Chapter 15 - Weekend

Gwen spent the rest of her days back at work with Cecil, but her mind kept drifting. She still doesn't believe that the guy she met in the woods and this morning was the owner of the mansion where she now lives and works.

Even Cecil was able to say, it is possible that Mr. Philip was instructed by Theodoric Sir To bring himself here. Quite reasonable, if indeed Mr. Philip has the trust of Sir Theodoric. And surely if without orders from Sir Theodoric, Mr. Philip would not have made this decision alone.

Not only that, the one he met in the woods was Theodoric, not Mr. Philip.

'Right, it looks that way. It may have been Mr. Philip who brought me, but at the behest of Sir Theodoric,' murmured Gwen in her heart.

While Cecil herself was working on the other side of the room, her mind was just as crooked. It's just that she still has a bit of a problem believing any old man would sell her daughter to a pervert for money.

"But it's the stepmother, isn't it? There are a lot of stories there are a lot of bad stepmoms. Yes, although in reality, not all stepmothers are so bad, some are even very good. Who loves her stepchild as her own, 'Cecil murmured inwardly.

Now she knows the background of that friend. 'Gwen came from a rich family, only her fate was so tragic' she mumbled again.

Tomorrow's the weekend. Cecil takes Gwen to clean the second floor faster.

"I'm going into town tomorrow to pick up some things for myself, would you like to come? " asked Cecil to Gwen with her hands on the table in the room, while she cleaned up some of the paintings stuck to the wall.

"Into town? "Gwen asked her a little hesitantly after rubbing her face on Cecil.

Cecil seemed to nod enthusiastically. Weekends are the eagerly awaited time for almost all the workers in the area. Because they can get out of the mansion and go to the city to buy some of the needs they need. It's gotta be a license for Marry first, and Cecil's already got one.

"I would," Gwen softly changed her expression, "but I'm still a little afraid of flattery."

Cecil was silent for a moment until she was aware of her friend's fear of reason.

"Ah, I'm sorry, Gwen. I didn't mean to be," Cecil apologize.

Quickly Gwen shook her head. "No, you don't have to apologize. I'm just afraid that my existence is either known to my stepmother or his accomplice."

"I almost forgot about it, Gwen. Forgive me, "sorry Cecil again.

"I told you, don't apologize. Because you're not wrong at all, "Gwen responded.

Cecil nodded slowly, but in her heart, she felt guilty for reminding her of the bad that had befallen her.

"You'd better stay there," Cecil said in the end.

Gwen nodded in agreement.

"Maybe you can make a list of things you need, I'll get them for you, Gwen." Cecil tried to console Gwen by offering her help.

"Are you sure you want to help me? "Gwen asked disbelief and delight.

"Of course, I'm your friend!"

Gwen was smiling brightly at Cecil's words, but a moment later she began to frown.

"Why? " Asked Cecil worried.

"I forget, Cel. If I didn't have any money, I'd just be working here. And I didn't earn any money, "Gwen explained sadly.

"It doesn't matter if it's money. You could use my money for a while, and you could replace it later, "Cecil explained.

Gwen shakes her head softly, "I don't want to trouble you. Shouldn't you send your money to your family back home? " Gwen asked, remembering if Cecil worked at this exact job to provide for her family back home. She had only a mother and two younger siblings to live with since her father had died some years ago.

"Don't worry about it, I've set aside the money I have to send to my Mother. So I still have a money grip to use here, Gwen! " Explained Cecil.

"Would you mind lending me some money? "Gwen asked hesitantly. She was uncomfortable borrowing money. Only she also had some needs she wanted to be bought.

"I told you, it doesn't matter. Then I'd be happy to lend it to you, wouldn't we be friends? "Asked Cecil.

Gwen smiled happily and nodded. "Well, after our work is done I will make a list of my necessities and hand them over to you," Gwen said in the end.

"Good! "Said, Cecil.

Sure enough what Cecil says, at the weekend the mansion looks so quiet. Only a few workers could be seen by Gwen in the vicinity of the building she was living in. Even at breakfast.

They've been in town since morning, and they prefer to eat out. Just like Cecil did. This morning, before leaving Cecil seemed very eager to get out of the mansion.

Cecil chooses to eat breakfast at that tavern in town. Cecil has contacts out there. And they already have an appointment.

'No wonder she's been on fire since yesterday,' Gwen mumbled to herself. The list of things he wanted to buy was given to Cecil last night. So all it takes is for Cecil to get back out of town. Cecil told her she'd be back later tonight.

'I'm sure the friend she wants to meet must be a man,' Gwen muttered. Cause when Cecil looks all decked up, it's not what she used to do when she worked. Even Cecil used her best suit.

"Looks like fun, a walk-in town. I wish I could join," Gwen in her snugly sitting in the garden behind her building. Even from where it now seems very quiet. Only a few were seen from a distance.

Gwen was bored inside, and it was almost lunchtime.

Her conversation with Cecil yesterday came back to her senses. She still doesn't trust the man she met who turns out to be the owner of the mansion.

"I feel bad, at least if I see him again, I will also thank him for allowing me to stay here," Gwen softly murmured.

Gwen occasionally watches her surroundings, and occasionally she shuts her eyes to enjoy such fresh air in the forest. Very different from the hustle and bustle of our times. It's very quiet and quiet here, and it has very clean air.

Since living here, Gwen feels healthier, even her skin seems cleaner.

The breeze slowly wafted over her face, Gwen felt that it was almost midday but not a bit hot, as she was near the luxuriant trees.

Even her perfectly unattached hairless child waves in the breeze.

Here Gwen was at peace and so quiet. She had almost forgotten the nightmare she had been having.

Gwen kept her eyes shut, enjoying this calm. Until she was startled by a noise.

"What are you doing here?"

The voice was very deep, firm, and full of dignity. So that all of a sudden it made Gwen shudder.
