Noreen had a mask on but it was anything but cute; her mask had such an eerie vibe that you would not want to look at her twice.
It was a Japanese oni mask with red and black designs, a horn not too long or short was at the top and the red on it, if one perspective would look like blood. The teeth were large and long that it looked like a kitchen knife and a tradition third eye to make it even more demon like.
"eww, why would you were something like this? "lucian asked with disgust. Lucians mask was more of a little meek sheep. It had a puffed out cheek and milky design, the teeth were neatly arranged and a wide smile was displayed on the mask.
"Well, it is not my fault so to put it. The more scary and eerie your mask is, the better you ward of people" she said through the mask.
"Then why did you give me this? " lucian pointed to his own meekish jolly go happy mask.
"hey, would you look at that" Noreen pointed at a stand selling lots of orb the size of a ping pong ball
Lucian knew she was trying to change the topic but for some reason, he always let her have her way "I do have enough to spend, so do you want it? " he asked. Lucian did not know what the orb was and it's use, the only orb he had ever seen was the one filled with either and it belonged to his master, Declan, he was the only fury in Orton until he left for the milky way galaxy.
"are you sure? It is quite expensive you know"she asked to be certain since lucian tend to buy anything she is interested in, it made her wonder how much he really have.
" I have enough to buy so much and still have more to spend" he bragged "we have spent two hours since coming here. I would like us to hasten our speed" lucian added after checking his bracelet gadget.
" we can go then . After buying that orb we will go to get the griffin" she said hopping to where the merchant was.
" Hello young lady! Are you interested in anyone of these? " the merchant asked when he saw two little children coming to such a place, he wondered if they are dwarves, stupid, or just very bold.
"hmph.." Noreen sneeres in annoyance and for some reason, lucian swore that he heard an adult's voice "how dare you speak to me that way? " Noreen hand a hand on her waist and the other she used to hit the man stand but luckily for the man and Noreen, nothing happened to the table.
" I am sorry my lady for not recognizing your presence " the man came to a conclusion that they were of the dwarven race
"hmph...you better be" Noreen pretended to be very annoyed but deep down, she thanked who ever god or goddess that made her little act successful.
"what is this orb? " she asked pointing at a green orb that was shining extensively.
" you are wise my lady"the man had a huge grin on his face "this is the core of a kimodo dragon; it was captured on an island filled with amazing nature beasts. Anyone who could successfully fuse with this will be able to control trees, flowers and any plants they want to use for combat" The man explained.
Noreen natural knew what the kimodo dragon was but lucian didn't.
"what are those creatures, the Komodo dragon" he asked openly since he wasn't shy to ask what he doesn't know.
Noreen wanted to curse at him but she held it in and rushed to explain before the merchant did "Kimodo dragons are large lizards with long tails, strong and agile necks, and sturdy limbs. They may be called dragons but that is due to their fierce nature;they are usually 4.5 feet tall and could run as fast as an adult horse, tongues are yellow and forked. Cores can only be extracted from an adult.
" my lady, you are so filled with wisdom" the merchant praised Noreen who was proud of her own knowledge.
"I don't want to control plants. Gove me something with much more powerful attack and flexibility " Noreen demanded.
"yes, yes " the merchant answered and brought out a another orb with electricity running in it. "you know what this is my lady? " the merchant grinned from ear to ear when he brought out the orb.
Noreen eyes sparkled in joy when she saw the orb even lucian could not take his eyes of the orb when it was shown " a lightning dragon! A true lightning dragon core! " "Noreen was so excited that she did not know when she stopped acting matured and started acting childish.
" yes my lady. Merging with this orb will not only give you the lightning orb but it will also give you flight and heal your wounds immediately in battle as long as it is not too fatal. It can also give you the ability of speed that you would be as fast as sound if not faster than sound" The merchant explained, in his mind, he was already counting the points that would be in his possession soon.
" hmm" noreen nodded "I will take this one. How much does it cost? " Noreen asked not wanting to spend much time here.
"five hundred thousand points" the merchant grinned thinking he cheated them. Everyone knew the lightning dragon was all brawny and no brainy.
Noreen turned her head to look at Lucian an signalling him to pay for her.
Lucian had a 'what the... ' look on his face but thanks to the mask, not even a person noticed; he might be rich but he hated spending too much, and he has been spending since he met Noreen.
"Here " Lucian swiped his bracelet on the man's own and the points was automatically deducted.
"Thanks customers, I wish to see you again soon" The merchant bid them farewell as they left his shop. " I made it huge today" he said out loud laughing to his heart content.
"why do you buy that? Looking at that merchant and his smile, you could tell he was a scammer" lucian berated her as they left the merchants stand.
" it was not a scam, this is a true lightning dragon core. He acted like that thinking the lightning dragon was just brawn and no strength and who eve use it will be the same" Noreen explained.
" if you fuse with the core won't it give you the same characteristic as the original? " lycian asked.
"that is were you are wrong. Dragons are like serpent, they deceive you to get what they want" Noreen replied and only then did lucian understand and marvel at her wise means even with her being the same age with him.

'it can only mean they were lucky to find a spot where the dragon died' Noreen thought inwardly as she led lucian to the griffin market.
"here we are " Noreen said happily as they walked inside a giant building.
"what may I help you with, sir , ma'am" a man in a butler suit bowed slightly while asking them. Never in his widest dream would he think that the two were young children.
"take us to the vip. We are ordering a rare wild horse" Noreen said.
Lucian wanted to scream out to her that it wasn't a horse they came here to buy until he noticed the butlers wide smile before saying "very well, follow me " .
The greeting was a code since they wouldn't want officials of the government catching on their business. The building was designed to be an hotel from the outside so that no suspicions could be directed towards them.
The man led the duo through a long tunnel till they came out of an underground room, it was so large that you couldn't see the end of it if you were an ordinary being without powers.
" your rooms are over there " the man pointed at the top where rooms with glasses where and gesturedbthem to go towards there but as they were going to climb the stairs the butler shouted out to stop them.
"wait... " the butler shouted out at lucian and Noreen and started walking to them with heavy footsteps and fluctuations of hostile energy
" fuck, it seems like we are caught " lucian whispered underneath his breath not loud enough for anyone to hear and Noreen also seemed to share that same opinion
