After the whole training with Severing Sun and his grandson, everyone went back to work, accept for Tasha who was sitting at home while Kamai was helping take care of her, and had moved fully to the West. Gabriel and Satina were flying around the city, looking around for more people in black cloaks, but couldn't find one. "Damn, I thought we would find one by now. What do you think Gabriel, how come we can't find these weird cultists?" Satina asked, but Gabriel was still looking around, and seemed to find something. "There, it's feint but there's something growing in power. Dunno if it's an item or not, but lets go." he said as he started to fly at high speed towards the energy signature, with Satina close behind him. They then found people in black cloaks with some sort of heart-shaped object, and the people started running away with it. Gabriel and Satina flew after them, trying to stop them from getting any further with binding spells, but they kept dodging it like they knew where it was going to be established. Satina used a spell called "Hellish Sticky Mat" and tried capturing all the cultists in it, but they somehow managed to get away by digging underground. "Dammit! They're trying to scatter. Follow the one with the heart!" Gabriel yelled as he started to spin and drilled his way underground with Satina going on the other side, making it so there was no other option but to go upwards to escape.
However the cultist did something unexpected: he went further down, going faster as he did so. Gabriel and Satina followed as they started to feel an ominous presence. They both finally came to a stop in a strange cavern, where they just saw claw markings all over the place. Satina then saw two eyes look at them from what seemed like a stone throne, and Gabriel remembered those eyes from the memory he experienced. "So you're the one we've been looking for, you bastard. What are you looking for?" Gabriel asked. The person stepped down slowly, revealing his form to both of them. His skin was a very dark grey, and his hair was long and messy. He had scars all over his body, and all he had was a large cloth around his waist. He had a skinny body and long nails that formed claws, and his eyes were shining red. "You foolish mortals have no clue..I shall destroy this false utopia you've created for yourselves. For now, eat a bit of this." he said in a very course voice, like he hadn't had a drink before. He then manifested a large ball of chaotic energy that began to expand outwards and engulfing the room. Satina and Gabriel combined their summoning to create a being called a Chaos Devourer, which ate the massive amount of energy and supplied them both with it. However it was a distraction from a spell they never seen before that was shot from a high caliber rifle, forcing them both to dodge as best they could. Gabriel used his feathers to latch onto the man and drain information from him by connecting to his brain, but the drawback is he would have to stay completely still, and Satina decided to shield them both using a pitch black force field that absorbed the bullets that he kept shooting. After a few seconds, Gabriel got all he needed to know, and held Satina as he turned them both into light to escape. The man did nothing but sit back down and smile.
Gabriel and Satina warped themselves to the station and gathered everyone around to read the information he got. The man they encountered was named Olive Wilbert, a trained gunman and a bit of a redneck stereotype (by which that means entirely), and wasn't too fond of the new E.D.E.N machine. So when it was finished, he decided to destroy it as it was operating, but didn't expect it to become complete and turn into a Divine Tree Portal. After that, he hid himself, and decided to destroy everything by becoming a god. That was about the gist of what he did and is doing. They all looked surprised that they never seen or heard of this person before, but apparently he was an assistant to the E.D.E.N Project before the war happened, so the question on everyone's mind was why would he want to sabotage the machine after working hard to create it? Either way they now had a face and a name, but without knowing his powers, it was too risky to go after him directly. Quason had did a separate investigation into Apotheosis, the way to become a divine being. He figured that it would come in handy, so he went to see Buddha about setting conditions. As he talked to him, he asked what he was setting the conditions for. "Sorry Buddha, but this is something I can't exactly explain. I just have a weird felling that something bad is going to happen. And if it does you need to send our souls to the right places. We're not going god mode for free here." he said. Buddha nodded in agreement and the conditions were set. Buddha used a spell that engraved the command into the soul, and it was undetectable to anyone but him. Once the conditions were fulfilled, the spell would activate automatically. Quason thanked Buddha with an offer of treats burned for him to eat, and went on home.
Later that night, Gabriel and Satina were getting ready for dinner when Satina asked a strange question. "Hun...if we were to have a baby right now, do you think they'll be a pure angel, or half?" she asked, which almost made Gabriel cut his finger. "E-eh, babe that's a very strange question to ask right off the bat. I'm not even sure if I'm able to raise a kid right about now." he said nervously, but Satina gave him puppy dog eyes, wanting him to answer. "Well..if I were to choose...I guess half angel would be the best choice. I just hope she isn't afraid of it like I was at first." he replied, which made Satina smile and hug him. "Yay! I knew you'd pick that one. And surprise..I'm pregnant with a baby girl! I hope you're ready to be a real father." she jokingly said which made Gabriel's face go a bit pale and to look like he fainted while standing. Satina giggled as she helped with making the dinner. Suddenly the TV started to make static noise, and an image creeped onto the screen. It was Olive, and his hair looked cleaner and straight, and had a devious yet strangely alluring smile on his face. "Hello world. I am Olive. And your troubles are at an end. You sit around, using this fancy technology and magic to hide your own primal stupidity, no better than any ape or basic monkey. Religion leads to conflict, your differences lead to your own stupidity leaking out and infecting others like a virus. Y'all should be ashamed with how fancy you made yourselves. But worry not, I'll fix it for you. I will be your new god, and I'll fix everything you broke, starting with this illusion you made for yourselves. New Year's eve is your deadline. Get your affairs in order, take pictures, because you'll live the way you were supposed to. And prayers are fine. But I won't listen to all of you." he said as the broadcast went out. There was only a dark silence as everyone around the world processed his words. They had a month until his plan went into motion, and no way of knowing who he is or what he's capable of. Satina closed her fist tightly in anger. "This won't happen...I'm not bringing my baby in a world ruled by that ugly son of a bitch!! I don't care what we have to do, we kill him before the New Year, morals be damned, I'll see him tortured in Tartarus myself." she proclaimed, which made Gabriel smile in agreement. They had all they needed, now they just needed to level up fast, before everything went downhill.
