It was unknown how far LeeAnne and the wolf travelled. The movement lulled the baby LeeAnne into sleep. When she woke again she was in a cave. A man and a woman sat to the side playing with some wolf cubs. There was no sign of the adult wolf who carried her away from her dead mother.
LeeAnne watched the others quietly before a rumbling sound left her stomach. LeeAnne covered her mouth with her baby sized hands in embarrassment.
The couple and the wolf cubs turned to look her. The cubs were curious and came to sniff at her. The man and woman watched her embarrassed reaction curiously. They had never seen a human baby capable of showing embarrassment. Especially not a new born. Finally the woman spoke.
"Are you hungry, little one? I can't provide you with human milk but if you are happy to share with the cubs I can offer you my milk."
'Not human milk?' "Ah!" LeeAnne was confused but used her hands to usher towards her mouth and rub her stomach as she made the baby like sound again.
She only understood when the woman lifted her up and placed her next to the cubs before suddenly transforming into a wolf herself. Lying down the mother wolf positioned herself close to LeeAnne and the cubs so they could feed. LeeAnne struggled to reach a teat with her mouth before the man lifted her up and positioned her closer.
Although, LeeAnne was embarrassed she suckled the mother wolf's teat gently and received milk in return. When her stomach was full, LeeAnne released the teat from her mouth before looking up at the wolf mother with a blush. The wolf mother smiled back at her in amusement.
"I've never seen a human baby act with such awareness before."
The man commented. LeeAnne had only just realized that they weren't speaking in the English language that she had known in her past life but what appeared to be a form of Chinese. What was weirder was that she understood it.
"Yes, I think she must be very special."
The wolf mother responded after transforming back into a her human form. Looking back down at LeeAnne she spoke further.
"I am Leng Fei. My husband is Leng Hui. Our cubs are only a month old have not received names yet. Your human mother has died at the bottom of the cliff and we do not know where the rest of your human family are. Are you willing to stay with us and let us raise you?"
LeeAnne was quiet for a moment before nodding her head slightly. "Au." After the betrayal of her family in her past life, she wasn't interested in going back to the humans. Leng Fei smiled before picking her up.
"It is traditional in the wolf tribe to not name our cubs until they are a year old. We will name you in a year's time. In the meantime we will called you Ying'er since you are still a baby."
LeeAnne nodded in agreement.
