Deep within the dilapidated building, where the wallpaper had rolled itself to the ground or had disintegrated into dust. A strange creature's jagged fingers began to twitch under the sensation of energy rolling over its skin.
In a room that looked like a skip for old furniture, there in one of the rooms on the floor, a hole had been dug out just underneath a broken table. The table itself was only standing on two of the four legs, giving it the shape of a right-angled triangle.
A slender and heavenly, malnourished arm extended out from the hole, with the hand digging into the soft wood with It's overly long sharpened nails. With its body being pulled up, it looked in the direction of where the energy was coming from.
The body of the creature scuttled along the ground like a spider. Missing everything with ease as crawled in and out of the rubble as it got closer to the energy that seemed to be calling for it.
All of this was happening because Ronin made one mistake, see he had planned to hide away and accumulate his strength away from the watchful eyes of the new gods, as they wanted nothing more than to cash in on old scores.
My energy was getting out of control, and I, unfortunately, knew why. When we die, our souls enter a kind of hibernation that can only be unlocked when we reach a certain level of power and that is when we start to getting divinity.
My mistake was because I have such a low level I was unable to even sense a person with divinity and went along in my showed off my control of Ki and fucked myself big time.
Crawling along the ground and occasionally along the walls for fun but when it rounded the corner into where the feeling was the strongest, it hissed when it saw a human sitting.
Being surprised by this, it kept looking around trying to see if it was coming from somewhere else, but the feeling would only come from the only thing in the room that it could see.
I am going to pay a heavy price as now that my soul has sensed that I have divinity it is going to unlock itself and I can already feel it happening as my veins started moving around to a more optimal possession to allow my Ki to flow faster, and my tendons were moved along the bones to put the muscles in their optimal line for exerting power.
The creature, however, was watching everything as it could see things move under the skin, it had misunderstood, thinking that a type of parasite had taken over the body and that was why it felt such a familiar feeling between the body and itself.
Thinking that I was able to handle the absorption very well, after all, I blocked almost everything out to solely focus on the sliver of divinity because if a mistake was to occur the best outcome would be death for me on the other hand my worst case, would me become a cripple.
Making sure the sliver had been surrounded by a thick wall of densely packed Ki, that clutched down on the divinity. I started to rotate the Ki in a way to be able to start and absorbed the energy from it.
Gradually I started feeling its energy in a more diluted manner, enter into my Ki network, unfortunately right now I need to mold the divinity with my Ki pool because if It is left unchecked it will try and find a way to coalesce and my body isn't strong enough to withstand its power.
The divinity flowed through my veins as I felt it steadily enter my Ki reservoir. I began to make sure its power wasn't put to waste as I let It begin to strengthen the walls that withhold my Ki from being detected by others.
The creature was sitting with its legs open and its arm in between like a dog, its long scruffy hair was being hit by a small breeze. Its eyes widened when it started to feel that this human's energy began to fade away. But it pounced back out of fright as the human's eyes open suddenly.
Hearing some wood creak off to my left I glanced seeing big beady eyes poking out from behind a door frame, smiling as I saw that the head was at an unnatural, horizontal angle.
Its mannerisms looked quite cute, as it tried to hide itself from me behind the door, but it was doing a very poor job of it as its hair was falling to the ground highlighting the bright eyes, which brought a smile to me.
Searching the inside of the building, as I looked at the dilapidated interior, but I couldn't understand why someone with such bright eyes would be here in such a place like this they should have by now at least lost hope in everything, but those eyes had hope.
Looking intently at those eyes, I wondered what kept it here and why it didn't run or why it didn't hide itself away in some hole when I woke up. After about 5 minutes, It did start to get a little weird when it wouldn't stop looking my way.
Whatever it was, kept looking my way, I thought that I might as while call it over to get a better look at what it is "Come, on over little one" I tried to go for a calm and soft voice I hope it worked.
Given that I was still on the ground and was trying to let my body get used to the fact, it now had some divinity diluted within my Ki. Seeing as I had nothing to lose and all the time in the world, I might as well try to see where this goes.
Seeing motion from the corner of my eyes by the door frame and not trying to do any fast action that might scare it away, slowly started moving my eyes to see 4 small, slim fingers clutching the wooden frame.
I couldn't help but notice they looked like human fingers, but I couldn't really tell with all the dirt on them, however, it was hard to miss the fact there were also very malnourished as I could plainly see the knuckles poking out of each of the fingers.
Seeing the head get out of its strange angle and upright, the hair looked quite long as it flowed over the shoulders as its body was no longer hiding behind a wall.
Being able to get a proper look filled me with great sadness as I could see a little child that had a bony, frail-looking body that just hurt to look at, as I thought who could leave a child in such a place.
Not really being able to tell whether it was a boy or a girl made me a bit angry at the person who left them here. The way the child's skin resembled that of a dried grape hurt me some more, and if there was any fat on this child, it practically looked non-existent.
Thinking back, It did seem that whatever I said, or the way I said it, got through. I wanted to try another attempt to see if it could talk to me, "Little one, what's your name?"
Observing the child and waiting for a reply, which seemed to happen sooner than I expected, but what the child said consisted of a high pitch mumble that made me crouch my head as I flinched into my shoulders out of pain.
The child seeing that the man found discomfort in their voice shrunk into its already small frame and pulled its body back behind the door frame. Peaking out again, it wanted to see if he had run away because the man didn't like its voice.
Seeing that he was still there and was trying to stand made it happy at first, however, it became sad thinking that maybe he was also trying to leave.
Feeling really bad that I upset a kid and watching the child disappear behind the door frame didn't help me feel any better about it. Feeling sorry for the child, I wanted to, consol the poor thing, but unfortunately, I still had my arse firmly planted on the floor.
Placing my hand on the wall behind me to try and leverage myself up with more ease, as I wasn't able to feel my legs. Somehow, with great effort, I was standing on my very wobbly legs, which made me have to reach out to grab the wall to balance.
Glancing back at the door, I smiled, because I caught a glimpse of the child vanishing behind the door when I looked it at.
Stumbling across the wall, hoping the kid was still trying to hide behind the door.
Something familiar was pulling me to confront the child, and I had only ever felt that feeling when I was in front of my demon arms.
