to do? She prayed that she was wrong otherwise she'd really murder herself.
" Excuse me. "
She suddenly shot to her feet startling the two men.
" Is there any problem? "
Xander raised his eyebrows at her in concern.
The sun was about to set and they were seated around a warm fire at their camp area roasting some fish and crabs. His body was still wrapped up in a blanket due to the evening cold.
" I'm no... I'll be back in a minute. "
Aria said almost in a rash.
She was walking back and forth at the stream frowning, running her hands through her untied long hair. Her periods hadn't come. If they had, they'd have really come early.
She knew that they were due for one week or two but she was still anxious. Damn! They needed to get the fuck out of that cursed island.
She was about to return to the camp area when she stepped on some slippery plants, slided and fell on the ground.
" Ahhh... shit! "
She angrily gritted her teeth thinking,
' could the day get any worse! '
Luckily she wasn't hurt as she fell on some bushes.
When she rose on her feet she was about to leave when she suddenly felt a cold object pressing on her neck. Her body went stiff and she froze, chills running down to her spine.
A cold metal.
She didn't require rocket science to figure out what that was.
" Move! "
A dry and raspy voice suddenly rang from her back.
She didn't have a chance to glance at her back before her frail body was roughly shoved to the front.
***
" Well well well. What do we have here? This whole territory belong to me... should I accuse you of trespassing? "
Aria's eyes welled up trying to figure out how their luck had turned from bad to worst.
They were now kneeling on the floor their wrists bound to their backs, huge and scary guns aimed at their heads.
Who had they wronged? Had their lives been cursed?
Her delicate wrists were red and they were badly aching. The rope bounding them was so tight that she felt as if they'd snap.
" Our ship sank. We got stranded here. "
Xander answered while clenching his jaws. His dark easy going and gentle eyes had long disappeared.
" Oh I get it. That was tragic... unfortunately hahaha... ! "
A huge and bulky man who was seated on a wooden chair in front of them sneered before he mockingly let out a loud raspy laughter that sharply pierced through their heads leaving behind a sharp pain.
He seemed to be the boss.
He was honestly ugly and scary. His head was bald and his whole body was covered in tattoos. There was a huge scar out of a burn on the left side of his face.
His English was bad and he had a thick Spanish accent which made Aria realize that they had probably wrecked somewhere near Mexico. They hadn't sailed so far from the States after all.
Had they ran into some gangs or cartels or some drug lords?
Her face turned ashen as her body shivered imagining their unfortunate fate.
