The Infinite Corridor.
(Jezebel's POV)
Before I go into the specific detail about the test itself, there was a question I wanted to ask.
"Tell me Yamato. Have you gone to school before?"
"No, I don't believe I did. I think I was mainly homeschooled throughout my whole life."
Perfect.
"Then that means this will definitely be a new and exciting experience for you. I just hope this doesn't create some unfortunate culture shock for you."
"Hm? What do you mean?"
"As a student, I want you to attend Cerulean Academy alongside Dazai. There, you will spend some years with him in a particular class."
Once she heard the word, "school", Yamato almost chuckled.
She couldn't believe what she was hearing.
Spending time in some school didn't sound all too difficult to her thanks to the education she received from me and her mother. If anything though, she probably saw it as something more tedious.
Course, although she questioned why she needed to be a highschool student, she took pride in her academic abilites. Perhaps, a little too much...
She herself knew that, making her inclined to glance at me with a very cocky grin.
Though she didn't say it, her expression said, "this is going to be an easy walk in the park".
Unfortunately for her, what she should've done right now was put aside her pride and and figure out why I placed special emphasis on "particular class", atleast before its long too late.
Regardless, her haughty manner only works further in my favor.
"Surely you don't mean for me to get some sort of education there?"
"You would be surprised by the sheer difference between the world and highschool, my friend. They are two different ball games, and you're about to play on foreign soil for the very first time. Aren't you be scared?"
"Oh, please! I have explored the several corners of the world, visited uncharted territories, piloted our ship across the seven seas and the seven skies. What more could a god like me possibly learn in some prestigious building!?" She boldly asked.
"Don't get ahead of yourself now. Remember, you're not there just to succeed in passing your exams or graduating, you know." I said, reminding her of her true purpose of this particular test.
"You are simply there to experience a completely new setting and understand the world through the lens of the common folk. The former element simply adds to the immersion and helps you better understand and even respect the lives of our descendants."
In order to make this test become a true challenge, I have concluded that it would be best for Yamato to experience a setting where the concept of romance was most commonplace.
If she was exposed to such an environment, the possibility of "I have no need for love" way of philosophy changing altogether would drastically increase.
Especially in a place where Dazai himself was present.
And since he was also aiming to attend Cerulean Academy, everything simply falls into place.
In any case, though she never admitted it, this posed more of interesting challenge than she expected.
"Alright then. When's the time limit?"
"Till your day of graduation. It should be about three years or so if you start from ground zero, or something. You'll have to talk to Troy about it."
"Wait, Troy?" She asked.
"Yeah, he'll be the one paying for your tuition, you know."
"Since when? Isn't he and Carla too busy trying to cover for Alice and Dazai? Actually, how the hell did you even get in contact with him, let alone convince him?"
"Eh, I have my ways."
That was all I dared to say.
If I told her how exactly I did so would be rather tedious for me, and I much rather not say anything unnecessary in the first place.
All that she needs to know for now is that I already made the necessary arrangements.
Now all that's left for me is to make a certain call and finally put the plan into motion.
