Raina sat on the bed and slowly wrapped the cloth to her wound, maintaining Rufus at the center of her attention.
Then Rufus approaches Minella and gives her a thorough inspection.
He cast magic on Minella to make her faint and just after that He felt a chilling gaze from behind, which made his body become stiff.
As he returns his gaze to Raina, he explains, "Your sister was growling a lot, which scared me, so I performed a sleeping spell on her."
"She has a really terrifying sister." He grumbled inaudibly while grinning awkwardly as he return back to his work, "Never in my life have I felt this threatened. It appears that wizards like me experience days like this as well."
He removed the net, which was gripping around Minella as he moved his hand and concentrated his energy information to cast it on Minella.
However, he was startled when he touched Minella. His eyes widened as he sensed a peculiar magical barrier close to her core. Because only a person with extensive magical expertise can perform the uncommon, ancient magic that was used to cast the spell on Minella.
He asked Raina, "You and your sister, are you two not related by blood?" as he rapidly turned to face her.
His question seems genuine as it leaves his mouth in curiosity.
When Raina heard the question, her face changed color, and she reacted by asking, "What does it have to do with your work?" with a tremulous voice.
In Raina's mind, it is taboo to inquire about her sisterhood with Minella, and she dislikes having this topic touched. She typically becomes irritated with the person who asks such a question; right now, that person was Rufus, who asked the question mindlessly.
Rufus smirks with an awkward grin as he gets a cold shoulder from Raina, 'I expected this much. I knew she wasn't going to tell me, but I needed to know more about her in order to cure her.'
Raina notices the hint in his eyes, which stayed fixed on her for a few moments in an attempt to encourage her to speak.
She gave Minella a compassionate glance as she grudgingly agreed, "Yes, we don't."
She sighed slowly as she began, "She and I are both orphans who were adopted by our mother, who passed away six years ago," as she squared her shoulders and turned to face Minella once more.
"Since then, we stayed together." Her hand, which she wrapped in the cloth that was still dripping blood because the cloth was drenched in her blood and she was terrible at first aid.
However, the good news is that after wrapping the handkerchief, the blood drips more slowly than before.
She attempted to comfort herself while she explained it, folding her hands around each other.
"And now she is in this state." There was a slight sorrow in her eyes as she chuckled, looking away from her.
While pondering through his thoughts, "Now that makes sense," he whispered.
He confirmed one thing after speaking with her: both sisters are not related by blood, but the bond of love they share with each other is far stronger than that of a normal sibling.
He raises another question, "Do you know anything about her real parents?"
Raina immediately retorted, "No", in a trembling voice.
"Does your mother know anything about her?"
She ponders her thoughts as she pauses for a moment. She was shaken by the thought that she actually didn't know anything about Minella's past before she came to live with her. Neither did she ask anything about Minella from her mother. Her eyes were narrowing with the odd emotion.
"I don't know about that," she said, her voice leaving her mouth, "We didn't talk about it at all," which was slightly shaken from the start.
The reason why she didn't ask anything about Minella her mother was because when Minella came to their house, her state was really bad. She might have had some terrible experiences in her past. She was totally mute and used to stare out the window all the time. which is why her mother was very worried about her.
The whole family wanted to create an environment in which Minella could laugh back again, which is why they created a rule to not ask anything about Minella's past from Minella. Neither let anything about Minella's past whisper in her ear.
That rule might seem absurd, but it actually worked. and after spending a few months with them, Minella started to open her heart to them. And soon she started treating them as her own family, which was the greatest achievement for their family. That is the reason Minella's past never gets spoken of in her house, nor does anyone know about Minella's past.
With the death of their mother, the reason for Minella's muteness was buried with her, and Minella's past remained a mystery to everyone.
Rufus whispers "interesting" and grins devilishly before pulling out some unusual stones from his cape.
The stone in his palm glistened like a star in the moonlight, giving the impression that it was a piece of the moon. Due to its neutral color and ability to reflect light, the stone was quite stunning.
He put that stone near Minella's heart and started enchanting some magical words. That stone, for a while, floated in the air, but as soon as the spell he was enchanting was completed, that stone got absorbed by Minella's body in the flash of light.
Then Rufus removes a peculiar bottle from his cape that has already been filled with liquid. He placed the bottle close to Minella and used spells on it.
The bottle began to glow as soon as the casting was complete. Then, after removing the bottle's cap, he uses magic to open Minella's lips so that he can place a few drops of the liquid there.
Her body began to glow with the golden flash of light that surrounded her as the liquid entered her body.
The illumination was followed shortly after by the reversal of her body. Her long hair that had previously covered the majority of her body falls out, leaving her body in its former state. Additionally, the lengthy canine that was sticking out of her mouth shrunk.
Seeing Minella revert back to normal, Raina felt somewhat relieved.
Soon after that, everything in front of her eyes went black. "Do not let anything happen to Minella", she pleaded as she collapsed on the bed.
