" You boys done? "
Shu questioned as he stepped into the crater, seeing his two kids on the ground, and then look over at the bear which was sliced in two
" Yeah.. "
Dio whispered, only for Shu to turn back look down at them
" Okay good, get up, we're going to cook that bear "
Shu said, ordering the boys to stand on their feet, but of course the two were to weak to get up, and they knew their father knew, so they simply looked at each other, blinking a few times before looking up at their father
" Uh, father, im not sure if you're aware, but we can't move "
Dio replied, to Shu's surprise, opening his eyes a little; as if to look taken back by what the boys had said, but they knew he was just mocking them
" Father, we've used all of our energy, we can't lift a finger "
Raven added, to which Dio nodded, making Shu cross his arms, blinking a few more times before looking over at the bear and then back down at his children
" Sure you guys can. If you can breath, you can talk, if you can talk, you can stand, and if you can stand, you can walk "
Shu replied, leaving his children surprised; all they could do is open their mouths in complete disbelief, this of course made Shu raise an eyebrow
" I don't know how you boys have been training before meeting me, but now I am training you both in the Himura style, so get up "
Shu said, with a straight base, a deep voice and emotionless eyes
" But father "
" I also didn't kill that bear, it wasn't my hunt .. "
Shu whispered as he would then look over at the bear which the boys had hunted, only to look back at them after a few seconds
" So it isn't for me to cook, it has to be you two "
Shu added, leaving the boys in even more disbelief, how could they continue? How could they get up after wasting all of that energy.
After half a minute Shu began to realize that his kids wouldn't be able to stand up just with words, so he decided to point over at the bear
" If you two don't get up, I'll cook that thing and eat it all mysel— "
Before Shu could even finish his sentence the two kids were now standing; their arms and hands were shaking and their legs were trembling, but nevertheless they were standing
" Now pick up your swor— "
They began to fall the moment Shu started that sentence
" Or else I'll eat the entire bear and leave nothing behi- "
Yet again, he couldn't finish his sentence, his kids were now standing straight, still shaking but now they were holding their swords by the hilt and letting the blade rest on their shoulders
" Okay, now chop up that bear "
And with that, the bear was chopped up, cooked and eaten; the boys rested, showered at the lake and slept, by the next day they were practically completely healed and energized, which Shu took complete advantage of.
The morning after the day of the hunt, the boys were waken up just like they were the day before; and just like before they were sent on a hunt, they killed the same type of bear, chopped it, cooked it and ate it, to then, shower by the lake, rest and sleep.
The next day, they woke up early and repeated that same routine; the day ended and they found themselves doing the same thing over again, and over, and over again, till a week went by and the boys became used to killing these bears.
" Now Raven!! "
Dio yelled, as he would then slice off a fire bear's right paw, making it scream leaving it with openings which Raven took full advantage of and sliced off the Bear's head off with his blade covered in concentrated sanctuary energy.
The boy landed on the floor next to his brother Dio, only for blood to rain off of the Bear's now opened neck; some of which landed on the two of them
" So how should we cook it? "
Dio questioned, looking over at the dead bear whilst wiping away a bit of blood from his right cheek
" I think we should— "
Before Raven could finish his sentence, Shu had stepped forward, with his hands inside of his pockets, looking around with a calm expression.
He took a quick glance over at his children who were now holding their blades with almost no trouble; it took them only a week to carry the weight of those swords, which even to Shu who was currently void of emotions, it made him proud.
" Now that a week has gone by, I will implement a training section for your routine, which will be as follows "
Shu, paused and stared at the two who simply tilted their heads, not a bit concerned about what sort of training it would be, which made Shu smile a little.
Although of course they were a bit nervous, they knew they had no other choice
" For the following week, you two will go to sleep at 9 pm, and you two will then wake up at 5am and complete the following requirements— "
Shu took a deep breath, and then continued to speak
" You two will complete three thousand push-ups, with your swords tied to your backs, soon after you will run around the forest a total of one hundred times, again, with their swords with you, then, once you are done, I expect you two to hunt again, once done with hunting, i want you both to do five thousand sword things, followed by one hour mediation in the water fall next to the lake, once that's done.. "
The boys opened their eyes wide and then looked over at each other in complete disbelief 'there's more!?! ' we're their thoughts as their father continued to talk
" Before 9 o clock is reached , i expect you both to repeat that routine; all but the hunting. You two will do said training for the following week, i will take no questions and I won't change the training, now rest up for the remainder of the day, you will need the rest for tomorrow and onwards "
Shu explained before leaving his two children, who simply had their mouths completely wide open, and their eyes wide in surprise whilst watching their father walk away
" This is the Himura way "
Shu whispered as he walked off.
