"No!" I shouted.
Nina gawked back at me, I knew Matthew would be mad at me if he knew she wasn't back all in one piece. Saying nothing more she decided to not act yet.
"I demanded only human flesh, not the flesh of the dead." The doll scolded.
"Does it have to be Nina?" I asked.
The doll nodded slightly, there was nothing I could do to appease it. I sensed the violence emanating from the toy. Nina decided anyway to attempt to give her body to the figurine, I felt useless as a protector.
Slowly she approached it, nothing was more horrifying than willing to give a part of yourself. The doll was unaffected by our fears, willing Nina to come to her. I wanted to squeeze my eyes shut, but I kept them open in anticipation.
"If you want to pass…I require a pound of flesh!" It shouted.
