Chapter 1 - Chapter One: The Academy and New Students

The sun has started to rise over the horizon on an undisclosed location in the United States of America. The leaves of the forest have started to turn yellow, the first signs of autumn. The morning dew drops off of the blades of grass.

This is the location of a massive campus. The campus looks more like a small town. There are hundreds of different buildings. Some are made of brick. Some look like they contain incredibly advanced machinery. Some are made of glass and contain plants and animals for research. And some reach tens of stories into the air.

All of these buildings are connected by a maze-like network of stone roads. There are also some beautiful fields, picnic areas, and fountains and greenery that enhance the beauty of the landscape.

Along side those, there's a massive football field on the east end of the campus with a track around it. On the north end of the campus, there are several courts used for tennis and bad-mitten. On the south end, there's both an outside, and an indoor, full-sized basketball court. Finally to the west, there's a large soccer field right beside a baseball field.

Besides those for extracurricular activities, there's also an indoor skating rink, ice-skating rink, archery range, a massive swimming pool, weightlifting and training areas, and many more. And if the students on campus don't feel like intensive exercise, there is also a theater, video game area, libraries, and study areas.

This is Moonlight Academy, the most advanced and successful school in the world. This school has one hundred percent college entry and employment rates, and is supported and funded by governments world-wide. This school was created to cultivate the best of the best. Preparing them for their futures in important fields.

The process just to get into this school is grueling. One needs to have the best grades and the best grade point averages. They also needed to write a fifty page essay on a particular point in history, and take a written algebra, English, and science exam. And today is orientation day for the new school year.

Cars and buses filled with promising and hopeful new students make their way along the only road to and from the campus. The entire campus is surrounded by a thick forest. There is not a town within ten miles in any direction. Even so, people from around the world venture to this school, knowing that succeeding here will mean succeeding in any job that comes after.

Most of the vehicles they are going towards the campus were large buses that are dark blue in color. The buses also have a shield- shaped, silver crest with an insignia that appears to show a crescent moon on them.

Within one of the buses nearing the school, there are a few interesting individuals.

One was a girl who appears to be around 15 or 16 years old. She sits near the back of the bus, with long, luscious silver hair, blue eyes, and pale skin that only serves to enhance her beauty. She wears the same thing as every other female student. A white shirt, a dark blue jacket and shoes with the same silver moon crest on the chest, long whit socks, and fancy black shoes. In her hands, she plays around with a deck of cards. Shifting them around and moving individual cards between her fingers quickly.

As the bus moves, her eyes trail around to some of the others on the bus. The first is another young woman with midnight black hair, green eyes, and light skin. She wears an icy cold expression on her face. It was as if she was ready to kill someone. Seeing this put a smile on the silver-haired girl's face as her eyes trail off further.

Her eyes land next on a young man sitting in the front. He has blond hair that goes down to his ears, and light skin with his right eye being blue and his left eye being green. He has a cheerful expression on his face with an air of anticipation around him. Seeing him, the girl's sly smile turns into an expression of curiosity.

Her eyes move again, landing this time on another, much taller young man. This one has short, spiky orange hair, tanned skin, a brown eyes. Unlike the last boy, this one has an indifferent expression with a tint of annoyance. The silver-haired girl's expression stays the same.

Finally her eyes land on another young woman. She has light brown hair, hazel colored eyes, slightly tanned skin, and quite a voluptuous body for her age. She, like the first boy the silver-haired girl noticed, has a cheerful look on her face with a friendly atmosphere around her.

She smiles, and her eyes return to the deck of cards in her hands. A huge feeling of anticipation wells up inside of her.

"I knew it," the silver-haired girl whispers to herself, "This is going to be so much fun."

Hey guys, like with my other novel, I really looking for your opinions with this one. The inspiration for the setting a some of the characters comes from the series "Classroom of the Elite". However, I'm not entirely sure where I should take this novel. Please give me feedback. Thanks for reading. And feel free to check out my other novel Crimson Advent.
