The room is engulfed in dark red lights hanging overhead on string lights. I stood there by myself in a large empty concrete room, no cells, no chains other than the one I have around my neck.
"Since you were Saniya's now you are mine…"
"Hello?" I ask.
"I see…"
"If you try to escape me I will kill you." Shimon warns, "You are my 'Igor' now."
"What will happen to me here?" I questioned.
A woman dressed in black comes down the steps, I notice right away her large flail swinging in her hand. She is in shock seeing me as I am meeting her once again.
"Teddi, I need you to take hmmm…what is your name?" He asks.
"I am Christian…" I hesitate.
"You can call him Igor if you can't remember his name. You will sleep on the cold hard floor at night Igor." He explains.
"You serve Reid, your master is no more Igor." Teddi laughs.
"You will die for me, obey me only." He states.
"Where is Alice?" Teddi inquires.
"In her room, Igor, make sure she is fed…that is all for now." He instructs.
He claps, making me follow after Teddi, we depart in the long hallway after she hands me blood in a very small vial.
"Deliver this vial and leave, meet me downstairs afterward." She explains.
"Understood…" I answer.
Opening the door, I notice right away how the room is huge! A large canopy bed sits in the middle of the room draped all in white. On the bed I spot Alice crying huddled in blankets, the pillow gathered at her knees hiding her face.
"Alice?" I ask.
"Christian!" Alice yells.
Clamoring into my arms, she cries into my suit. Pulling her away I look into her eyes as she calms down.
"Where is the master, Alice?" I request.
"I don't know…I've been worrying myself about where he is." Alice responds.
I hand her the vial, turning away, she sits on the edge of the bed as I leave her alone in the room once again by herself.
"I am so sorry Christian…" Alice says.
"I will find a way out of this…" I assured her.
The chains clank as I walk in tattered clothing, automatically I am reminded of old movies where an ugly man bowed over walks through the halls preparing for the day of his master. I shuddered to wonder how that stereotype came to be.
A woman with short hair stands in the hall staring at me in the darkness of the damp corridors, half her face covered in bandages and face mask. She wore the usual white robes of a doctor or nurse, long black gloves, and knee-high boots with heels estimating at least six inches.
She beckons me to her room, the room is covered in bloodstains. It could make a horror movie look innocent by far. Bringing me further back I am confused the more I see gurneys and wheelchairs stacked against the end of the room.
"Have you seen Teddi?" I ask, "She said to come to her later."
"I think she got busy, but I will call her." She responds.
"Thank you…"
Waiting beside a white curtain I see a silhouette followed by coughing, the figure sits up for me to realize it is actually Alex. I move the covering to find it is actually Reid staring back at me hacking into the palm of his hand.
"I-I thought you were someone else…" I comment.
"You are my new assistant right?" He said.
"I am?"
My heart sank instantly, the kid was torn up in the face. Deep gashes not healing properly as they should. Alex was quite an animal when it came to fighting so I am not entirely shocked at the damage he gave this guy.
Mentally Alex is much much older, but he also has no memories of his prior existence, another problem is this kid is certainly not fully adapted yet to his new life as a vampire so I feel a little pity for him at the very least.
"Are you okay?" I ask.
"I am, did Teddi fetch the supply yet?"
"Supply? You must be mistaken, I am new here!" I yell.
"Oh right…you came in with that heathen!" He smirks.
"Excuse me?"
"The bastard that did that to me…he is in the dungeons as we speak." He said, wincing in pain.
"There is a dungeon here?"
"Master, you shouldn't be moving too much." The doctor scolds, "Newbie!"
She shouts at me, I rotate fully before approaching her any further being handed an envelope of some sort. I walk backward holding it when I bump into something looking above.
"Hey, runt!" Dominique shouts.
Tears well up in the corner of my eyes just from seeing him, he knocks me aside to bow down to the new vampire. He takes his hand gently and kisses the top peering up at his new master.
"Oh you are also my new clansmen, I am glad to meet you," Reid says.
"I am happy to serve you and Shimon, I hope you get well soon," Dominique replies.
Dominique looks at me tilting his head motioning for me to come over, I obey and kneel in front of the child-like vampire.
"I…I am here to serve you Master Reid….please allow me to be at your beck and call." I lied.
Internally I was crying out, lest my words betrayed me, but merely copying the words of Dominique to be in good graces if I don't do this. I may never be able to rescue my true master and his sword.
That's when it hit me…where are Steel and Clarence? Perhaps in the same place with Alex. Their care and safety are a priority. I dazed out to not notice I was being tapped on the shoulder.
"Igor?" The woman shouts.
"I am not Igor!" I yell back.
"You are what I call you, give that envelope right away!" She scolds.
"Understood…"
"I will go with him to make sure it's delivered." Dominique smiles.
"Thank you! Make sure to bring me vials of blood please!" Reid demands.
"We will be as quick as possible," I answer.
