Chapter 19 - Chapter Eighteen

Jackson's POV

I heard someone walk in and I noticed the time. It couldn't have been Indiana. I grabbed my gun and slowly walk towards the door. I noticed her on the floor. She looked washed out and sweaty. I grabbed her and carried her up the stairs. I put her in my bed, I ran into my bathroom and wet a towel. I dabbed her forehead. She looked so frail. I haven't seen her like this. After last night I shouldn't have let her go to school. She's my home and I couldn't see my life without her in it.

"Indie! Wake up!" I demanded.

She reached out for my hand. Then I realized what she wanted. She said the touch always felt icy and it burnt. I touched her arms and down the side of her face. No movement. She started to get her color back; I looked at her as I kissed her forehead.

I took the time to call the nurse at her school. "Yes, this is Jackson Parker. I wanted to know about what happened with my sister. Indiana Parker!" I questioned.

"Sir she came in here saying she was sick and wanted to go home." she stated.

"Why wasn't I called!" I questioned!

"She didn't want to bother you and since she's 18. We didn't have to call if she didn't want us to." she said rudely.

"So who should I sue first because I just found her on the floor in front of the door. Do you realized if I wasn't home what could have happened or if she would have fainted on the road?" I firmly state.

"I am sorry sir! Bu-" She started to say.

"Save your sorry! Next time I better get a call!" CLICK-Seriously wish I could use my agent status but I would never risk Indiana.

Indiana's POV

I started to open my eyes and I noticed I wasn't in my bed. Nor was I in my clothes. I sat up and noticed I was in one of Jackson's t-shirts. I turned around and noticed I wasn't even alone. He looked so peaceful and relaxed. I still felt horrible but less horrible with his touch. I touched his face and just like that his eyes woke up. He smiled at me.

"Uh Jax don't take this the wrong way but how did I get here?" I questioned.

This caused him to frown. "Indie you came home sick! You fainted in front of the door. Now what the hell happened?" he questioned.

I tried to remember everything then I realized. "Ugh!" I flopped back down on the bed holding my head. "I think I overdid it." I said.

He looked as if he was angry or concerned at this I had no choice but to tell him about my day. About Trey grabbing me, me using my ability to calm him and to have him leave me alone. I told him about Dom and how I couldn't handle him being so sad. I told him I used my ability to keep him happy. Then I saved the worst thing that I didn't want to tell him. So I bit my lip as I looked at him.

"Is that all that happened?" he questioned.

"Uh well no-" So I told him about how Alex grabbed my ass and I went crazy, snapping two fingers. I then told him how I lost control and caused him to fear what he fears the most.

He realized I overdid it. He grabbed me and pulled me close. "Please never do that again, Indie!" he said softly.

I closed my eyes and realized I remember him trailing my skin with his fingertips.

"Jax its not like I knew this would happen. I wouldn't have over done it."I said as I sat up and glanced around.

"Jax what time is it?" I said as I looked out the window.

He looked at his phone "Almost 4." he said.

I jumped when I heard a knock. "Its Trey. Please tell him I'm asleep. That I came home sick with the flu." I almost begged.

Jax looked way too eager to do this. I laid back down on the pillow and pulled the blankets up. All I wanted to do was sleep. Although food does sound good. I wonder if he will go get me food.

Jackson's POV

She was right. It was that tool Trey at the door.

"Hey, is Indiana home?" he asked.

As much as I wanted to punch this kid and end the problems myself I knew it wasn't just him making the mess in this town.

"I am sorry but she came home with the flu. She's currently resting." I said very annoyed by this point.

This caused him to frown. After that I really did want to punch him. He's part of the reason she's sick. Really why is he sad because he doesn't have someone to put his dirty hands all over!?

"I will let her know you came by Trey." I said.

"Alright thanks!" he said.

"Have a goodnight Trey." I said before I shut the door.

I am sure Indiana is hungry. I didn't even see her eat breakfast. I am certain she didn't eat at school. I walked over to the take out menus. I ordered her Chinese food. I also ordered two pieces of cake. I walked to the kitchen and grabbed her a glass of ginger ale. I walked back into the room to see my blankets covering her up. All I could think of getting under the blankets with her. I walked over to the other side of the bed and placed her drink on the table. Pulling back the covers to see her face. I looked at her. She was still so frail and I did worry about her.

"Indie I ordered dinner!" I said softly.

"Jackson I'm thir-" before I could let her finish I gave her the glass.

She smiled and that made my heart race. I never knew if it was because of her abilities or because of her. Deep down I knew it was her. She was sweet and caring and everything I loved. I knew she worried I would leave her and go off to do bigger things than be with her. But I never wanted to leave her. She was my home. I would have been lost without her. She would never understand. She thinks I saved her but we saved one another.

She put the glass down and curled up against me. "Jackson Will you read to me?" she asked.

I looked at the time, dinner wouldn't be here for another 40 minutes. I reached over and grabbed my book.

"Take this kiss upon the brow!" I started to read.

I always enjoyed reading to her even if I let her think different. She usually lets me read whatever but I always read Poe to her. Maybe its playing off the humor of his cousin who he felt was like a sister to him also was his child bride. Although Indiana is not a child and we only play brother and sister to those around us. I have loved her since she was lost in the rain and my father brought her home. First as a friend and now as something more. I read until she drifted asleep.

I noticed the time, so I kissed her forehead and walked downstairs. Just as I reached the last step the doorbell rings. I opened the door and it was the food. With food in hand I went to the kitchen. I loaded plates and silverware and the food on a tray. I grabbed a couple of water bottles before walking upstairs. Just as I thought, the smell of food wakes her up.

Indiana's POV

I smelt something amazing in the air. I opened my eyes to see Jax standing with a tray of food.

"Jackson! It smells amazing!" I said excitedly.

He smiled. "I thought we could eat in bed. Maybe watch a movie. You okay with that?" he asked.

I couldn't contain my joy that buzzing came back and it felt like a match was lit.
