Two days went by, and at the moment it was 8pm of the second day, the boys had finished their training and were now resting on the floor of the dojo, completely tired and wasted, their muscles ached and their feet and hands even had blood coming out of them.
" Raven "
Dio whispered as Raven would then look over at his brother, huffing a little still tired from all the training he had done that day
" Yes? "
The red haired boy replied as he then saw his younger brother sit up
" Do you really think this is the place where our father was raised? I mean we haven't seen a single soul in this mountain besides these strong animals "
Dio said, as he would than scratch the back of his head trying to figure out why his father would lie to him about his childhood
" Do you think we should ask him? "
Raven questioned, only for the boys to quickly shut their mouths as they saw their father walk in, staring down at the two with what seemed to be wood on his hand
" Ask me what? "
Shu said, as he walked forward, making the boys nervous; lately Shu has been extremely strict, and cold so the mere sight of him out the boys on edge
" Um, it's nothing, we were just wondering what sort of training we would have by next week "
Raven said in a nervous tone, trying to save himself and his brother from a potential scolding
" Hmm, if it's about the training, I can let you two know before hand but— "
" We want to know why you lied about taking us to the place of your youth "
Dio said, bluntly interrupting his father, not only that but daring to look at him straight in the eyes, which made Raven concerned for his brother's well being
" Lied? "
Shu replied, staring at his sons calmly; at the moment the Dojo was completely silently no one was planning to say another word for fear that they might cause a misunderstanding.
The three stood there silently only for Shu to sigh as he would then place the wood he had brought to a side, sitting down in front of the two boys seconds later
" I haven't lied "
Shu added, while staring deep into Dio's eyes with his cold and emotionless ones, making the boy a bit nervous as he would then try to get closer to his brother as if trying to protect himself from the scolding that he was expecting to get
" You haven't lied? Then why are we in this deserted mountain with nothing but trees and— "
Raven quickly shut his mouth as his father simply turned to look at him with a tilted head
" Ah, I understand "
Shu then sighed and stood up, being looked up by his sons who then looked at each other somewhat confused
" Although my sons, I haven't lied to any of you, I was raised here in this mountain by my grandfather till I turned 14, I spent another year here before leaving though, so I guess, for 15 years of my life this mountain was all I knew "
Shu explained, as he would then turn away from the kids, grabbing the wood he placed on the floor
" Ooh, so that explains why he's so cold and emotionless all the time "
Raven said, which simply made Dio shake his head from left and right, disagreeing with his brother the moment the words came out of his mouth
" Nah man, my mom told me Father was always energetic and happy, and that he started acting like this when he became king or around the time he did "
Dio replied, which simply placed Raven in a moment of thought
" Oh yeah, I also remember my mother telling me something like that, but it's really weird to imagine father in a happy light "
Raven whispered only to get a quick and fast nod of agreement from his brother
" Yeah I'm trying to form the image in my mind but I just don't see father being a happy and optimistic person "
Dio said to himself as he watched his father throw all the wood he had gathered in what seemed to be a giant box at the left end of the dojo
" Anyway— "
Raven tapped Dio's shoulder
" We should hurry and shower at the lake, and get some sleep, we're going to wake up early tomorrow so it's best we get as much rest as possible "
Raven explained as he would then stand up, stretching a little before walking toward the exit of the dojo
" Yeah, you're right "
Dio whispered, standing up from the floor and following behind his older brother, carefully and slowly, after all the two were still incredibly tired
" Anyway, do you think when we grow up we'll have multiple wives like father does? "
Raven questioned as he looked over at his brother who simply stared at him with a weird look
" Nah man, I don't want wives, I want a huge castle like father's and just live in it with all my friends "
Dio replied, spreading his arms apart as if to give his brother an idea of how massive he wants his castle to be
" But then how will you have children with no wife? You have to at least have one "
Raven replied, which made Dio think for a bit
" Well i guess you're right, then I'll have five wives and—— "
The children continued to talk, walking toward the lake as they did so, only to be watched by Shu who sat at by the exit door of the dojo
" Hmm, I wonder how you'd train them grandpa, would you have placed an even harder training regiment than mine, or would you have them do— "
Shu paused, only to then sigh, looking over at the full moon in the sky
" I guess there's no point in think about that, you would've trained them in everything possible, wouldn't you? "
Shu said to himself as he would then stretch his arms out, falling backwards, laying against the Dojo's floor, only to then imagine his grandfather picking up his children and placing them over his shoulders like he would do to him when he was but a toddler.
