The sun poured into my room. I glanced down to notice he wasn't there anymore. I wasn't shocked, Jackson had that way about him. He was always up before me. I glanced at my phone. I have 10 new text messages. I scrolled through.
One was Grace asking if I wanted to hang.
I kind of could use some retail therapy.
I replied, "Sure, I'll call you later!"
I scrolled to the next.
Dom left me a few messages: "Hey Indiana!"
"Sorry we didn't spend time together yesterday."
"You aren't answering. I hope you got home okay."
"My mom wants to know if you would like to join us for dinner"
Wow! Maybe I should reply before he shows up.
"Indiana!" Jackson yells. I jumped out of bed and run downstairs.
"Jackson! Why the hell are you yelling!" Then I looked at the front door and noticed we weren't alone!
Standing before me was Dom. Jax eyed me. I nodded.
"Dom why are you here!" before he could answer Jax left the room.
For some reason, this bothered me.
I shook it off and noticed Dom's blue eyes were no longer looking at my face but more of my body. "DOM!" I snapped!
"Uh I was worried about you," he ran his hand through his hair.
That's the one cute thing about Dom; his boyish charm. I smiled and ran my fingers up my arm.
"I am fine Dom. I walked home just fine."
He frowned at that, "you just didn't reply and I thought. Well I didn't know what to think!"
I sighed "I felt sick I just got your messages and I was about to reply when my brother yelled!"
Yes, being sick sounded better than when I came home, worked on a plan to end the killings. Oh and that I had a nightmare about my dead parents. Then I ended up on the floor where Jackson, who isn't really my brother, comforted me.
Yeah, I was sick.
"Dom, you need to leave. I will send you a message later." I said as I tried to shove him out the door.
I think he was going to cry. I looked at him, I let him sink into my eyes.
I softly said "I will see you later."
As I watched his eyes turn glassy and his face soften as the dazed look crossed his face. I smiled, causing him to smile.
"Okay Indiana. I guess I will talk to you later." I opened the door. Waving him goodbye.
As soon as I shut the door Jax was behind me. "Can you not do that!" I scolded him again!
Jax's laugh filled the air, sending a strange feeling through my body.
"Jax, it's not the time to laugh! Like I knew he would just show up!" I said.
All he could do was laugh and shake his head as he walked out of the room. I headed back to my room.
I noticed my phone was going off. "Hello?" I answered.
With a deep voice, "Hey Indiana."
I was lost as to who this could be. "Um sorry, who could this be?" I questioned.
"I'm surprised you weren't waiting to hear from me." He said.
At that moment I knew it was Trey.
So I put on my honey voice and soothed him into a lie.
"Hmmmm Alex? How did you get my number!" I teased.
I think he was offended that I would even think he could be Alex.
"Uh no! Its Trey." he said, slightly annoyed.
What's that, a deflation in his ego?
Time to play sweet. "Oh my. Hello Trey!" I said, very sweet.
I heard his breath release.
"Hello. I figured since you didn't answer any of my messages I would call." He said, almost salty.
I held back a huge laugh and slightly relieved that he didn't pull a "Dom."
Instead I pulled a girlish giggle "Oh I am sorry about that! When I got home last night I felt sick." I said.
I heard him take a breath in.
"Trey? Are you okay?" I questioned.
In a quick reply "Yes, I'm fine!" he said.
With a smile I had to let him know I'm going with Grace to the mall today.
"So, Trey, what are your plans today?" I asked.
He did that boyish stutter that he gets with me.
That I enjoy about my situation with him. I take a man who turns into a weak mess. Something admiring about this.
"TREY!" I snapped.
Quickly he said, "Sorry, I was wondering if you had plans today?"
"I'm actually heading to the mall and later on a hike through the woods." I exhaled!
"Alone?" he asked.
With that girlish giggle I answered "Yeah unless my imaginary friend tags along."
That sent him laughing. The truth was I wasn't going to be alone. Jax would be trailing me but he would never be seen. He would be in the shadows just watching to make sure I am okay. Although I am going to be okay.
He sounds worried when he finally says "Just be safe! The woods aren't always empty." As if he cares!
I rolled my eyes "Well hun" I knew as soon as the words drifted from my mouth he would be hooked. "I need to get going! I still have to call Grace! I'll talk to you later Trey!" I said.
Just like that I could have shattered his heart in a million pieces but all he said was "Okay Indiana. I will talk to you later. Have fun!"
As soon as I ended the phone call with Trey, I called Grace. "Hi Grace! It's Indiana!"
She seemed happy and replied back "Oh hi Indiana!"
"Grace, are you still wanting to go to the mall?" I questioned.
She sounded like she was on the verge of exploding with happiness.
"Oh my gosh! Yes!" She exclaimed.
This made me smile. "Well I'm going to shower then I will be heading over to your house. See you soon!" I hung up before she could even reply. I didn't need her questioning how I knew where she lived!
