3 hours later.
Verum was astonished at the amount of preparation that the book said to be required to survive the beast tide. The book said that the minimum amount of monsters was 250, and the maximum was 5000, however monsters will not number above 3500 unless the target is either over-prepared, or has too much of an advantage. It also suggested to build a wall that was at least 2 meters thick, and made of stone.
'Oh hell no, no way I'm telling my troops to patrol at all times, there's no need for that at all. Not right now, atleast.'
'I really need to get my levels up, should I go hunting? That's the best choice right now anyway, time to go hunting.'
So he headed to the courtyard, and on the way thought of the places that need to be upgraded. 'The barracks are important, can't have my men falling ill anytime soon. Then the warehouse, there won't be much room left in the future. And after that the walls... No, the walls come first, they're too weak.'
The walls of the courtyard were only 30 centimeters thick, not fit for a castle built for war. 'What about the castle? there should be an upgrade for it as well right?' "System show me the requirements for the castle upgrade."
[Castle upgrade from noob to basic: 500 wood, 200 stone]
[Upgrade unlocks: Core room, Smithy, Archer gallery, Mine]
'Core room? No wonder I could not find the core, It hasn't been made yet!' "AND WHO ARE YOU CALLING A NOOB!!!" He screamed "Okay." He said, sighing, "Deep breaths, I can't do anything to it, so need to care about it." 'That aside, I can easily upgrade the castle, just need a little bit more wood. Time to put those axes to good use.'

5 minutes later
About 50 meters away from a small castle, Some people could be seen cutting trees with ease due to the 'Bless' ability of the mages, turns out, the 10% increase is very nice. So there was not much difficulty in cutting trees with increased attack.
However, the others carrying the logs back to the castle were having difficulty, seeing this a thought occurred to Verum, 'I haven't tried out my 'Crafter' ability yet, maybe I can make something to make it easier to carry logs. Maybe something like a palanquin?' And so he moved towards the logs that were yet to be taken back, and tried to remember how to use 'Crafter'. "Okay, 'Crafter' required materials nearby, and think about product wanted, simple enough. Let's try it." He looked at the logs and imagined a big board with 4 handles 2 on each side.
As he thought about it, a dull white glow covered some of the logs and changed form, the glow then receded to reveal the same image he had in mind. 'Success!' He silently rejoiced. then another thought occurred, 'With this, won't I be able to make walls and traps in mid-combat? This ability is broken!'
He proceeded to make another one of these 'carriers' to make transfer easier, And noticed something, 'Isn't this basically magic, does this require mana as well?'
[MP: 210/210]
'It doesn't? So It's basically an infinitely spam-able ability?' With these happy thoughts in mind he cut down another tree, which instead of dropping 1 or 2 logs like usual, dropped 10 or 5 log. The only reason his men had gathered only 173 pieces of wood was that they were constantly wary of animals, causing them to slow down way too much. (A/N Don't question it.)
'I think I should mess around with this ability a bit, try to learn all it has to offer.'
And so, after telling his men to use the 'carriers', he picked up a log, thinking about what he should make. 'Planks.., ladder.., stakes.., wait, with these I can fortify the walls, right? Man, this beast tide is going to be easy. But.., what should I do about these?'
He looked around at the many items scattered around him, some were few, like the ladder and circle, and some were many, like the 20 or so bowls that were standing in a stack, and the many, many, balls. He discovered that he could specify how many items he wanted, and thinking 'all' made as many as possible using the present resources.
'Sigh, all this wood wasted.' he thought looking at the useless balls. 'Unless.. is it possible? Doesn't hurt to try anyway.' He looked at the various useless items, and a glow enveloped them, which receded to show three wooden cylinders. 'Hmm, it doesn't restore the bark, but good enough.' He thought with a smile on his face.
'With this ability, I don't need to worry about wasted resources! I can just bring them back to their original state, even if a little bit is lost, it doesn't matter.'
However, his carefree mood did not last long, for he soon heard rustling, and turned around just in time to see 2 wolves charging at him. "What the- 'Wall'!"
A glowing, brown-colored circle appeared on the ground, which shot up a stone wall right in the path of the wolves, causing them to crash into it.

'Now's my chance!'
He went around the wall and cast 'Flamethrower', Which completely enveloped the poor wolves, snapping them out of their stunned state, but to no avail, for they were already on fire, and could not escape.

"AWOOO!!" The wolves, who were burning alive, screamed, All while their tormentor watched.

'Ten damage per second? Not too shabby.' He thought, as he watched the wolves run around, trying to douse the merciless flames.
