Docks, The Outskirts, New Azazel Empire, Galia
The Solaris' massive ship towered over the dock, rocking with the turbulent waves of the Azazelean Sea and accompanied by the squeaks of seagulls every now and then.
The wind travelled fast and cold, bringing about the crazy whipping of Aegir's long gray tresses, to which he had annoyedly calmed and held down.
The Siren had looked upon the seas, his once home, reconsidering every choice that has been made since his freedom had been brought upon him again.
He touched his chest, an area lacking of the necklace containing his pleroma–something that he had no memories of ever taking off but had miracurously disappeared. It has bothered him even back in the confines of his prison, and till this day he can't seem to remember: where and why had it been removed from him?
The necklace Pleroma used to be his driving force; a proof of his godhood; a proof of his duty to protect the seas and his people. But now both the seas and his people, the very same lot that he had vowed to and protected had casted him off like a piece filthy insignificant seaweed.
And he does not even know the reason why.
Because of losing the main driving force of his life, the clog that pushed the other parts to move, Aegir was now more at a loss than ever.
What was he to do? Where was he supposed to go for now?
No home, no reason, no power–and most importantly, no will. So What was the point—
"Ae!"
Miyu shouted, half running towards his friend, Interrupting Aegir's increasingly darkening thoughts. That of which the kraken knew , for just the Siren's expression relayed the negativities perfectly.
The Kraken that had morphed into the body of a buff man with yellow skin struggled to breathe for a few after he had arrived besides his bestfriend, and two then went on a deadlock staring contest.
They both knew that the two of them were well aware of the problem, but both chose to stay silent at this time. Aegir opted to lean on the ship's railings, breaking eye contact with Miyu.
"The view is great. " Aegir opened the incoming serious conversation with a light sentence.
"Indeed." Miyu also complied and pretended to be seriously looking at the sea, a view he was most used to and found to be common. "But it would be nicer if a certain someone smiles a little more."
A subtle silence was the answer he got, the ghostly sound of air passing through and sea waves the only sound filling in between until Aegir spoke of his worries.
"Say Miyu, If I really get strong like back then, or even more stronger, What's the use of that strength? I have nothing. No home to protect, no people to rule, no more dignity to maintain. I....I have nothing."
He took a pause to catch his breath.
"In the end, I'm just tiring myself, aren't I?"
Miyu took away his gaze from the sea, moving it to deeply look at Aegir's eyes, to which the other had faced head on.
"Don't say that. It's not like that, Ae. "He took a second to compose his words as well as he could. "Maybe today you don't know why, but isn't there still a tomorrow?"
Aegir's face totally blackened, knowing the other well enough to know where this was going.
"You know, Imagine if I give you meat and you confuse your siren self and be vegetarian today, you can still keep the meat so when you finally know yourself well enough to turn to the carnivorous being you truly are, you can eat the meat that I gave you on the day you do so. "
Sure enough. Aegir heaved an exasperated sigh. "What are you even talking about..."
"shh." The big foodie was still dreaming about meaty feasts and delicious suppers. "What I meant is, the meat is like your power. If you obtain it, then you obtain it. You can decide on another day when you want to use it. It won't hurt you"
"I still don't get you, Ugh. Deities above save me from this...wait— I meant devils below."
Miyu stroked his nonexistent beard. "Well, I never really did say you were vegan though. Did you never even think about avenging yourself? knowing who wronged you? Are you really just content on being a lowly being, a flower sullied by mud and stepped on? Would you not like to grow into a fine fruit like the eggplants—cough, I meant do you not want to grow past your " weak and forsaken" label?"
Miyu then patted Aegir's shoulder, "Oi now. I babbled so long if you don't wake up, I'm gonna make you a dried salted fish.", He then folded his hands in his back and walked away, pretending to be the wise old man in the legends, leaving the distraught Siren to his own devices.
The wind once again blew it's harsh breath upon the surface and landed directly on Aegir's face, like a wake up call, or a slapping call.
That's right. He cannot afford to be weak at this moment of all the others. He don't want to be a stepping stone in this world, He didn't want to be betrayed again.
The world was harsh and hears no one's pleads, and instead, only feels the strength of those strong enough to handle and defy its deluding grasp. Only the powerful had the say, only the powerful can move the chest pieces, be weak and you'll only ever be a pawn at another's mercy.
He had to get stronger even without his pleroma, and even without a Deity's might, he wanted to move mountains, to seek answers of impossibilities and most importantly, to avenge himself to those who have wronged him.
Miyu was right–though half his words were mere nonsense about food– Aegir truly was no vegetarian.
He swore, he will take back what's his, become stronger and to live a comfortable life after.
..but for now, he should get Miyu his favorite oysters as a reward...
Unbeknowest to Aegir, Miyu watched his continuously changing expression with a smile. But not too soon enough, the smile was wiped off his face, leaving horror in it's wake.
"Tuna Fish! I forgot to talk about the kiss!"
