This was more of a flashback. When I was found the government wanted to test me. I was able to change their thoughts and opinions so fast; even as a young child. They still thought they needed to for sure test me.
I was in a room with a two-way mirror. A man over the speaker told me that the lights would be going out and in the room would sit a killer. The lights clicked on and a bigger man with tattoos and scars sat in front of me. Even as a kid I was so disgusted by his crime. I knew they wanted me to soften him but I think I allowed him to get in my head.
Instead of sweet; I gave him fear. He looked at me and laughed. Funny thing was I wasn't looking at him.
I finally looked up from the table right as he was saying "They must think you aren't worth living because only one of us is going to get..."
Before he could finish what he was saying I looked at him. His eyes locked mine and he became dazed but fearful. I said it, soft and sweet so he wouldn't scream. "You shouldn't be here; should you?" I questioned.
He shook his head more out of fear than answering.
"You are wasting time by being here, aren't you?" I questioned again.
Next thing I know he stood up and apologized right before snapping his neck. Nolan rushed in and grabbed me out of there. The government was fearful of me but they did see use in me. Only if Nolan and his family stayed with me and trained me.
I woke up in the cold water. I slipped under the water and pulled myself out. Jax used to be fearful of touching me or was fearful of me using my power. Although with him I would never do that. Lately I think he was letting his guard down. When he touched me; I felt an icy burn. One I enjoyed.
I jumped out of the tub when I heard a knock.
"Indie, are you okay?" Jax asked.
I started emptying the tub. "Yes I fell asleep, I'm getting out now." I said.
I could feel the smile on his face. I guess it is one of those little pulls of my ability. I got out and toweled off and put on new sweats and a tank top and headed downstairs.
There he was sitting on the sofa with his nose in the tablet.
"Seriously you are still looking at maps!" I questioned.
This caused him to roll his eyes. "Yes and I found something!" He said as a matter of factly.
Puzzled, I walked over to him sitting close to him. I use this time to curl up to him. "So what did you find?" I asked.
He shifted towards me instead away from me. I looked at the tablet and right there on the map I saw a grainy picture of what I think might be...
"A cabin?" I questioned
He looked at me as I studied the tablet. I traced it back seeing if I could map it from the trail. It looked about 10 miles from where I was.
"I think I know what to do," I said.
