Chapter 2 - Chapter Two: First Contact and the Assembly

The bus comes to a stop in front of the school, and the students quickly get off to examine their new home for the next four years.

Here in Moonlight Academy, students have to stay on campus for four years. There's no commuting from one place to the campus itself. This was another way in which this school gets its students ready for college. Providing them practice in life away from their home.

The sun is low in the sky, and an autumn breeze blows through the air, making it just the right temperature for outside events. A small gust came just as the silver-haired girl exits her bus, following the other four that she examined earlier.

She's the last one to exit the bus, and when she does, she takes a moment to examine her new and beautiful surroundings. She has never been anywhere like this place, and she looks forward to the challenge.

At that point, she notices the glare of another individual directly in from of her. It was the black-haired girl whom she was examining while riding in the bus.

"Why were you staring at me?" she asks in a cold tone with a sharp glare to match.

"Pardon? I'm not sure what you mean?" the silver-haired girl answers with a sly smile.

"Don't lie to me. I could feel you looking at me."

"Perhaps it was just your imagination," she answers while think to herself, (This girl is sharper than I thought).

"Stop talking bull crap and tell me why you were looking at me!" the black-haired girl says in an angry tone.

The other girl's smile only widens, "Maybe I was just curious about you. Just to give you a heads-up for future reference, when try to pass yourself off as inconspicuous, that normally only serves to increase your presence to others."

"Tch! You should mind your own business."

"And what will you do if I don't mind my own business?"

The black-haired girl is taken aback by the silver-haired girl's response, and flinches back. After a quick glare, she turns, and walks away.

After she's far enough away, the silver-haired girl breaks out into a giggle with an insane look in her eyes, "Hehehehehehe. Oh… I just can't wait. I can't believe I found a great new toy on my first day. I can't wait to play with her."

The girl proceeds to follow all the other students to the auditorium where the assembly is being held. Once there, she lines up in a group, along with the rest of her class and takes a look around.

She finds that the same four students she was looking at on the bus are in the same class as her. And though she made sure no one saw, this put a wicked smile on her face.

At that point, a young man approaches the center stage that lies in front of the large mass of students. he is dressed in the same blue uniform as all the other students, but the aura surrounding him is much more authoritative. He approaches the microphone, and taps it twice before speaking in a stern, yet gentle tone.

"Greetings to all of you, and welcome to Moonlight Academy. I am the current student council president, Aron Mitchel. At this school, we pride ourselves in the pursuit of success as well as encouraging individualism. Here, you shall be seen and treated as adults.

This may seem harsh, but it is to ensure that you all are prepared from the next phase in your lives. You will come into this school as children, but you shall exit as functioning members of society, ready for anything life may throw at you.

The teachers, the faculty, the staff, even your fellow students will be here to support you. However, the outcome of your time here will be up to you. Whether you succeed or fail, it will all be up to how seriously you take this.

This is one of my favorite quotes, 'you were given your life because you are strong enough to live it.' Stay strong. Believe in yourselves. And work together to ensure a brighter future for all. I look forward to seeing you all progress through your four years at this school. Good luck everyone."

With that, the Aron steps to the side of the stage, and the crowd erupts with claps and cheers.

The silver haired girl smiles warmly, but her eyes hold a gleam of suspicion, "He sure has a silver tongue. I wonder what he's truly like."

She then takes a look around at the ones she was observing on the bus. Both the voluptuous young girl as well as the heterochromic young man both have happy, cheerful smiles on their face.

The black-haired girl and the spiky-haired young man however, both have indifferent looks on their faces. But the young man's lips hold a small hint of a smile.

The black-haired young woman notices the gaze of the silver-haired beauty but decides to ignore it. However, while doing so, she fails to notice the other licking her lips.

Once again, her expression morphs into an evil one, "I wonder just how far all of us can go. I can't wait to see what they're capable of."
