"Is that all I am to you?" I ask.
Jumping down she embraces me letting her hand gently pat my head running her fingers through my hair. I let her do as she wished with me to protect my own agenda.
The metal collar has bonded with my skin unless brought out magically hence I am powerless to stop her from using me.
"Of course, you are more to me…" She said,
"Who is there?" someone cries.
"Oh, Alex!" I shout.
He suddenly froze, and I noticed Saniya's hand out. The look of anger on her face confused me, strolling over to him. He goes limp in her arms.
"What are you doing?" I yell.
"Shh…"
The angel I had seen earlier appears, her wings spread high. She was in a state of sleep unable to be awoken, her body curled around his in blissful hibernation.
"I command you to wake!" She commands.
She shields Alex's body with her lengthy warm feathers, one of her eyes pop open. I move backward, scared of what she will do to me if I dared. Colton in a burst of black smoke manifests in front of me.
"This poor boy doesn't even remember who was…" Colton states.
"Colton?" Saniya asks, "How do you know that?"
"You are shocked I see…" Colton comments, "I bring the light…I know your misdeeds."
Gritting her teeth she gawks over to me, I am perplexed at why she is upset with me when Colton is technically on a different page than me.
"What do you mean he doesn't have his memories?" I questioned.
The angel sits up wrapping her body around his, I could feel something I couldn't before…fear beating from her heart. Alex lays there pitifully in her arms.
"But he isn't the only one is he, Saniya?" Colton adds.
"What does it matter to a shadow?" She defends herself.
"Who is my master Saniya?" I ask, "Don't I deserve that at least?"
I inch toward the winged being protecting her master like Colton has tried to protect me… he was being harsh on purpose.
"Don't you dare Christian!" Saniya warns.
"Then tell me!" I answer, Why restrain her? She is clearly scared!"
"Umm…Christian?" Colton said.
Pointing behind me, I am hammered in the head, flung straight into the side of the motel collapsing to the ground. Alex is upright wobbling his body upright, his eyes shining bright teal as the guardian poised above him.
Propelling myself up I grab my arm, Saniya stuck up a barrier of magick. Alex made animalistic noises pounding hard against the enchanted wall. Her feathers shed in attempts to get through to us heaving her body with force, the shield would pulsate with each blow.
"We need another bonding session bro!" Colton states.
His feet a couple of inches off the ground Colton glides approaching me, once again merging with me. It feels different this time…
Slumping down on my knees, I get glimpses of what Colton has seen inside of Alex's mind. How he was also human at one time, is that Steel with him? They came from a completely different time period!
Some images are unclear when I see the man who destroyed his life…Alex's life…
"No!" Saniya shouts, "You shouldn't be seeing that!"
She runs towards me to be knocked in the back by celestial being's attack, their laughter was combined entangled between the two. Does he know he is possessed?
"She is unconscious, we need to stop her," Colton notes.
"Who, Saniya or the angel thing?" I ask.
"Nevermind…"
Beams of teal light hail from the heavens surrounding Alex and his winged keeper in the shape of a circle, now stuck in a deep trance. It's eyes follow me regardless of its hypnotic state. I am not sure where to go when I realize my body is starting to move by itself.
Using every ounce of free will could not free my legs and arms from moving on their own, Colton has decided to do his own thing for once! Fearlessly I walked to stand tall to the scariest sight I have ever seen yet.
Every single time it beat me away, pushed, prodded, I would be made to get back up. Colton readies the 'Golden Gaze' drawing all of his inner strength to move his body into the rays emitting overhead making a loud static humming noise.
Words started to tumble out of my mouth that was not mine…
"Alex! Do you remember me!" I shout.
It was not my voice that carried out through my lips, tears formed and dropped spilling down my face. Colton never existed. I learned that very second, Gavyn was trying to guide me in his own manner.
Alex took one good look at me saying formless speech with his mouth, I felt a mask had been placed over mine that very moment. Untangled hair cascaded down my shoulders, I was grasping for his hands in a closeness I never understood.
In the light of the lamp posts, Gavyn was doing all he could to unravel Alex's mute heart, the rays of the light stopped. The being shields her tiny captor from Gavyn denying his touch.
"S-stop…" Saniya yells.
"Master, do not let him fool you! The archangel says.
"Gavyn…you are alive?" Alex said.
"You need to remember yourself! Please snap out of it!" Gavyn spoke.
Their hands nearly brushing, the divine messenger shrieks in displeasure striking Alex causing him to faint into her arms melting away back into his spirit making sure he would never recall who he was.
Saniya beats the ground with hands laughing out, crying out watching the disappointment on my face. Her eyes drew menacingly at me and Gavyn.
"Alex…" Gavyn says.
He departs allowing me to use my body again, I pick my master up from the hard concrete not wanting to talk to Saniya, everything I thought was wrong.
"Christian, you have no master, no clan, only me." She spouts.
"Enough please, don't harm them and I will always be there for you…" I say.
Turning away I felt an emptiness in me, a rising one that I was filled by position in my life, but was only temporary in hindsight. I was tired and wanted to rest.
"You truly are too good for me then." She comments.
