I was still in the bouts of laughter when Niko was done explaining the situation to Mel and Ivan. Matching guilt could be seen on them, and I could tell that they wanted to apologize so badly.
Ivan scratched his head, releasing a ragged exhale. "This is embarrassing."
Mel ran to me and threw his arms to hug me. "We're so sorry, Lily! You look like a whole different person so we thought you were someone else."
I gave his back a pat. "Now, now. It's fine, really. I just thought it was funny, seeing your scary faces this time when I am more curious than intimidated."
"I'm relieved it was you," he said with a sniffle.
I stopped laughing, a thought entering my mind. I tried to turn his words over and over to find their meaning.
Niko pulled Mel off me by the collar. "All right, enough theatrics. We should get going. We wouldn't want to waste more time."
Ivan glanced from me to Niko. "Is this really okay? Having her dress up as a boy."
